Born with an innate ability to use magic, Sonya is a natural talent and she is well aware of it. Choosing to not go to a witches academy, she instead was tutored at home by Thatcher, her familiar, who is a black cat with the soul of a witch who was killed many years prior. He acts as her guide and her compass to the world around her, though she had a nasty habit of not listening to him on.. certain topics. Nevertheless, Sonya loved to practice magic, and wants to make a difference in the world, though the head of the witches council, Elenwen Rothwester, sees her as a threat, and a danger. Her magic is untamed, wild and free, and Elenwen would gladly see the magic capped and contained. Refusing to be controlled, this has made Sonya a natural enemy of the council, whereupon once her family used to lead, before her great-grandparents passed away unexpectedly, and the Rothwesters took over. Despite knowing that she shouldn't use her magic in front of others, she likes to.. play around with frauds and phonies, visiting those who claim to have spiritual powers, and tripping them up purposefully. A girl has to get her kicks somewhere, right? Despite all of that, Sonya does love her fellow witches, and wants to see and build a world where things are different, where witches aren't so separated from other magical beings. Witches are distrustful creatures by nature, said to only mingle with their own kind.. but Sonya has never been very good at following the rules.

Luna only ever wanted to be normal - and she was good at it! Raised in a family of star-gazers, she had always been drawn to the night sky, felt empowered in the light of the moon's glow - but there had never been anything particularly unusual about it. Luna often spent her time visiting with the homeless of her city, bringing them food, money - anything they needed to make their lives just a little less difficult, going against the wishes of her family to do so. She built friendships with many of the homeless, and when they started to go missing.. she noticed. Nobody else cared, nobody else wanted to help, and so she took it upon herself to do so, and though she found the answers, she wished that she had not. Her friends had been turned into human experiments, poked and prodded by a man named Pete Redwood, who wished to examine the strange abilities that some in the world seemed to possess, kept secret and hidden away. He wished to unlock that power, to give abilities to whomever he saw fit. He didn't care how many innocents had to perish in his quest to perfect the formula. In her rage, something unlocked within Luna, an ability that enabled her to free those of her friends who remained. Her hair turned white, and she found herself able to defy the earth's gravity while in the moonlight, able to use moonlight to create weapons and summon the light itself as a defensive measure. Unsure as to how this happened, or if this ability had been inside of her the entire time, Luna tries to.. be normal. dyeing her hair in different colours to hide the glow of the white, all while searching for others like her, who may have answers.

Candice Redwood didn't have the easiest start to her life. With her mother murdered by her father when she was young, and him subsequently abandoning them, Candy did her best to raise her younger sisters, Lily and Sam, struggling to make ends meet, often stealing just to survive. She grew up with a.. understandable resentment of her father; in fact, she loathed him. Thankfully, Candy was a natural talent, and with the aid of her sisters, she was able to get into the business of music, something that brought her great passion. She built herself up from the ground up, and was able to build a life for her family, leaving them comfortable.. content. But it was a happiness that wouldn't last, as her father reared his head once more. He wanted her help, to help him find the source of unique powers and abilities, to extract that power, to give it to themselves. They would become invincible, unstoppable. Candy wanted nothing to do with it, and she decided in that moment, she would dedicate herself to stopping her father from hurting anybody else. She had taught herself to fight, and in her search and efforts to stop her father, came across a powerful weapon. A whip, able to bend the person she traps within it to her whim, at least.. to an extent. She has stopped a great deal of her father's schemes, but.. she can't help but feel as though he is building up to something bigger, and that worries her.
