Hello all! You can call me Murmur or Rei, whichever you’d prefer.
I’m new to the site, but not new to writing by any means… although I have to admit that I’ve only recently gotten back into roleplay. ^^; I have a very specific plot in mind, one that I’ve been drafting up on my own for a while now, but figured would be a lot more fun as a collaborative project, hehe. (; But first, a little about myself:
I recently turned 31 and have been writing as a hobby for about 15 years now, but I’ve enjoyed stories in the mxm romance genre for just as long… if not longer. xD I love complex characters, messy, toxic romances, and a good dose of levity in my stories. Do you enjoy the worldbuilding and brainstorming process, discussing the nuances of characters, and maybe even like to have a good ooc chat on occasion? c: Whaaat! Me too! Huh, how ‘bout that? We might jus’ get along. ^^
On a more serious note, what I’m really looking for is a partner who likes to take their time with their craft… Someone who enjoys letting their OC’s personality and voice shine on the page! That being said, you can expect that same sort of effort from me.
Anyways, onto the plot!
Muse A is a shameless reporter who will do just about anything to get the inside story. Lie, bribe, blackmail, trespass, flirt… whatever it takes. Cocky beyond his years, he prides himself on knowing how to talk his way in and out of situations. Lately, he’s been fixated on getting exclusive info on the city’s latest killer, hellbent on exploiting the situation for everything it’s worth... Whether it be good luck or bad, Muse A gets a lead of a lifetime, one that might score him the exclusive interview he’s been looking for…
Muse B is a lonesome drifter with a strange “sixth sense” about people… one that compels him to kill those he feels deserve it. His targets are seemingly at random, but always someone malicious in one way or another, and it always ends in a mess for them… It’s not revenge or vitriol that drives him. He’s like a living reaper, fulfilling this role for reasons even he isn’t entirely aware of. One fateful day, however, his senses lead him to cross paths with Muse A, and for the first time, his instincts are misaligned. To kill or not to kill… Muse B finds The Reporter impossible to categorize… He may need to study his prey up close to get a better feel for it…
I feel like this scenario can go in a few obvious directions… The Reporter wants all the information he can get, despite the risks (hell, maybe even enjoys the risks a little), and The Killer feels the need to get to know The Reporter a little better… y’know, while he decides whether to kill the guy or not. :] I’m really hoping for a catch and release/cat and mouse sort of vibe with this one.
I don’t have a preference on which role I’d rather play, as both characters have the potential to be a lot of fun. So feel free to pick your poison! And of course, I’m always willing to hear out plot ideas and other suggestions.
I guess my writing style would be described as literate/descriptive (3rd person, past tense), but I’ll let you be the judge of that. I’ve provided a writing sample below!
Looking for someone similar in style. c: Response lengths run anywhere from 300 - 1000 words, but I average around 300 - 600 for pacing’s sake, especially for dialogue-heavy scenes.
Please provide a writing sample.
DNI if you’re just going to phone it in with AI. Please, for the love of God, spare me. It’s lazy and makes me sad. ;-;
I only write male characters who are cis-leaning, and am only interested in crafting stories centered around male pairings. I am, however, willing to play side characters to help move the story along. I work a full-time job and don’t have a set schedule, but you can expect 2-3 replies a week or roughly every couple days or so, maybe quicker if I’m really engaged!
GHOST FRIENDLY. We’re all busy in our lives, and I completely understand the need to step away for one reason or another; however, I'm hoping to find a partner who doesn't get bored easily.
If this is going to work, I need a partner who’s open to participating in the scenarios and themes listed below. Anything with an asterisk* next to it has VERY STRICT limitations, and needs to be discussed before being executed in the rp.
Fear Play (stalking, chasing, kidnapping, power imbalance, wall/floor pinning, bondage, knife play*, choking, etc*.)
Humiliation Kink* (begging, pleading, etc*)
Obsessive/Possessive Tendencies
Sexual Awakenings
Dub-Con*
Non-Con*
Stockholm Syndrome
Open to other ideas as well, just ask. (;
Absoloute NO’s:
Blood Play
Vore
ANYTHING bathroom-related
Feet stuff
Excessive and abhorrent descriptions of gore/sex/abuse/etc
Animal abuse of ANY kind
This story isn’t intended to be a full-on horror story, and as much as I enjoy villainy and depravity in measured doses, I’m not looking to play against OCs who are heartless, overly cruel, or jus’ downright gross.
Cool, hope we’re on the same page on all that.
Anyways, that’s all I have for you. Thanks for reading until the end! If you’re at all interested, please feel free to drop me a message and introduce yourself! I promise I don’t bite, hehe.

Interview with The Serial Killer
dark romance | enemies to lovers | killer x journalist | power imbalance | catch & release
Rumors of a serial killer have the whole city on edge, especially the local press… sitting on the edge of their seats, that is, waiting for the next big scoop! With cops tight-lipped and witnesses too scared to come forward, an ambitious journalist starts poking his nose where it doesn’t belong...Muse A is a shameless reporter who will do just about anything to get the inside story. Jude let out an incredulous scoff, almost amused by Frank’s claim that he wasn’t as nefarious as Jude suspected. He lowered the irrigator for a moment to stare up at the ceiling, trying to think. He really didn’t want to agree with Frank, but the man was right. A lot of folks would’ve frozen up in that situation, even Jude… and, of course, Jude was still quietly grateful that Frank had reacted the way he did. But he still wanted to press for more information, desperately wanted to know what his kid brother was getting himself into. Hollis sure as hell wasn’t going to fill Jude in… and there was a gnawing sense of dread in the back of Jude’s mind, wondering why exactly that was. But he realized he'd need to lower his hackles, at least for the time being. His burning questions could wait a while longer. It wasn’t like Frank could just get up and waltz out, now could he?
He was just about to acquiesce on the matter when he felt Frank’s hand clasp onto his own. Jude’s gaze immediately flicked down to the contact between them, disrupting his train of thought.
He tried to think of something witty to reply back with, but he stumbled on his words. The heat behind Frank’s grip contrasted heavily with Jude’s cold hand, icy fingers trapped between hot, sweat-dampened skin. He could feel the panicked rise and fall of the man's chest, the beat of Frank’s heart thrumming beneath his palm, making it suddenly impossible to think about much else…
“... Cold hands, warm heart, I guess…? That’s what my mother used to say anyway,” Jude finally answered, looking anywhere around the room except at Frank. He didn’t pull away, despite knowing he should, ignoring the part of his brain that told him it was wrong to enjoy the pleasant sensation of Frank’s hand on his. Truthfully, it felt nice to have that steady warmth seeping into his cold fingers, making his other hand, still primed with the irrigation wand, a little jealous of the contact.
Jude cleared his throat, trying to compose himself. He lowered his head, finally meeting Frank’s gaze again.
“Look, Mr. Casale… I know you probably mean well, and as much as I appreciate you lookin’ after my brother the way you have, I'm still gonna need some answers here…” He reexamined Frank’s injury up close, hunched over the man to align the irrigation wand with the bullet wound.
“When all this is said and done, I hope you’ll at least consider being more upfront with me,” he said evenly, applying more pressure to the man’s chest in the hopes of preventing him from sitting up during the next phase of things.
