Scientific Ventures of Doctor Wooka
It all started with the invention of a particular prosthetic. You see, Dr. Wooka is an affirm believer that mutants, metahumans and paranormal or otherwise cursed humans weren't simply evolution of the human species, but a plague. Perhaps this hatred of the metahumans developed because Dr. Wooka did not possess any abilities of his own, just a particularly inventive mind. His first prosthetic designed of scrap wires and metal parts was to help his mother, then the poor and famine stricken people of his neighborhood in Seattle. It wasn't long before he landed himself a scholarship at MIT despite any prior qualifications.
Dr. Wooka had been scouted by the up and coming organisations after graduating, but instead, he made his own company called Robocorp, dedicated to fixing the human condition and making lives better. In this, he avoided employing anyone he even suspected had an active meta-gene. You see meta-gene existed inside of everyone in the world, but most never ever activate these genes. They were sometimes unpredictable and most of the time dangerous.
Robocorp diverged into many areas, medicine, electronics and engineering. Nanite treatment centers (the first of which was established in Seattle) could perform delicate surgeries at the guidance of experienced and expert doctors without the danger of accidents. Smart TVs developed by Robocorp functioned on voice and gesture control. Androids made construction jobs vastly more easier and affordable. Dr. Wooka's innovations changed the way people looked at technology, and also brought a lot of hatred from purity groups and businesses that profited on poor healthcare systems and expensive construction projects.
For all of Dr. Wooka's public projects, he had his hands in some of the shadiest projects you can imagine. Project Xenomorph was one such project where Dr. Wooka, intent on understanding the meta-gene, gave birth to a science project to do just that. A walking, talking meta-gene who herself was probably not even aware of the full extent of her powers. There were androids running around in population centers slowly studying humans and feeding Dr. Wooka with everything he needed. There were androids collecting samples from rare and exotic minnerals and creatures that lived high and low.
