Hello everyone! My online handle is Canary. It's lovely to meet you all, I'm excited to join my first ever RP forum–here at the Inner Sanctum. A Google search brought me here after I typed in "where can I go to RP?"

My favorite authors (at the moment) are Stephen King / Jason Anspach & Nick Cole (Galaxy's Edge series) / Leigh Bardugo (Six of Crows series), and many, many more, but those are among my most recent inspirations.

I want to become a novelist. I enjoy RP because it helps me to improve with every new, wonderful partner and scene we weave together into a shared story. I hope to gain some wonderful new pen-pals and friends here that will help me improve as a writer.

I first delved into the world of written RP in 2016 (although I was verbally RP'ing with D&D a few years prior). I'll typically try to match my partner's writing style in terms of POV and length (although I prefer around 2-3 paragraphs and above).

Themes I'd love to explore (but are not limited to) are:

• Crime (either within a fantasy, sci-fi or modern setting)
• Slow-burn 'will they? Won't they?' romances (that are better between unconventionally attractive people IMO)
• Forbidden & taboo loves that are doomed to fail, despite being impossible to resist
• Underdog tales about 'losers' overcoming the odds and achieving their dreams. (Anti-heroes with revenge stories are a +)
• Risky Fantasy dungeon delving - with dice combat (leaving you never quite sure if your character will succeed).
• And all the other stuff I forgot to put down here.

I have characters for my short stories, characters that I need to develop more and experiment with RP. I'll likely be posting ads for them in the not-too-distant future.

I look forward to getting to know you all and joining in the RP fun!

Second! I bet you're wondering how to start Role Playing and where to go! I think it's pretty fun to explore the forums, and I highly recommend doing so! Most thread homes, if not all, have a pinned post at the top of them to tell you what goes there! However, the Request Threads are pretty self explanatory; Here's a Link! There's plenty to look through, but you could also build your very own! Tell people what you're all about and get those writing partners! Take your time though; there's never any pressure! If you were looking for an open story you can just jump in straight away, you can find them in Unfinished Tales!​

Next, I've created A Sanctum Tour to help find a lot of cool places on site! There's plenty to do while waiting on replies or to give yourself a break every now and then!
