Both Needed Lumen: City of Fairytales (recruitment)

Name: Pukajaak Nørgaard, AKA "Puck"
Folklore: Puck - Wikipedia

IMG_4369.jpeg

Age:
Chronologically: >1000 years,
Latest incarnation: 21 years old.
Gender: Nonbinary, prefers they/them pronouns but sometimes goes by he/him.
Sexuality: Puck is actually asexual, but for some reason they are also a relentless flirt and unashamed pervert. They'll sleep with whoever, if they think it's funny or will stir things up, but they don't seek out sex for its own sake.

Personality Points:
Carefree, careless, always joking, Puck loves to lighten every room they're in—whether anyone else wants it to be or not. Puck has a relentlessly cheery and sociable personality, which he tries to fill every room with to match his ego. Puck has a dogged sense of what's trending in the online world and in real life, darting from scene to scene as they find something new. Puck is addicted to excitement and drama: if there is none happening, they will do their best to start some, usually by pranking or tricking someone who they think deserves it (the bar for this sort of "justice" is very, very low). They love to push limits, trip triggers, press buttons, and cross lines—evidently, their fans love it as well. Puck sees zero problem with lying to, drugging, enchanting, and hurting people, if it makes for a better story and if they wind up okay eventually.

Aside from their online followers and his coworkers at their main company pu.ck, the fairy is utterly friendless, living alone in a penthouse apartment along with a pretty robust security system: Puck is an exhausting and often toxic presence, and has pissed a quite a few people off since their internet career took off a few years ago. Suffice it to say that you do not want to go viral because of Puck. Not that Puck really cares—nice lovey-dovey friendships make for shit content, and that's not really what gets their blood pumping anyways. In addition to being a drama junkie, he's also a junkie of other kinds: they have an extensive illegal drug collection (they love ecstasy in particular, and are alleged to possess a love potion made from some flower's nectar—something he strenuously denies) and they constantly are doing stunts and extreme sports, for the adrenaline as well as content.

If you do somehow manage to catch Puck while they're quiet and vulnerable, and can get past their unbearable douchebaggery, you'll also discover that Puck is surprisingly cultured and broad-minded: they love painting and theater, they know far more literature than you would think by looking at them, and they have a deep interest and knowledge of the natural world (especially in astronomy/astrology and meteorology). One of the few pieces of humanity that comes out of Puck are the art and nature programs for Lumen that they quietly entirely fund, and which Puck occasionally tries to get their audience interested in—often to no avail. Puck also is an EDM artist and occasional DJ, and has mused about transitioning out of their tabloid era and devoting all their time to music.

Occupation/Job: Social media personality, influencer, blogger for entertainment and celebrity gossip "news", video game streamer, occasional actual serious journalist (not that anyone believes him), prank show host, podcast co-host, EDM producer and DJ, philanthropist.

Powers:

Fairy Wings — Using his magical wings, Puck can fly as high and fast as a news helicopter, which he often does on his own. The wings aren't all magical, though, and if they get injured or damaged they have to heal. They also can glow and shed harmless sparks on command or when distressed.

Transformation Magic — Puck can focus his magic in an intense beam, causing things to become as they are not: a man's head can become that of a horse, an onion can become an apple, a rock can become a gun, a face becomes another, and so on, up to and including other people and Puck himself. The effect is fragile: it is limited to only one object at a time, does not change states of mind, and lasts until the object is broken or until six minutes have passed. Incapacitating or distracting Puck, as well as counter-magic, can break the effect.

Eavesdropper — Puck has a nasty ability to gather things that others really wouldn't want them too, even if they're behind a wall: he can pick up any whispered conversation and see any passed notes within a 100 m radius: he also can gain instant access to DMs and private messages on any SMS or internet service that another is using. Puck cannot read magical methods of communication, but they can tell when they've occurred.

Nectar of Oberon — Puck is not entirely telling the truth about the love potion. However, they are hesitant to use it, both because the effects are permanent without extremely powerful—bordering on divine—magic, and because they know what it would do to their career if anyone ever found out he even had something like this. Unable to destroy it himself due to an enchanted promise he made to his late friend Oberon, and unwilling to let it fall into the wrong hands, Puck keeps it locked up in a hidden safe in their penthouse. However, if you can threaten/blackmail/torture it out of Puck, or if you can break into his penthouse and steal it, or if you will pay outrageously in money/drugs/favors, Puck may "lose" the potion for your use…

Talents/Hobbies/Skills:
Talents: EDM and music production, painting, photography, videography, website design, creative and journalistic writing, film production, self-promotion, performance, comedy.
Hobbies: Gaming, gardening, forestry, baking, home decorating, candy-making, reading, music listening, cultural criticism, hiking, urban exploration, astronomy, astrology, drugs.
Skills: Persuasion, deception, manipulation, public relations, media production and manipulation, projection and detection of mis/disinformation, technology, journalism, interviewing, aerial navigating, event organizing.

Puck is an ancient fairy, currently inhabiting the body of a half-Danish, half-Inuit young man (every so often when age or violence destroys their body, Puck's sprite will reincarnate into a willing vessel: the vessel themselves becomes a sprite and Puck gets to live with a body). Since time immemorial, Puck has always enjoyed mischief, taking delight in causing problems and entertaining suffering for high and low alike. They were a loyal friend of the fairy King Oberon, as they always could make the monarch laugh, and Puck greatly admired his style and leadership.

When the Glow-eating eldritch creature attacked the world of the fairies, Oberon organized a defense. He requested Puck help the people to safety, and made Puck swear enchanted promises that they would do so (among other things). Once he was ready, Oberon launched an offensive of fairykind against the Darkness, the fair folk trying to choke the creature with their Glow. It failed—this was one of the major reasons why Merlin decided that destroying the Darkness was futile, and why creating Lumen was necessary.

Puck led their people into Lumen where they scattered, free but dejected. On the bright side, Puck finally found their calling with the invention of the internet and internet culture, which matched his frivolous, energetic personality perfectly. Pick also discovered other things he really liked: social media, EDM, drugs, celebrity gossip. Now, Puck is prancing around the elite of Lumen, once again ready to raise all sorts of mischief…

I will approve this, but Transformation magic, Eavesdropping and of course, Nectar of Oberon must require permission from the writer of the intended target.

Town Musicians of Bremen ( work in progress )

Henry Fohlen (the donkey), Bass Guitar & Vocals.

Zane Welpe (the dog), Drums & Vocals.
Annelie Kätzchen (the cat), Keyboard, Rhythm Guitar & Vocals.
Fritz Hähnchen (the rooster), Lead Guitar & Vocals.

Here to ask if Dracula counts as folklore/fairytale and for permission to be said character

Oh, that's tricky. I think it would given the story written by Brahm Stoker and the huge folklore about Vlad the Impaler in Romania.

Work with me on his powers/abilities to prevent him from being broken and I'll say okay on it.
