hey ! i've been finding myself very bored and stressed lately (for obvious reasons), so i thought it would be a good idea to try and find some nice roleplays to lose myself in. too bad i'm not very good at coming up with ideas (not easy ones, anyway) - so i'm open to suggestion ! i tend to write 350-1000 words per-post. here's some examples of my writing so you can get a feel for my style:
like the title says, i'm pretty open minded to any ideas you've got to bring to the table. still, i've got some preferences and boundaries.
I WILL NOT-
-play a straight character (as my main) unless the planned relationship dynamics are incredibly interesting. i'm very gay and not very interested in straight romances.
-play a woman (as my main) unless the story is queer and also very compelling. i just have a harder time getting into it.
I enjoy-
-gay/queer romance
-romance romance romance
-modern fantasy
-"historical" or low fantasy
-high fantasy
-sci-fi
-having some semblance of an actual plot (see last paragraph)
-if you're interested in being info-dumped (i won't blame you if you're not) and really enjoy world-building, i've got a few fantasy settings i've had for a while that i would love to continue building with someone.
I'm open to-
-non-romance plots
-sexual (18+) themes/content (this is tentative as i've never done an 18+ rp. if your idea has this then we can discuss it and see if it's something i'm comfortable doing)
-violence and gore (to a reasonable extent- generally not interested in any disembowelings)
-honestly i can't think of many things (within site rules) i'll just outright say no to. suggest something to me and i'll tell you if i'm comfortable writing it.
there is one requirement i have for any and all roleplays, and it is this: we must chat ooc.
we don't have to talk all the time or be best friends or anything, but i like being able to at least occasionally talk about the direction of a story and our characters. you can keep things secret if you really want it to be a surprise, but i like to generally know what's going on so i can try to enhance whatever arc you've got planned with my character's own arc. trust me, i do not write well if i dont have any direction in a story.
i like to get pretty involved with my stories. if that's not your thing, we probably wouldn't have fun roleplaying together.
if you're interested just pm me and we can start figuring out the story right away! i'm really not doing anything
He tasted like ozone- or, at least, he tasted the way smelling ozone feels. The anticipation of rain following a dry spell, the welcome foreboding of a storm from the dark blanket of clouds that preceded it. He tasted like static, and the delicate rays of sun that filter through your window at 7 in the morning to warm your face and shine in your eyes. He tasted like elation. Head buzzing, Owen wondered how he hadn't noticed this the first time they kissed.

He's trying so hard to sound composed and even, but I know the way his voice sounds. I know the way it rises in pitch when he's happy, and the way it softens when he's content. I know what every waver of every consonant means when he speaks. I know the way it cracks when he talks about his family and his past hurts. He can't hide it from me, but he's trying, and I think I can feel my heart breaking every time I hear him push down those inflections. I've never wanted him to think he needs to hide from me, and yet here he is. Like we've just met. Like we haven't known each other for years and years.

Desert. Just desert, as far as the eye could see.
Specifically, at the moment, salt flats. Just as barren as any other stretch of land they'd come across so far, but something between the cracks in bone-dry earth and a sheer lack of any variation in height made it seem especially desolate.
There was a body of salt water here once, Dane thought, though he wasn't sure why he knew it.
"Hey, how much food and water do you think we can go without finding another town?" came Jamie's question, soft from around the back of their vehicle.
"Are you asking because you want to know how fast we're gonna waste away, or because you want to know just how much we should celebrate the great bounty that is our supplies?"
Jamie poked his head around the side of the bare-bones jeep to flash Dane a forced grin, his long, elegant features twisted into a grimace doing it's best to appear lighthearted.
"Clearly I'm getting ready to break out the champagne."
"Clearly. I forgot how grim you looked when you're celebrating."
Jamie scoffed, a true grin cracking across his face at Dane's remark.
"You should see me when I'm really celebrating-"
"If you're about to say something dirty, don't."
"I wouldn't dream of it!"

Owen didn't have very many nice clothes. Actually, he didn't really have any. He had some that were slightly revealing, more suitable for if he were going to go out clubbing- a laughable idea in and of itself- but nothing you'd wear to a nice restaurant. He'd spent an hour that morning pushing clothes around the floor with his foot. Sweatpants, old t-shirts, jeans, his favorite too-big sweater, all a bit overdo for a wash by this point. Were any of his clothes even in his closet? There had been at one point when he moved in a few months ago and foolishly convinced himself he was gonna keep the place tidy, but not anymore.
Well, that wasn't totally true. When he finally looked, there was a plain cardigan lying at the bottom of one of the boxes he had simply shoved into the corner and the one button-up shirt he owned for job interviews. They were both clean- cleaner than everything else, at least. The button-up wouldn't be a bad choice if it hadn't been for the fact they were styled to look like the sleeves were permanently rolled up. The cardigan would make him look like a grandpa, which was fitting considering it had been a Christmas present from one. He heard a knock on the door at that moment, the voice that followed now frighteningly familiar and... pleasant to hear. Given his lack of choice, he threw on the cardigan and button-up, picking a pair of jeans from his floor without much thought.
He must look like an idiot, he thought as he walked to the door, ineffectually pulling socks on along the way. Finally he reached the door and yanked it open with a quick tug. Hesitation hit Owen the moment he saw Zach standing in his doorway.
Though the corner of his lip immediately pulled back to resemble a mild sneer, he was struck by how nice Zach looked. Nicer than him, for sure. It crossed his mind to pull out right now, last second tell him he couldn't go. He'd look so stupid next to Zach. Disheveled- like always- lazy, tired, unwashed, disgusting next to him...
Owen screwed his eyes shut and shook his head to dispel the thought. Awful. Why was he such an awful person? He knelt down to grab his shoes, slipping them on as he stepped out.
"I'm ready," he said, a forced and nervous laugh punctuating the pause before he spoke again. "Just having trouble choosing which outfit to wear from my immense and varied wardrobe."
