Paloma has a personality as frosted as the mountains she hails from. Her curious nature and extreme focus extends only unto matters that catch her fancy- she studies disease and medicine, and couldn't care less for non-relevant branches of academia.
She is loyal only to her younger brother Wren, who she had been caring for up until his disappearance.

Paloma knew and still remembers her parents, which is more than she can say for the brother who is 5 years her junior. They had passed within months of each other when she was seven, and the Lentenfield siblings were quickly placed under the household of the neighboring Hemlocks (the husband had been made sterile by an illness in his youth, and the wife had wanted children). Paloma never noticed any real difference after their deaths. They were never around.
Her childhood was uneventful, though lonely. The word around Strrovagnar was that both the Lentenfield and Hemlock families were either cursed or diseased. Paloma's old home, the farm originally owned by her family and located on the outskirts of town, was avoided at all costs, as the land would no longer yield any crop. Paloma would seclude herself in a valley with books scavenged from her old home, and would disappear for several hours in the day. When the farm was mysteriously set ablaze, only a handful of tomes survived. At 15, Paloma could no longer set off on her own with a daily book for several hours. Deep down, she had felt cheated. There was no real relationship with her parents, but a part of her clung to the education their books provided.
With a sudden plague sweeping through Strrovagnar when Paloma was 18, the Lentenfields had their true parents taken from them. With the Hemlock's death came Wren's coughing fits that soon spiralled into an unknown but persistent illness.. As the only surviving (and healthy) family Wren had left, Paloma turned to learning natural medicine and remedies. Allowed to apprentice at an apothecary out of pity, she showed promise in the field, likely stemming from an early introduction thanks to her parent's small library. Things continued in this way for five years.
Coming home late one night, Paloma checked in on her brother (who was a handful of months away from his eighteenth birthday). He was gone. No clues were left behind, other than his shoes missing from the door and his pack gone from the hook. Her journey currently revolves around his disappearance, and is unafraid to experiment with different methods to find him.

With the death of the Hemlocks, her only real relationships are those with Wren and the apothecary she apprenticed under, an aging man named Balsam.
Paloma's skills rests with knowledge of plants, though she is limited to those she has grown up near. A book kept in her possession will allow her to identify those she doesn't know, but the challenge will lie in applying what knowledge she had towards using them.
Unlike her brother, Paloma is fully healthy. However, a lifestyle revolving around study does not often allow for activity beyond hiking in the field. Her physical strength is below average, and her stamina could use improving.
Her complete and total focus on herbalism and epidemiology has left her wanting in other academic departments. She may be able to identify plants and different muscles in a leg, but she doesn't know or understand much of politics or history outside of her home region. She is studious, and by no means a fool, but she could be described as "sheltered."

Developments: Paloma is currently saving money to leave Strrovangar in search of her brother.
