Nestled within the beautiful mountains of Oregon lies Lake Ashton, a peaceful town with residents who may not be all that they appear. Vampires, witches, and angels? Oh my!

Lake Ashton is a summer destination, with water sports/activities and plenty of hiking trails! During the winter, it's only the local residents that fill the small town. This small town had everything it needs, such as a grocery store, bakery, bookshop, and even a nice little cafe run by long standing locals! Lake Ashton has something for everyone to enjoy, but lurking in the dark are creatures most locals are unaware of. Nearby Lake Ashton is the Alvera residence, Royal Blood vampires who have been in the area for generations. Niccolo, the current head of the family and the youngest to ever be in such a position, is having a difficult time with his new position. Someone keeps turning humans into rabids, and releases them on the town to cause chaos. It's up to Niccolo and his closest allies to put a stop to this.

Kit Stekel is Niccolo's right hand man, working with the Royal Blood vampire ever since he escaped from captivity. Viktor is an ageless witch who helps Niccolo from time to time, as they have known each other for centuries (and may have had a romantic fling at some point).

Everything gets complicated when Vivian (or your OC) steps into the picture. A seemingly average human that has a knack for attracting the supernatural, but underneath a protection spell places when she was a child, the truth lies awaiting.

Physical Qualities:
Wavy black hair that reaches just a little past his shoulders, choppy layers with top half pulled up into ponytail or messy bun. Tall and lean, usually wears dark clothing that is a little bit on him. Deep set crimson eyes, the right one having a crack of blue, the man's original eye color. Tiny mole above the right side of his lip, high cheekbones and a sharp jawline.

Personality:
Quick to anger and very reserved, Kit doesn't get along with many people very well. He usually keeps everyone at an arm's length, not having formed many relationships after escaping from Ezra, and doesn't trust people very easily. Kit does respect those who show respect to him, and those that go to great lengths to help him out, he feels indebted to. Although he can be rather harsh and aggressive, he can also be kind and gentle. Having learned from watching the interactions of others for years, Kit feels like he's following a script most of the time, unsure of who he really is or what it means to be a human.

History:
Born in 1521 to a family that served a Lord, Kit was the eldest child of five. His actual name is Christopher, and had a very loving family, working on the farm and hunting with his father. It was a week after his twelve birthday that his entire family was killed one night, the boy being the only survivor. He was moved to an orphanage after this, but was believed to be cursed, as those that survive attacks by red eyed creatures are thought to become the demons that attacked them. He lived in the orphanage until he was sixteen, and a week after his birthday, the red eyed creatures came back and killed everyone in the orphanage, taking Kit with them.

It was at this point that Kit came into the possession of Ezra, the Royal Blood vampire that had recently lost his family to a hunter attack, recently being twenty years ago. The ones that happened to kill Ezra's family was Kit's, his parents being hunters before settling down for a family life. The only reason Kit was not killed was because Ezra could sense the possibility of the boy being an aether reservoir, so he allowed him to live until he was completely sure.

Kit was kept as a blood slave as an aether resiviour for Ezra for ten years, growing weaker and weaker by the year. The vampire made sure to keep him alive though, as he wanted a constant supply of aether. During his time at Ezra's, he met Viktor, a witch that was brought in to check on Kit when he had fallen ill once.

When Kit was twenty six, a vampire that was close to Ezra snuck in and tried to drink from Kit, but got carried away and almost killed him. The only way to save Kit was to turn him, and that was what Ezra did. At this point, Kit was thrown into the prisons of Ezra's manor, and stayed there to be tortured for the next three hundered years. The human-turned vampire made many attempts to escape, but Ezra always brought him back and punished him harsher everytime.

In 1826, Ezra had finally let the vampire escape, but promised he would always be close by, and would take Kit back whenever he wanted. When he left, Viktor was quick to find him and take him in. It was at this point that Kit had changed his name from Christoper to Kit, the former name having been too tainted by Ezra. After about fifty years of being with Viktor, the witch brought the human-turned vampire to meet Niccolo, the Head of Vampires.

Niccolo trained Kit to be a more controlled vampire, and took him under his wing, offering him a place in his manor and a job. Kit wanted to refuse, but was made to live at Niccolo's manor for training and stayed there for about a hundred years. He worked as an officer for Nic, patrolling the small nearby settlements at the time before leaving and moving into Viktors new home outside of New Ashton, a recently established town. That was about fifty years ago.

About twenty years ago, Nic assigned Sebastian as a partner to work alongside Kit in New Ashton, as the small town where he resided had grown in population over the years. It took a while for them to warm up to each other, with Sebastian being a full-blown Pure Blood, but Kit was much older and had a lot of experience on them. They have a strange respect for each other now.

Physical Qualities:
Long, black, curly hair that reaches mid back, parted down middle with long bangs. Large, round amber eyes, long narrow nose. Very small frame, long delicate fingers, great for drawing and painting. Usually has hair in a ponytail or messy bun at the back of her head, usually lets it down completely after showering.

Personality:
Very sweet and soft at first, Vivian is very easy to get along with, but has hard set boundaries and will not let people cross them. Selfish and always thinking of her friends, Vivian usually hides or conceals any problems, trying not to drag her friends down with her. After warming up to her, Vivian becomes much more rowdy, cracking jokes that show her dark humor.

History:
Born in Mineral Wells, Texas to a young Cristian couple, Vivian only lived in the lone star state until she was four, moving to Ohio along with her new baby sister. Her family moved all around Ohio for the next few years, until her father left suddenly when she was ten, leaving her, her mother, and her two younger siblings at the time, her youngest brother only a year old. Vivian can't really remember much about her childhood, memories only really forming when she was around sixteen or so, and by that point, she had already been moved from Ohio to Wyoming, Colorado, and then left in Oregon when her mother died in a drunk driving accident, Vivian and her siblings being separated as they went into the foster system.

Stuck in Oregon, Vivian had no choice but to be tossed around the foster system until she was eighteen. At that point, she had graduated from high school and decided to attend community college in order to get a degree. Since she had been drawing and writing since a young age and didn't really have any idea of what else to do, she went for fine arts. Being near Portland at the time she finished high school, going to the community college there made sense.

During her first year in college, Vivian meets Ophelia in a shared psychology class, which was required by the college. They had hit if off instantly, becoming roommates in the second year, Vivian going down to meet Ophelia's family in the small town of New Ashton. When both women graduated from Portland Community College, they decided to move down to Ophelia's hometown together and work at her mom's cafe. Getting a small apartment together, the women continued to be roommates for another two years.

Personality:
Very headstrong, Niccolo had an insane sense of justice. He is friendly, but usually with motive. If he had no motive, then Niccolo can be quite cold and rude. He doesn't hate humans like many other vampires do, but he feels an affection towards them, similar to how humans care for their pets. Once on his good side (which can take a while), he is as sweet as can be, and cracks more jokes than you would expect. He isn't very affectionate, but he is willing and ready to comfort someone close to him if need be. Niccolo is very much in his head most of the time, either planning something or working through a task that had been given to him from the higher-ups.
