Hello everyone!
I'm Ember and I suck at intro texts! Now that your standards have been properly lowered and my perfomance anxiety slightly abated, lets get into the nitty gritty.
First off:
I
LOVE
ROLE-PLAYING
I have ever since…well, really ever since I can remember. I was that kid who's first loves were all fictional (still are to this day XD) and who would also stare blankly out the car window, imagining different worlds or scenarios from the various books or shows I was into at the time. What started as silent staring contests with the local flora outside my classroom windows, soon evolved into something much more exciting.
Playing House
Oh yeah, I'm talking full on plastic food buffets that I would spread out for my family members to "enjoy" or various dolls being continuously captured and rescued by the same person over…and over….and over… (what can I say, I liked what I liked)
But wait, there's more!
My inventive escapades from reality didn't stop when I reached scholastic facilities, oh no, they continued to populate my mind at light speed. New scenarios or "stories" would pop into my head as if they were the spawn of Tribbles!
Anyways, you get the point.
To this day, I still adore creating stories, forging characters, discovering parts of myself I would never have recognized if it weren't for my characters emulating them. Some may say I lived most of my life in a lucid dream and I would say "Heck yeah! Real life SUCKS" (not really, I'm doing great and all is well- I promise!) but I still live with no regrets. I mean who doesn't want to bend reality from time to time? Why not dream of the ability to push your hand into a locker by phasing out the surface matter to accomodate more mass (I did have a dream where I did that once in front of my friends. They ran away screaming that everything they knew was a lie, hehehe).
I'm very passionate about very few things, but role-playing/storytelling is one of my top five. If that wasn't already made clear…
Secondly: (yeah, you forgot I was counting down didn't you!(I mean I wouldn't blame you because I sure did))
Now that we've established kinship or "Alignment of interests" as various other Apps would say, let's talk about what that actually looks like today.
I would describe myself as a very adaptive writer. I can write anything from a novella to a paragraph depending on my co-writer. Though I enjoy a good content rich reply (better then fine wine if you ask me…I mean if you wanted to ask- you don't have to-er- scratches head you get the picture) I also understand that sometimes the scene doesn't need a whole patented chapter book and then I'll setting for at least a three page essay! I'm kidding, of course (if anyone is still with me at the point, bless your soul). In reality, I honestly just ask my partners to give their posts their best, whatever form that is. Everyone's style is different, and I love seeing the nuances in each post. As a creative writers, I'm still striving to improve my own style and that can only be accomplished by continuing to be exposed to others.
Give me your best and I will do the same.
Thirdly (We're almost there, I swear!):
Getting to the meat now! Let's discuss "Preferences" or what I like to say "Am I The Right Partner For You?" (AITRPFY- for short).
Though I'm a very adaptive writer and am usually down for writing in a universe/style that I'm unfamiliar with, I do have my usual go to's. I freaking love a good romance as much as the next person- but to top that off, I especially excel at fantasy-dark-themes. Okay, HOLD IT- RIGHT THERE! Before you panic, let me explain what that looks like to me. I tend to think of "Dark" as more of an opportunity to get very in depth or create a situation that can make or break a character- whatever form that takes. Yes, I'm fine with writing about rated R things in great detail, there's not much that I'm not willing to let my characters go through (BUT THERE ARE SOME! PLEASE DISCUSS WITH ME BEFORE LAUNCHING AN IDEA IF YOU ARE UNSURE) But its been in some of those moments where my characters solidify their "spirit" so to speak.
Rising up from the ashes if you will.
As far as character choices go, I do tend to play chaotic neutral characters though I do try to switch things up to keep my brain active and not to fall into complacency. However, there is one rule that I actively choose not to budge in:
All of my characters have the capability of being completely evil or a complete saint. It's all dependent on the story and the events that surround them. I've had wonderful angelic characters become the very nightmare they feared and viceVersa. I don't expect anyone to copy or uphold this sentimentality, but I do think my partners should be aware that I'm rather steadfast in this ideal.
Finally, in terms of post frequency and "conclusions"- for now I have a fairly open schedule, but to be honest, my life is completely random. I usually try to reply AT LEAST once or twice a day (again, that could change at anytime without my knowledge- that and I have medically diagnosed ADHD and tend to struggle with object permanency.(In other words, if I'm not looking at it, I won't remember it's existence)) Please feel free to send me small reminders if I haven't responded within 24 hours!
if it comes to an unfortunate point where you are no longer interested in the story then it's okay to ghost me! I too am VERY conflict averse and understand completely. That being said, I'll probably just shoot a check up text to see if we're still on board and it's VERY okay to say you are no longer interested. I don't bite unless you bite first.
CONGRATULATIONS FOR MAKING IT TO THE END OF THIS ABSURDLY LONG INTRO (I'm not even sure if I made it here!)
If you are still reading this, then you have my sincerest thanks as well as my respect. I tried to answer any common questions that I could think of, and if you have more then please send them my way! Thank you for having me here and I greatly look forward to the numerous adventures to come!
AND THAT'S A WRAP!
