Hiya!
I am a gamer/writer/artist that has mostly been playing and running DnD and other Rpgs for many years. Those have been falling flat of late, with the RP side falling away in favor of combat simulator play, which I find less interesting. So here I am looking to find some people to get into the little moments of storytelling.
I tend to write ... A lot. My character backstories for random RPGs sometimes run 15-30k, and those games rarely reference or care about it. I write dream sequences, character introspection, fun outings with friends, and all sorts of things. I do quick sketches a lot, and finished peices often enough, with a kind of comicy style with a little bit of anime influence(bright colors I can't seem to do muted art lol). I do digital character art, background art, item cards, maps, rules, even small animations sometimes. Without a focus ... I don't do any of that, but when inspired by fun and interesting moments in stories, I get fired up and sometimes can't put down the sylus.
I am a generally positive person and I enjoy building others up more than taking them down, and within games and stories I like to provide opportunities for characters to learn/examine/grow with my characters actions. Whenever i have the spotlight, I usually try to grab somone else to share it with me. I enjoy world building (give our characters a bottle of wine in a game of DnD and I'll have a picture of it with label design and the brewers blurb on the back on where it was made and how thier process is special the next day), and I enjoy weaving lore into regular conversation, and creating lore as I go to build the information in the worldspace.
I am mostly comfortable with Fantasy settings, but I sometimes branch out. I have the most lore and trove of ideas for fantasy though, and that's where I am usually happiest. I enjoy all kinds of stories within that framework, but i particularly love magic, Fey/Fae, exploration of characters ideals, realtionships(regular and /or romantic), and challenges. I enjoy reading and thinking about others contributions to lore, and nothing makes me happier than to discover character secrets or knowledge that adds to the world and expands it's horizen, even down to the smallest things.
I enjoy characters that are sometimes quite quirky, but hopefully in interesting ways. When playing RPGs I like to twist the explanations of rules and re-theme them to whatever my unique concept is(without breaking them, just changing the explanation of why they are there and how they look). I play a spectrum of personalities from shy person struggling in a world thier upbringing didn't prepare him for, all the way to a quirky ultra positve idealists and everything in between and beyond. I almost always do character art of the chars in a story or game, particularly when there are fun/funny/touching/interesting moments between them.
I'm looking for a writing collab partner or partners to play around with some ideas or just sandbox it in a fantasy setting to explore their pasts, loves, traumas, adventures, intrigue or whatever else takes our fancy.
Alternativly I also wouldn't mind running a DnD 5e game here or on a discord server that focuses on Roleplay, exploration, and relationships over combat. I have a homebrew fantasy setting that I have done a lot of lore for, and over time players have helped me add more and more to it that I enjoy sharing with others to create and expand together through roleplay.
