Rowen The Blessed One
(Don't mind her scratched eye, she was lucky enough that the witch doctor saved her eye so they are both still in her head.)

Life growing up on Valknut Island (Valknut means death in Norse) was never easy. The land was cursed with terrible winters, fearsome beasts and forests that will suck the life right out of you if you ever get lost. Rowen managed to survive by the luck of her parents, who were strong warriors loyal to their King. She carried the burden of her parents victories for many years until she was 8. Rowen gained the name "The Blessed One" when their village was attacked by beasts and Rowen in a bid to save her mother after the beast killed her father, she fought fearlessly and landed an axe in the head of the beast, ultimately saving her mother and gaining respect from her king. After that, she began her shieldmaiden training.

Rowen grew stronger and stronger, becoming more agile, more disciplined. When her mother died of old age, she was 16. The king died shortly after her mother and the title of king was passed to the eldest son, who was a tyrant who loved to hurt people to get what they wanted and he wanted Rowen as his bride, since she was the strongest warrior in their village.

Rowen declined and instead challenged him to a duel, killing him and taking his spot as leader. She then began an even harsher training for the shieldmaidens. At that point, a lot of the men of the village moved on, either unable to handle being ruled by a woman, or being murdered by Rowens shieldmaidens for attempting to take Rowens life. Over the last 10 years, Rowen has made a new name for her village, Kona, which translates to Woman, Wife in Norse. She rules it with an iron fist and continuously gains the respect of her people with each successful raid they have done. Her and her shieldmaidens are known all around for being almost undefeatable with the leadership of Rowen, who also had become a cold and calculated woman since taking the position as Queen.

"We are victory!" The shieldmaidens screamed as their axes and swords plunged deep into the chest of their enemies, letting out battle cries that nobody in the land has ever heard before.

"For Freyja!!" They chanted over and over.

It was like a new beast had emerged from the sea with only chaos in it's sight. The blood of the guards who tried to stop them soaked the streets all the way up until the entrance of the castle, where Rowan stood, her axe, bloodied and tightly gripped in her hand and the head of a guard in another, severed from his body. She dropped the head, turning to look over her shoulder. The look on the woman's war painted face was ravenous like a feral animal as she looked back at her shieldmaidens. Blood and dirt stained her body as she sheathed her axe.

"What do you think of this?" Rowen mused as a figure, hooded with the skull of a buck as their face stood beside her, head tilted to the side.

"A sign of welcome?" The figure responded sarcastically, earing a huff from Rowan.

"Please. Keep your jokes for the dinner table, Fiora... This is war." She gave the figure a side glance and then did a full turn to look at the growing group of shieldmaidens behind her. She raised her fist and let out a battle cry. "This is our time, maidens... We have travelled far for this moment! This villages riches lay waiting for us inside this castle." Her voice was that of a lions roar as she spoke, instilling the woman warriors with a sense of confidence as they all screamed in her honor. She turned back to the castle doors and entered the castle, readying her hand on her axe, ready for any sneak attacks.

However, the shieldmaidens were not met with one inch of hostility as they entered the castle. Some had split off to raid the beautiful dining hall and some went to go for others, but Rowen and Fiora and three other warriors went to the throne room, following the vibrant blue flames that lit their way. The halls were unlike anything Rowen had ever seen, definitely nothing like they had on their homeland. She wasn't envious of the beauty though, the harshness of her homeland made it easier for her to raid places like this one. These people were living in their bubble of happiness, they had no idea what was truly out there and it was pitiful.

A great kingdom needed warriors, not royals who sat around and did nothing while their people slaved away for them. She let out an almost inhuman growl as they came to a stop in front of the throne room doors. She lifted her free hand and motioned for the two women behind them to open the doors. Like she thought, at the top of a set of very extravagant stairs, there was a group, one woman who looked like the Queen while the others looked ready to die for her.

What surprised her though, was that she was greeted by name from the woman in the middle. She held authority in her tone, so Rowen could only assume this woman was The Queen.

"I challenge you to holmgang. If I win, you and your people will leave this land and never return. If you win, we will be at your mercy."

Rowen laughed out loud at what the Queen had said. "Mi Lady...." the words slid off her tongue sarcastically. "Do you even know what a Holmgang is?! I am surprised, actually. Not many things surprise me." She lowered her hand for her Shieldmaidens to stand down as she entered the room, her eyes situated directly on The Queen.

"Ah, whatever it may be you're trying to accomplish... I accept your challenge." She said as she came to the base of the stairs and mockingly bowed at her. "But... It is only fair that we fight as equals, no? You've got a little secret of your own, or so I've heard from some of your birds." She teased, looking down at herself, covered in the blood of The Queens loyal guard.

The Witch Doctor Fiora.

Dungeons and Dreamboats V_ Snakes & Cakes - Page 18.jpg
Fiora grew up on Valknut like Rowen but her start is a much darker one. There is a reason nobody knows what Fiera's face looks like, and it's because she is not human. She is a spiritwalker. She can walk among the spirit world. She is the reason Rowen found Freyja's axe. She is the reason Rowen is bound to the axe for life. As a spiritwalker, she can see fragmented futures and hear wisdom from Freyja herself. Rowen saved her life, and for that her sole purpose is to serve her.

Fiora's personality is dull. Because people cant see her face, nobody knows what she is thinking. She plays this to her advantage and sometimes plays tricks on people. She is the only one who takes care of Rowen when she is injured or sick and she is the only person that Rowen has confided any personal secrets with. She is almost always by Rowen's side, and when she is not, she is probably sacrificing something to the goddess Freyja.

Year 6116.
The Alieus Galaxy
Illyum: The Interspecies Colony Station

Illyum. It was the first of its kind. A space station turned into a colony ship and it was as successful as they thought it would be. Illyum was initially a ship repair station until it was shut down after a battle broke out between the Alieus Federation and some bandit rebels who were trying to get their ship repaired. Many died that day and Illyum was shut down for repairs itself.
However, instead of doing repairs, Illyum received an entire overhaul, changing the ships usage. It was now a colony ship, bought and protected by the richest man in the Alieus galaxy as a way to make money. It transformed from ship repair to an entire interspecies colony.

Illyum became the new place to live in the Alieus Galaxy, inviting all species to come and live-in peace together. It was an attraction for many young, wanderlust souls who were looking for a home. However, it also attracted some devious characters, who had ill intentions. This didn't stop Illyum from running, in-fact it only gave the Leader of Illyum more of a reason to protect its sanctuary.

After a few run-ins with some hired mercenaries trying to over-run Illyum, the Captain of Illyum created a line of defense Mechas called The Fire Guard, there is 6 of them.

The Fire Guard Protect Illyum from any and all threats, including when a meteor goes off course, or a crew of Mercenaries is trying to break into Illyum.

They are the backbone of the colony, the only thing that kept it safe.

The upper ring around the Illyum Repair Station is where all the sleeping quarters are. There are a few places with temporary lodging for travelers, but the vast majority is citizens who live on the station 24/7 either working in the lower ring, which was turned into the original idea of a ship repair station while the middle ring was a marketplace and entertainment section. There was all kinds of entertainment on Illyum, casino's and bars. There were even schools on Illyum so the kids could learn about the Alieus Federation.

The long body of the ship in the middle is where all the engines and ship controls are. It is also where the wealthier sleeping quarters are and where the owner of Illyum stays.

In progress.

The Continent of Yahalia [wip]
  • Nobody truly knows when Yahalia was founded. Some say a group of thieves settled there and never left.
  • Yahalia doesn't follow the ideals of Royal blood taking the throne.
  • The rulers of Yahalia are the strongest of warriors and to ascend to the throne one's strength is severely tested
  • A ruler can rule for 3 years before being challenged for their spot.

Current ruler: Elizabeth, The Black Rose.
  • Elizabeth is in her mid twenties.
  • She was born into a family of warriors and was raised like one. She didn't know the affection of another, only a backhand when she didn't perfect her training or a full three days on hunting trips where she was told not to come back empty handed.
  • She is an emotional rock. She is ruthless and cunning with her fighting strategies and is unmatched in strength.
  • She gained the name The Black Rose for her deadly fighting skills and her stunning appearance.
  • She does not like men. her advisors and war advisors are all women.

Cilo (Sea-Low) Mwangi (Mu-wan-gi)

23. Veterinary Student. Capricorn.

Cilo was born in Kenya but her parents immigrated to America after her eldest brother was killed by a gang member with a machete in front of them. She was just a child and has no actual memory except for the story her mother and father told her as she got older. It was always a touch subject for them, she was their only child and they became very protective over her after that moment. She went to an all female private school and graduated with honors. However, instead of pursuing a career as a doctor like her parents wanted. Cilo went to veterinary school and against her parents wishes and moved out on her own when she turned 18.

She is a very intellectual person. She is often reading books, spending time with her German Shepard Yoshi. She doesn't go out much, but her current partner tries his hardest to get her to let out her wild side. Their relationship is quite one-side being that Cilo doesn't get to make very many choices of her own. He's quite controlling and has been recently pushing Cilo towards a more sexual act, but Cilo is a Virgin and she knows that he wouldn't respect her if he were to ever get what he wants so she always denies him. They've been dating for six months now, and he's been talking a lot about moving in with Cilo.

Her parents don't like him and tell her to dump him immediately. She probably will, but Cilo isn't great with confrontation despite the hard headedness of her parents.

She has a slight accent when she speaks and can speak fluent Swahili.

Miranda grew up in a quiet home in the projects of New York. Her family worked hard, laid low and stayed out of trouble as much as they could. Her parents weren't the worst, but they didn't exactly care for her and her two younger brothers because of their drug addiction so she spent most of her time being their care-giver. By the time she was 12, she'd become a full-time mom, she even stopped going to school on time to make sure her brothers got to their school safely because they went to two different schools because they were younger then her. She'd leave early to pick them up on time and miss classes when they were sick to take care of them. Her parents at that point though had both spiraled out of control in their addiction. They spent many nights away on binges, and when they were home they would only throw money on the table.

By the time she was 16, she found a job thanks to one of her parents old friends who stopped by from time to time to check on them. She was sure at that point that the older man was the only one who cared about them. He was the owner of a club that was on the other side of town, in the red light district. He said she could work under the table for him washing dishes in the back and so she did exactly that. She was putting food in the fridge while trying to upkeep her studies.

When her brothers(twins) turned 16 and she 19, her mother died from an overdose. Their father followed not to long after her. She figured that he couldn't live without his partner in crime. The house was left to her and her brothers and they lived there alone ever since.

Along the way, she found herself making some devious friends from the club she worked at. She went from washing dishes, to begging the owner to let her be a server, to begging him to let her dance. She was making enough money to leave but she didn't have the heart to leave her brothers alone so she stayed. When she turned 22, she met her ex-boyfriend Tommy who was a patron that she slowly started to fall for. Once he got her in his grasp, things changed. He asked her to move in with him and she said yes, taking this chance to be separate from her brothers who he thought depended on her too much for adults. He started to go with her everywhere she went, meeting all of her friends and telling her they were too fake and that he didn't want to hang out with them again. He isolated her and eventually he tried to force her to quit her job at the club, saying that she needed to try to have a better reputation than being a stripper to be with him.

At 25 Miranda found herself in the hospital with a stab wound to her back after her boyfriend tried to take her phone away from her. She'd had enough and tried to fight back and she hit him in the face. He'd been violent with her before, but he punched her in the face and she told him she was leaving and she wasn't going to ever see him again. He ran to his kitchen, told her if he couldn't have her then she would be 6 feet under and then stabbed her in her shoulder.

Miranda drove herself back to her home where both of her brothers were and she stumbled in screaming for their help. They took her to the hospital where she passed out and woke up hours later with six stitches in her shoulder. He'd stabbed her with one of the butchers knives in the block. Her lip was busted and her face was bruising badly. Her ex went to prison for attempted murder and she tried to find some normalcy in her life.

The club owner had returned to her and told her that his children were going to take over the club and that they wanted to offer her the studio flat above to have a safe place to get her life back together. They said that she could start working in the club as the bartender instead of a dancer, and she agreed. She moved in two weeks later, telling her brothers that she would be fine, that they could help her move or she'd do it all herself. Reluctantly the two helped her and she settled into her new home.

She would eventually return to work once her shoulder healed enough.
