So - I am going to be starting a new job on Tuesday and wanted to get an interest check in to see if anyone would be open to this rp!
[THE STORY]
For centuries humanity grew and thrived upon the only planet it had ever known as home - Earth. It was only inevitable that one day everything humanity had ever known would come to an end, as is the way of life, and everything in it. Earth's end began with humanity, and took the shape of climate change, species extinctions, and lastly - had it not been for all of this, what would seal humanity's fate would ultimately end not with, or because of itself, but with an enormous, planet-sized, asteroid careening through space and destroying all within its path. In later times this asteroid became known as 'Killjoy.'
Killjoy, however, did not arrive cloaked in shadow or secrecy. Humanity had known of its presence and trajectory for a very long time and had already begun the construction of ships, star-ships, on a scale none had fathomed. They called these new ships Settler ships, or Settler-class Starships, and they were capable of housing and transporting people and cargo extremely long distances - as well as being completely self-sustaining within. The Settler ships could house 50,000 souls at once and carry all the cargo needed for this. Humanity's militaries came together to develop and construct one more ship as well, Settler sized, capable of carrying all of the heavy equipment and tools needed for colonization on another planet. They named this ship, 'Life.'
Humanity's work had to end with the completion of five Settler ships and the idea that 250,000 people alone would survive to hopefully colonize a new world. Those who fit into particular age ranges, had particular skill-sets, or came from affluence or were actively serving in the militaries were given special privelige and top-priority onto the ships. Those who could not live on their own, the Elderly, the sick, and the weak were to be left upon Earth for its final hours. In later years, we found to be true, that certain affluent individuals designed and constructed their own ships in order to save themselves, their families, or to sell rides of their own to a new world. The certain number of individuals who actually saw the new world is unknown.
Just weeks prior to Killjoy's arrival humanity set out and launched their Settler ships and the ship Life. Together, one by one, each and every launch executed successfully and without loss of life. Humanity had embarked on its journey to discover a new home. For five years humanity drifted throughout space in search of a new home, until, at last - they had. A planet, Earth-like, the size of ten Earths. A beautiful green, blue, and gray planet of lush vegetation, animal life, and the bluest water imaginable. Humanity found home.
Humanity found Neonica.
Years passed and humanity flourished on the planet Neonica. Upon arrival, immediate construction of what's now known as the mega city Kidoda began. This was humanity's first undertaking upon their new home. The greatest minds thought together, the strongest arms built together, and humanity forged itself a new home in the stars.
Scientists began noticing amazing things about Neonica. It's formations and surface, it's substances and atmosphere - but one thing truly baffled them. The energy radiating from the planet as if it were alive itself. Upon further investigation, and many years later, reports of humans being able to physically detect and even see this energy began to surface and the scientific world rushed to experiment. Findings were astounding. These individuals could manipulate matter, the physical surroundings, some demonstrated abilities to conjure or control elements like fire and water. Science named this energy Mana and these individuals Mages. To this date and time Mana and Mages are still unexplainable and thus require much caution when interacting with one.
With the emergence of Mages also came the emergence of some of Neonica's first religions, cults, beliefs, and traditions. Some individuals claimed to be able to see anomalies emerging from spikes in mana, these anomalies became known as Entities. These entities seek out fitting vessels, communicate with this person in some form - telepathy, dreams, actual speech, and either by persuasion or mutual agreement are allowed to, what's called, Possess this person. Some describe it as a split personality or some other person or beings thoughts or will moving the body, some say it is merely the Entity bestowing powers and abilities upon the vessel with no Possession like side affects. These people who commune and take the powers of these Entities are called Paladins.
(Mages can manipulate Mana and utilize their abilities - Paladins use Possession with Entities to gain their abilities.)

[Major Factions in Kidoda]
(Any time 'mixed', or 'mixed blood', or terms of that nature are used it means the co-mingling of blood between Mages and Humans. In current times those who possess magical abilities natural or otherwise are looked upon with fear, caution, and curiosity. Mages are often looked at as second rate citizens and in certain cases, like with the Purists, worse. Even a person with a Mage father and Human mother who does not inherit magical abilities is looked down on - if their parentage is known.)
Kidoda's Pure/Kidodan Purists: Those calling themselves Purebloods - Humans (Earthblooded and Kidodan) who do not possess any Magical abilities, do not engage in Possession with Entities, and who do not possess any modification or augmentation. They are 100% Human and believe they are the purest forms of Humanity on Neonica. However focused on their views they are, Purists are very radical, bordering hostile and are not afraid to let their views be known.
Light-call Temple: Also known simply as the Temple, it was founded to provide a safe haven for practitioners to live, study, and form a deeper bond with their Entity, Entities, and with channeling the power and abilities provided by Entities through Possession. It is a safe haven for those in the process of learning whether or not Entities are drawn to them and find them to be a fit vessel. (The official name for those who do have the ability/Possession with Entities is Paladin; regardless of gender or blood line.)
Order of High Kidoda: The Order was formed to protect Mages of all walks of life. (Earthblooded, Kidodan, and mixed-blooded Humans.) It is lead by High Magus McCreary, an enthusiastic yet highly boisterous individual. In current times however, with the public's view on Magic, Possession, and the powers involved, the Order remains highly isolated, secretive, and cautious. (Mages often try to blend in as much as possible to avoid adverse interactions with the public.)
aug.MENTAL: Some call them thugs, a gang, terrorists, and hoodlums. In a sense they're every bit of those. This crime syndicate is responsible for the majority of drug, arms, and illegal augment (augment/mod/implant = interchangeable.) trafficking known throughout Kidoda. aug.MENTAL is known to operate on both sides of the law and through fronts as well. They are known to have judges, lawyers, implant devs, and others all at their disposal or on their dime.
Kidoda Peace Agency: The KPA, the police of the mega city Kidoda. They are tasked with keeping the peace and upholding the laws of Kidoda. Next to the military (Now known as the Unified Kidodan Army) they act as foot-soldiers to enforce the law.
Unified Kidodan Army: After the founding of Kidoda humanity's military condensed into what is now known as the Unified Kidodan Army. They are the soldiers, the defenders, the space-cowboys of Kidoda. The UKA also has scientists, engineers, and others in its employ developing new technologies and modifications. The UKA and a handful of KPA officers are the only arms of Kidodan government allowed to dispense and install approved government modifications for citizens.
(Earthblooded = Those whose bloodlines can be traced back to Earth.)
(Kidodan = Those whose bloodlines have no ties to Earth - born and raised in Kidoda, on Neonica.)
(Mage = Individuals who are able to sense and manipulate mana.)
(Paladin = Individuals who are able to sense and commune with Entities to gain abilities.)

If you're still with me I am just looking to see who is at all interested. I don't want an enormous group maybe upwards of five others in the beginning. If all goes well I am going to continue writing up the lore and other such things and perhaps have a few different rps set on the planet of Neonica.
If you're interested post here! I will be getting down to writing a story introducing the rp and everything else soon.
Cheers lovelies. <3
