Movie Nights Movie Streams and Planning Ahead (for once)

Movie Nights Movie Streams and Planning Ahead (for once)

So I plan a lot of streams for October. Genuinely thinking I might make them weekly this year.

Current thinking is:

1. Our horror comedy stream (for the wimps)

2. Our hardcore horror stream (hardcorror?), things that are scarier and some more elevated horror.

3. Horror classics (Nightmare, Halloween, The Thing, basically I have so many they warrant their own stream)

4. I might straight up add a zombie movie night. I have like 15 Zombie films that get regularly requested and I always feel bad cutting them.

I love horror films, even that will require some hard cuts. I might even do one off streams like Scream or Final Destination seperately.

That said, I think any conjuring marathon would need to be run by someone else. I don't have the films and I frankly can't make myself enjoy them. If someone does, let me know and we can work something out.

Please don't say hardcorror ever again.

Yay for the wimp stream!

Also, what about the pirates/treasure planet stream >:O

Fiiiine.

Okay but seriously, I am planning a stream as we speak. Thinking maybe the first three POTC, Treasure Planet, Master and Commander, maybe even Mutiny on the Bounty (I hate Mel Gibson, but love Anthony Hopkins. It's a struggle).

The September stream schedule sounds great, no notes—though I would also humbly submit Atlantis as an additional option.

Re: horror—don't take this too seriously because I don't even know if I would attend, but a stream focusing on sci-fi horror specifically like Alien might be fun. Alien, The Thing (already recommended I am aware), Apollo 18, Cloverfield, Annihilation, I think these should at least be considered.

I would recommend werewolf horror movies… but the only one I am aware of is a Canadian schlocky gore flick that I don't even know the name was and even after smoking several bowls wasn't really any good. So. Ignore this section of the post. 🫠

I only wish to add to this list above, which I truly appreciate, with Event Horizon, 28 Days Later, Hereditary, Nope, The VVitch, The Ritual, and The Descent. I could go on and on as horror is my favorite genre of almost everything.

28 days later is making it into any Zombie stream.

The VVitch is 100% making any elevated horror stream. One of my favourite movies, period.

I haven't seen Nope, but considering Jordan Peele's usual quality, will 100% consider it.

I think I have The Ritual (2017)

Hereditary... call it a maybe. We watched that one last year and it is both an incredible film and one I am not sure I ever want to watch again :heh: . Midsommar is probably more likely

Yes, we're doing the Godzilla stream. There are an absurd number of movies though, so if anyone really wants one of them, speak now or forever hold your peace

please include the one with him and his moth bae <3 @Jahdeen pls translate for me

There’s several with Godzilla and Mothra. Definitely gonna want Godzilla King of the Monsters 2019 in there, or else firefly will probably start a rebellion that I will be the first member of.

The original 1954 film is really impactful even to this day. Same for Godzilla Minus One.

For more action-centered movies, Godzilla vs. Kong, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II.

And for just absolute ridiculous stuff, Godzilla vs. Megalon.

None of my suggestions are word of law, these are just my recommendations from the plethora of films I’ve seen so far

Godzilla Minus One. I also like the monster-verse ones (2014+). If you asked my son, Shingodzilla is the best 🤣

@Crankcase would want the 1998 dino godzilla

Okay. I will try to time out Godzilla 54, plus a whole bunch of the modern ones. Maybe all.

Depending on the results, I might need a second stream for other monster movies. Jurassic Park, King Kong, maybe Pacific Rim. Oh and of course, Land before Time.

I love the Godzilla movies, but the ones that I've enjoyed the most were Godzilla (2014), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). We might want to include Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire because in 2027 they're releasing Godzilla x Kong: Supernova.
