Hello! This is my first attempt at requesting a group here. I've been a part of group threads on other sites but unfortunately it always dies due to too many members becoming inactive or turns into a 1x1. Here I'm looking for 2 other people to join me, 3 at the very max. I'd like us all to each play multiple characters, starting off with 2 (1 male, 1 female) and add or take away as we go :)

A little about me first!

I only do MxF pairings, I'm not experienced with others and don't wish to throw my ignorance onto others. I'm looking for partners who are interested in the same pairing.

I'm not interested in writing graphic sex or graphic romance scenes. This is just a personal preference as well as respect for my IRL partner. Romance is a must in this roleplay. Gimme that slow burn, butterfly inducing romance. But let's keep the graphic details on the low side. I'm also hoping to keep romance from being the only focus. Let's bring in drama and action!

Gore is fine, just don't spend too long describing how you cut someone's head off. I love a good villain and encourage my partners to play such characters if they get the chance. My moral compass fights be every time I try to play a bad guy so I'm afraid I'm not as experienced as I'd like to be. But I will fawn over a well written villain/troubled character any day!

My writing length can be anywhere between 300-1400 words, I'm looking for those who post about the same. The longer posts are usually split between two characters. My reply times can vary a bit as I have some new life changes I'm working on balancing. I check the site daily and can usually reply to messages within a day. I try to post replies within a few days, once a week at the longest without warning. I'll always try to give a heads up if I will be taking longer than usual. I'm hoping my partners can reply as frequently as me, if not more and are good about giving a head up when life gets in the way.

Now onto my plot idea!

I've tried this idea a few times before on other sites, never got far enough to really enjoy the drama it could entail. Basically it's an arranged marriage roleplay. 3 kingdoms bring their prince or princess into an arranged marriage with another kingdoms random member of society in hopes of bringing peace to the land. This member of society could be a normal peasant, a higher ranking member such as a lord or lady, or anything really. There's flexibility there. I want each writing partner to have a royal character and a regular character. Who gets paired with who can be discussed once the group is formed.

I have some ideas for the kingdoms lore. Something loose but gives an idea of what type of people reside there. More details can be hashed out later.

I'm hoping for a medieval setting with some fantasy elements. Magic can be involved but I don't wish it to be common or over powered. I want anything magical/magic creature to be sort of taboo or special if you catch my drift. There will be one kingdom with a magical element to it that's a family secret.

I've got ideas of love triangles, secret plots to overthrow or sabotage the marriages, etc and I really want to have this last long enough to get to these!

This may be a bit wordy, but it's my first attempt so I hope it's enough to get by at the moment. Reply below if you're interested! I would love a writing sample if you can provide one but it's not required :)

Hey I might be interested!
I can come up with a sort of evil, or power hungry male descendant of a distant kingdom, and also a local commoner girl.

But also, aside from romantic interests, I think we need a common goal or a drive. Something to keep them all together instead of going off in 1x1 pairs.
Can we have more context about this medieval setting? What are some of the fantasy elements, or how much freedom do players have to create our own? Or where are we, and what might be going on around the kingdom where we all meet?

Hey thanks for replying! Wonderful questions, I'll try to answer them all.

The setting is a made up world, something we can shape as a group. My rough idea is to have a forest setting for one kingdom, cliffs along the sea for another and a large volcano/mountainous for the third.

Fantasy elements have some freedom. We could have a shape shifter type race, or maybe some have inherited strength and powers from a dragon blood line. There could be mythical creatures roaming the land disguised as normal creatures, other more dangerous ones lurking in shadows/caves/deeper in the forest. It's really up to what we want. I want it to kind of bring a sub challenge to our story.

The lore I have for each kingdom is loose, able to be shaped by whoever plays the royal. I'm hoping to have one good, one neutral and one bad kingdom. I think your evil character would fit nicely in the bad kingdom, hoping to overthrow the peace treaty somehow to gain power over all three instead of splitting.

As for a common goal, we could have some sort of war/sabotage break out in one of the kingdoms while everyone is in another place, allowing the group to band together to help bring back peace. But every time they come close to splitting off and going home, something else happens, keeping them all together, fighting against inside forces to make this peace treaty work. Ideally the evil royal would be behind all this, sort of controlling the group by making bad things constantly happen.

I'm drawing a blank for a bigger common goal at the moment so I am open to suggestions too! Nothing I say has to be concrete, just the basics of the world really :)

Does that help answer some questions? I've gotten inspired for the kingdoms so I may hash out a little outline for each here soon and posy it below.

Awesome response! I can already see things shaping up.
Maybe the villain character is from the sea cliff kingdom, which is sort of the "bad" one. No one would expect the peaceful sea merchants and ship builders to be the evil ones, would they? So this guy now has his sights set on the volcano, which he believes the mountain people are not harnessing to it's full potential. Like he wants to use the sea kingdoms vast resources to build a giant factory, powered by the volcano itself.

Maybe it would start with people seeing mysterious groups of soldiers building bases all around, followed by unexpected volcano eruptions which don't seem quite natural.

I'm also not attached to any of this, so if it's really far from what you had in mind... I'm just tossing out ideas.

That's a great idea actually! I was going to go the predictable route of the volcanoe kingdom being evil but having the "innocent" merchant kingdom be the real bad guy is so much better! Maybe the volcanoe kingdom could have a rumor spreading around that they are evil and are the ones causing all the trouble. This rumor of course could be started by the actual evil kingdom to push the spot light off them :D

So what are your thoughts about joining in and helping further flesh this out once we get someone else?

Im getting excited! I'm hoping to play a female royal and a male peasant (just for anyone stalking this thread by chance lol) but I am happy to switch that to accommodate another member.

Heres the ideas for the kingdoms, i can add a fourth if we get more people. This is an outline, anything can be tweaked or changed to better fit characters we make. The parenthesis are possible names I've thought of but we can change those too.

The seaside kingdom resides along the cliffs overlooking the sea. they are known for their strong navy, impeccably strong defenses and breath-taking views. They excel in all thing's ocean and water. Though their defenses are strong along the shore, the valleys and hills behind them prove difficult to pass but a vulnerable spot for attack. This kingdom is at the mercy of those with wealthy, strong land. This kingdom offers protection as their most valuable trade item to get what's necessary to provide for their kingdom. They seem to be the most in favor for this peace treaty, but is that really true?

This kingdom is the strongest of the 3. They pride themselves in their offense and defense and the mountain in which their kingdom is built provides more than enough protection. The kingdom is wealthy, mining deep within the mountain side for richest and metals. It's been a rumor this kingdom was the first to start the age-old war and the hardest to convince to join the peace treaty. Past kings have been known as ruthless, heartless and cold. Though as time passed, new royals have tried hard to change their reputation to something lighter. To those sensitive to it, one can feel the magic that runs in the veins of the volcano. Perhaps theres a secret magic hidden deep within?

This kingdom is sat within a lush forest, bountiful in food and livestock. This kingdom is the quietest of the 3, contemplating, observing and acting only when nescessary. The quietness and secrets this kingdom are known for often causing discomfort to its surrounding kingdoms. Whispers can be heard within the ageless castle and the deep, dense forest. It's rumored that magical beasts once roamed this land, going into hiding and providing the humans the chance to rise and take over. As one of the more neutral kingdoms, it's a mystery how they truly feel on this new peace treaty.

Ooh pictures! My little brain loves pictures. I love it!

I would suggest that Higani is the most influential, controlling several river deltas with large cities and ports. They are known to trade with distant lands, building up vast amounts of wealth and knowledge. But there are rumors that aside from trading, they also manipulate and pressure those distant lands to work in their favor, and sometimes even outright colonize them. But since the subjects of such imperialistic moves don't have the large ocean ships needed cross the ocean and make it known, the other two kingdoms don't really know about that.

And maybe Astoria is the largest in terms of land. It's endless thick forests and swamps make it difficult to both defend or invade, so most of this land serves as a jungle which others cross regularly.
