Personality
A seasoned warrior with a chip on his shoulder regarding authority and law, Avak is adamant that the only way to live truly free is on the road with a sword on your hip, and friends at your back. His voice is one roughened by a life of shouting over the din of battle, and his hardened gaze seldom wavers. He’s seen a lot, and it takes a lot more to throw him off. Despite his proficiency in it, to Avak, violence is not a lifestyle like to many others in his profession claim, but only a means to an end. He does not revel in bloodshed. It is a tragedy of being a bandit, however, that such a means is often demanded of him.
Avak is someone who very much intimidates those around him, most of the time. Catch him at a tavern when the ale is flowing, though, and you’ll find a gregarious party animal who’s quick to a joke and even quicker on his feet. Even if he won’t lead you in a fight, he could definitely lead you in a dance.
Likes: Enchanted Weapons, Alchemy
Loves: Music and Drinks
Alignment: True Neutral
Other: Yearns for freedom

History
Born in the northernmost part of Cyrodiil called Bruma as the son of an Apothecary, Avak was a scrawny, bookish child with a gentle nature. He spent his youth learning about remedies and maladies, and the reagants to make them. His father instilled in him the philosophy of medicine, and the importance of helping others. The family business suffered as years went by, however, with the various guilds and merchants politicking that cut off access to valuable ingredients. This culminated in some shady backroom deals pressuring Avak’s father to sell his shop, or be driven into bankruptcy. So much good that helping others did, Avak thought as he watched his father sign the deed of the store over to a snide elf.
Embittered by the experience of seeing his father defeated with only so much as a pen-stroke, as soon as he came of age Avak joined the Imperial Legion. With his learned background and skill in alchemy as a valuable asset, he quickly rose to junior officer status. Life in the Legion was hard, but the training and mentorship lent itself to him growing into a man others could rely on and look up to. It was then, on a march through a war-torn desert, that he once again fell to disillusionment.
The commander he had been assigned to had not been appointed by merit, but through connections. Letter after letter Avak sent back reporting the looting of friendly settlements, the abuse of troops, and so on, all fell on deaf ears. Avak had finally had enough when he found out in retaliation, the commander had framed him and his men for a massacre that had taken place while they were out patrol. Storming into the command tent, Avak had beaten the Commander within an inch of death with steel gauntlets. The incident resulted in his discharge, and subsequent imprisonment for gross misconduct and assaulting a senior officer.
The Avak that left that prison was a changed man. He had enough of civilized people and their laws which only seemed to benefit wealthy families. He vowed to live on as a free man until the day he died, even if that day was tomorrow.
