The gist:
Mutants have been hidden among humans for centuries until their population became more abundant and more accidents started to happen which lead to their full exposure. The government started treating mutants as threats, so they came up with new laws against mutants. Soon, mutants were being rounded up left and right to be housed in special camps/prisons that are special built for them (i.e. they have special walls and equipment that suppress their mutant genes). Those who weren't caught in the first wave of roundups went into hiding and have been living in fear for some good years. No one dared take a stand against the injustice against mutants until a group of them decided that enough was enough and banded together to form a group called 'The Rebellion' to fight against the government. At first the government headed no attention to the group until they started to create quite a bit of trouble with busting out prisoners and screwing up prisoner transports.

The government decided to pull together a special task force with agents who are given special equipment, or experimental drugs, in order to mimic or duplicate powers of mutants in order for them to infiltrate The Rebellion and underground mutant society to shut them down once and for all.

Will the agents follow orders as given? Or will they default to the mutant side after seeing their side of things?

Mutants:
Think of X-Men mutants. They are normal people with powers/abilities that typical humans would not have. They can look different physically (i.e. look like some gator humanoid creature) or they can just look completely human. They could have obtained these powers through some type of radiation or exposure, illegal lab tests or injections, or they could have just been born with such abilities.

Humans/Normal People:
Pretty obvious explanation, these are characters who do not have any special powers of their own. Just your run of the mill average Joe kind of person.

Body Description: Thin, petite, pear shaped body. 32 C(ish) bust, flat stomach, defined curves, bubbly and round butt, very, very, very slightly toned legs. Long black hair that reaches lower mid-back.
Powers/abilities:
-Shadow manipulation: can control shadows, manipulate them and make them into any kind of shape that she wants, can make them solid objects if she wants. She can manipulate any shadow, as long as it is a shadow then she can manipulate it to her will. She can make the shadow seem like anything, so she can use them to create illusions, to an extent.
-Enhanced being: she can use her shadows to boost her strength and speed, and she can see in complete darkness.
-Shadow being: she can turn her body into a shadow or a black like mist. She can travel using shadows as well, melting into them and reappearing in a different shadow elsewhere, it's just a matter of her envisioning a place. Although, the distance matters, the longer the distance that she travels, the more tired she is.
Background:
Serena was born to two addicts who eventually sold her off to a private lab group in order to make some money. From the age of 6 to 19, Serena was experimented on. Serena, like many others, had latent genes within her that if awakened then mutations could manifest. Serena was subjected to various tests, procedures, experiments, and torture until her powers came to be. She was then put through rigorous training as the lab was a privately contracted to the government to try and produce mutant soldiers for off the grid work. After a while though, a lab personnel helped her escape after the two fell in with each other. They were on the run and hidden for a good two years before they were found and brought back to the lab. Her late lover was executed before her which caused her to snap completely. Serena still can't remember much about that moment after she blacked out, all she could ever recall was when she came to that the whole lab was destroyed, trashed, torn beyond recognition. Serena, along with some of the other test subjects, fled the place. Most went their own way, but some of them stuck with Serena and the small group of them eventually created The Rebellion after a while of being tired of being oppressed.

Body Description: Richard Baker, or Ricky as he often likes to be called, has a lean, athletic build, having been on the run for so long has hardened his body. His body is slightly tan, and very well defined, as he follows the philosophy of Healthy Body, Healthy Mind.
Powers/Abilities: Ricky Baker is a powerful Telekinetic. Richard can influence/manipulate/move objects/matter with his mind. Telekinesis is one of the basis of many superpowers that are based on "controlling/manipulating", and may evolve to the point that a Telekinetic can control anything at a subatomic, particle and universal level. Although, Ricky is far from that level of telekinetic ability. Telekinesis is Ricky's main power, as such, he has achieved what would be classed as an Advanced usage of it. The uses that Ricky has learned and used in the past are listed below. Keep in mind that some are harder to use than others. Some have even only been used once, in extenuating circumstances, with Ricky unable to replicate the power again.
Basic Level
Basic Level Abilities are generally very easy for Ricky to use. They are the base of his power, and he typically uses them on nearly a daily basis. Basic Level requires little concentration to initiate, and are the skills that Ricky has the most experience with.
  • Binding: To keep object/being from moving.
  • Levitation: To lift an object, e.g. raising a pitcher several inches into the air.
  • Orbital Field: To make objects and possibly energy orbit around the user.
  • Telekinetic Choking: To choke or strangle others without physical contact.
  • Telekinetic Grip: To grasp an object firmly in place, e.g. keeping the tides from washing a friend away.
  • Telekinetic Maneuver: To alter an object's directional course, e.g. changing what number a dice lands on or deflect an opponent attack.
  • Telekinetic Pull/Push: To pull objects towards the user or to push objects away from the user, e.g. yanking a book off a shelf or sliding a cup across a table.
Advanced Level
Advanced Level Abilities are the powers that Ricky is exploring now, in an attempt to push his powers. They generally require some concentration. As opposed to the Basic Level, which can occur as easily as flexing a finger, Advanced Level requires concentration, and belief in himself. Advanced Level is intermittent, often failing for no reason, as Ricky doesn't fully understand most of these powers yet, making them harder to use.
Unique Level
Unique Level Abilities are powers or techniques that Ricky has used Subconsciously, or consciously, while under stress. The key point of these abilities is that Ricky hasn't been able to use them since they first appeared. They are typically just raw telekinetic force, alluding to Ricky's potential for greater power, but as of now, he hasn't found a way to use these abilities, and there may be more added to the list. This really just flavour text at this point, with little to no impact on the character, aside from his backstory.

Richard was born a relatively weak telekinetic. Born in 1937. He had a pretty average life, hiding his abilities until the Vietnam War started. He was sent off to serve. It was a particularly bad time for him. Most of his squad was killed, and it forced him to start really trying to use his powers. It was really bad for his health, and mind. During one skirmish, while most of his squad was killed by the Viet Cong, Ricky unleashed a sonic pulse. It wasn't enough. He was captured and tortured for days.
It wasn't going well for Ricky, as the Viet Cong wanted to figure out what made him tick. Although, over the days, Ricky did exhibit an ability he would not be able to use again, and that was his wound inducement. After a week, it was time for Ricky to make his escape.

Richard tried real hard to escape. Using his powers to try and break the bonds, but they were too strong. He thought he could feel the bonds starting to loosen when he was blinded by a white flash.
He woke up stunned and dazed, unaware of what had happened. He was now in a hospital bed, in the present. He had jumped into the future. He had assumed he pulled himself into the future, but he had never been able to do something like that, and would never be able to do it again.

As he went to leave the hospital, he found he was being held against his will. More than that, he found that other people like him were being held against their will. He fought to escape, and he grabbed a newspaper. As he fought, he found his telekinesis was stronger than it had been in the past.
Hiding in a storage closet to compose himself after he managed to evade hospital security, he found out he was in the future and that mutants were being oppressed.
He left the storage closet and escaped the hospital to go find The Rebellion.

Alright, what the hell. Group games usually go a bit slower anyway... :D

I've fashioned this character on an all time favorite Marvel Hero, and she might work well as the opposite of Serena!

Powers/abilities: Meghan is a mutant with the ability to transduce sound into light. She can use any source of sound for this, with the exception of her own voice unless it is redirected to her via speakers. She stores this energy until she is willing and/or able to release it. She can use this energy in a variety of ways.

- Create flashes of blinding light
- Photon Blast (a beam of solid light that strikes with concussive force). This power can be maintained to provide limited levitation and flight.
- Create a light fog meant to hide and conceal
- Therapeutic Light to calm and increase blood circulation of allies (Minor healing and restful effects)
- Force Fields (Defensive, Self)
- Illumination and Strobe (emanating from her body, can cause confusing effects)
- She is immune to light and sound effects

Meghan is otherwise a highly skilled athlete and is a good hand-to-hand combatant. Above all else she is a very talented singer, musician and dancer.

Background: Meghan was born and raised in a normal family to seemingly caring parents. For the most part her life was pretty normal. She excelled at athletics throughout her school years and was a natural when it came to music. By the time she was sixteen she could play just about any instrument she touched and she was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. On her seventeenth birthday she performed at a high school talent show, and during the performance her powers first, manifested themselves, causing a series of strobes and flashes which caused several people in the crowd to go into epileptic shock while others were temporary blinded.

At first everyone was in denial, explaining the problem with the School Auditorium's lighting system. And it seemed as though it would pass until the powers manifested themselves at home. Her father, the man who claimed to love her dearly contacted the government to have her picked up. He told them his daughter was a freak of nature and she needed to be put away for everyone's sake. Before they could pick her up she ran, and she managed to evade pursuit until this day.

By the time she was nineteen she fell in with the rebellion. Using her natural flexibility, grace and athletics she trained in hand to hand combat with some of the rebellion's fiercest fighters. Meghan lives mostly as a barker on the streets of the city. She performs most mornings and early afternoons, making plenty of money to get buy thanks to her natural talents. She has used this time to learn the streets as well as anyone, from the entrances to the sewers to the subway systems and routes to other, secret tunnels dating back in the days of prohibition. She also knows the people who live on the streets and uses those contacts as a secret network of informants.

Rei is gracefully slender and of average-ish height. There is not a scratch on her paled skin, as anyone who dares to touch her without permission will have their neck snapped before the thought can even cross their minds. That, and she takes very good care of herself, her job requiring her to be a bit high-maintenance both mentally and physically.
Personality:
Rei's a woman of very few words, there's no doubt about that. Her silence can even be a tad unnerving at times, making no particular attempts to ease tension nor provide any reassurance. She simply exists within the precautionary confines of the background. Although, despite her stoney demeanour, there's something almost alluring about her. Her attentive gaze doing majority of the talking. And thus, many of her targets seemingly flock to her with little to no attempt on her part. There's something oh so sexy about a woman who lets her body do the talking, don't you agree? But it's important to note that the woman does indeed have a functioning mouth and vocal chords, only using them when absolutely needed. As she finds banter and such unnecessary, providing her with the perceptions of a robot at times. In fact, the only times her words are actually used, is when a job needs to be done, or when a her loved needs protecting. You see, even though Rei might come off as an lone wolf, she very much cares for the few people in her life, expressing it in ways that even THEY can't understand. Therefore, she is loyal to the bone and will do anything to keep them safe.
Bio:
Being raised by only a hardened father is one of the reasons why Rei is so stoic. You see, Tomo Watanabe wasn't always a demanding and cruel man. In fact, the generations of high pressure and stellar performance within the governmental ranks had corrupted him. His own father having been a notable general in the Great War (Second Sino- Japanese war) and the father before that having died in the marines. It's safe to say that violence runs deep within the Watanabe bloodline.

But alas his one and only child, the heir to his legacy, was birthed as a beautiful little girl. Unfortunately. Her resembling mother having died due to labour complications. Depressingly. And so, the over-expecting man had no other choice than to raise the young child into the man he'd always wanted to produce, the one who'd carry out with his legacy. Years and years of brutal training ensued, both psychological and physical torture bestowed under the masking of "love." The man refused to treat his child as anything other than a war machine, a lack of proper parental care evident in the child's too polished demeanour, having been scared into submission one would presume. But alas, some good did come from his harsh mentoring, as Rei had first picked up the unbelievable ability to throw knives at the age of five, the family dog being used as a manipulative target. To this day, she was glad that she had purposefully missed. But not glad to have been beaten as a consequence. No, something in her ticked. And so, tiny as she was, as seemingly soft-spoken and shy as she came off. She struck right back. Twice as hard. Her small over-worked body ramming against the mans agile, towering frame. It seemed that her stubborn defiance has followed her into adult hood.

However, the moment she had decided to hit back was the moment that Tomo realized that his daughter wasn't just some other child, some thing he could vicariously live through. No, she was special. That one act of unsuspected defiance was enough to convince him so. Thus, he eased off of the nearly sadistic teachings, soon understanding that she would not cooperate if anything she cared for was on the line. Just like her mother. Years had passed on from the impactful incident and Rei had grown stronger then ever, smarter than ever and more powerful then ever. She had learned how to survive in the wilderness with only the clothes on her back, knew how to shoot a crossbow with a broken hand, was an expert at releasing herself from iron shackles and of course, at deceiving and counter-acting her enemies. But what she had never come to learn was how to be normal, how to act in "day-to-day" situations. To her, those never existed. Everyday she had to be prepared for the worst of situations, but never the most natural. She had never had a normal childhood, never gotten to experience the things that normal children would. Thus, creating a fair bit of resentment against the only family she's ever had, as distant as they were.

But that doesn't matter now, now that she's an agent. A few months in the military had proven that she was far too advanced to room with pathetic soldiers and eat food meant for domesticated animals. No, working up the ranks and gaining credibility through her life-long training was far more rewarding than being just a soldier. No, now she was an asset.

Abilities: As the rebellion grew- and still continues to grow, the task force had needed their agents to become stronger at will, using whatever means to obliterate their societal enemy. And so it goes, being nearly the best in her field, Rei was "gifted" with a single needle. Even their most skilled agents needed to up the ante, even if it meant having to become one of them to destroy the rebellion. Thus, when Rei had been called into her supervisors office, she was given two options: take the serum or walk. Surprisingly, Rei had asked for time to mull it over- even when the answer seems somewhat obvious to the outside perspective. What can she say? She had never liked reaping the lives of the innocent, mutant or not. No, all of her missions were directed towards catching bad, bad people. Never an innocent. But in the end, her job was her passion, the only thing she lives for quite frankly. And not taking the serum meant that all of her hard work would be considered useless, she would never be able to show her face to her father, no, she'd become a disgrace to the Watanabe bloodline.

The drug was to be injected into the bloodstream, having been handcrafted & concocted through the abilities of pure science. The substance was black and sticky, smelling of coal and iron fumes. Though, when it pierced through her epithelial cells a heavy burning sensation ensued, causing a cry of pain to bubble up her throat. She still hasn't gotten used to the pain, even if it only lasts momentarily. From then on, the effects did nothing more then enhance her former abilities. Stamina, speed, agility, durability etc. (Think Black Panther without the godly ties). Wakanda forever.

Although the serum is strong, it only lasts for a short while. A few hours at best before Reí MUST reinject herself- as to follow instructions. Similar to how a diabetic must take their insulin from time to time. For, without her usual dosage, her mutant-like abilities will falter and she will return to a more human persona.

Name: Special Agent Hugo Hawkins AKA 'The Hive'

Orientation: Primarily Heterosexual, although occasionally runs across a male that revs his engine.

Weight: 325lbs, although that weight can vary wildly based on power use.
Body Description: Brown hair, blue eyes, with a fit, athletic build. He tends to dress nicely even when not working.
Powers/abilities:
Hugo has had an experimental nanohive implanted in his torso. The nanohive allows him to create millions of microscopic machines that can work together to accomplish a wide variety of tasks. The nanomachines, while not consciously directed, repair damage to Hugo's body, protect him from poisons and disease, and allow his body to consume, store, and utilize anything he can fit in his mouth. If the material is too hard to chew, the machines will break it down for him. His regenerative abilities are such that he can recover from any wound short of destruction of his brain/decapitation. Even if the hive itself is damaged or destroyed, the remaining nanomachines in his system can repair it.

Hugo can, however, use his nanomachines for a great deal more than that. He can kick the nanohive into high gear and vomit forth a swarm of nanites to affect the world around him. The nanites are great at disassembling things, reducing objects to their base components. They won't turn a car into a pile of spare parts, but rather reduce it to a pile of powered steel, rubber, and glass wet with a variety of different fluids within 30 seconds. A programming lock keeps him from using that function on living creatures.

Against living creatures, the nanoswarm re-configures itself into a swarm of mechanical bees or wasps. Their stingers stab through a target's epidermis and turn back into individual machines that attack the target's nervous system, causing extreme pain and paralysis. Separated from the swarm, those individual nanomachines run out of energy within just a couple minutes and will pass out of a target's system without any further complications or discomfort.

He can also form his nanomachines into simple objects. He can use them to create keys for locks, levers, shields, handcuffs, melee weapons, and things of that sort.

Being a living Nanomachine factory isn't without drawbacks. Hugo often gets cravings to eat unusual things. A car's bumper, silverware, an iPhone, etc. His body can also only store so much materials to make nanomachines out of. If his stock is exhausted, he'll need a 1/2 hour to replenish his stocks, assuming access to the necessary raw materials.

Outside of the abilities granted by his Nanohive, Hugo possesses military, counter terrorist, and law enforcement training. He can competently operate anything with wheels and is an accomplished marksman.

Background:

Hugo has always wanted to serve and protect. The Hawkins family had a proud line of servicemen and women and he followed in their footsteps. ROTC paid for his Law Enforcement degree and he joined the US army as an MP, then military investigator. The Secret Service recruited him where he served with distinction until a fateful day where he was all but killed protecting the President from a mutant attack. With his brain dying, the government used an experimental treatment to save his life, giving him unnatural abilities in the process. Now, he specializes in countering Mutant terrorism, still trying to keep people safe.

Body Description: Remy is an average woman who has a knack for running so she has great legs. Her hair is wavy and reddish, only going as far as to her shoulders, while her eyes are dark brown. She likes wearing casual clothing, normally just the first shirt she sees in her closet and some jeans. Her skin is nicely fair and freckles scattered her face.

Powers/Abilities: Remy took an experimental drug that allows her to have the ability to turn invisible. Unfortunately, she doesn't have the best control of it and often turns invisible by accident. The drug only works a month or so she needs to take it once a month. She was also given a special piece of technology that she wears on both of her wrists (like thick metal bracelets) to allow herself to become intangibility, or go through things, at will.

Background: Remy had three things going for her: being the daughter of an FBI agent, her father, a military general, her mother, and having a good slight of hands. She was extremely great at swiping things without people noticing and was cool to play it off. She didn't steal because she needed to, she just liked the thrill and excitement of it. She had the thrill to steal ever since she was a small child. It was just little things, things that most people wouldn't notice too much. Her kind face only made it easier to grab at whatever she wanted. She was essentially a skilled thief and liar. Things coincide when the government recruited her for a "special assignment" and her own father and mother nudged her to do it, saying that it would be a good thing to topple over her dozens of theft records. She had enough training at a young age thanks to her mom, though she was a little rusty, and complete of her own skill to do it. So, purely out of impulse, she chose to give the government a try.

She also preferred the nickname "Remy" since she thought her real name was too bland and tasteless.

Powers/abilities: Isabelle is an ordinary human with no powers or special abilities. However, she has amazing combat skills and because of her excessive training, she is fast and strong for her size. She prefers not to be the damsel in distress and makes sure she's able to handle herself. She has great shooting skills and was top of her class. She has good knowledge of healing, since she used to be in the military and received a lot of training.

Background: Isabelle grew up in a pretty normal family, her mother was a doctor and her father was a top secret agent but to the rest of the world, including Isabelle, he was a business man who worked away. Isabelle was pretty popular in school, being a cheerleader and dating one of the most popular guys in school and the mutant world was invisible to her. It was time for Isabelle's parents to meet her boyfriend and they invited him over for dinner one night, only fir her father to start acting weird. Isabelle went to the bathroom but ran back when she heard gunshots and saw Josh, bleeding from his shoulder and stomach. Just before Isabelle ran to him, he electrocuted Isabelle's father to death before bleeding out, himself. Those events forced her mother to tell her everything about her father's job and mutants. Ever since those events, Isabelle joined Military school and then got recruited as an agent, devoting her life to finding and locking up Mutants for the safety of humans.

Body Description: Haven has a rather slender body and doesn't appear to have the most athletic build. They have black hair, smokey blue eyes, and usually wears anything that looks unkept.

Powers/abilities: Haven can turn their body completely to an ash-like smoke. This ability allows them to shapeshift into anything they want even other people or objects. Over the years they have even found that they can turn their body into other elements. This can be used to turn their body itself into a bomb or other useful reactions. Though by doing this they are hurting themselves. If they lose enough mass from this they can go unconscious or die. They can always heal themselves by consuming more mass, however. This mass can be more smoke, dirt, or water. It just takes more time if the substance isn't smoke or ash. This ability also makes them resistant to many types of damage as their body isn't completely solid.

Background: Haven had a very simple life with their parents. For all, they knew they were normal. They woke up and went to school every day with their parents. Their mother was a chemistry teacher and their father was the school's psychologist. Haven repeated the same normal day over and over. Or at least they did until their powers manifested.

They were sixteen at the time their powers first appeared. They were at school and were being bullied. Haven felt their entire body vibrating as they cried on the floor the bully standing above them shouting. Then everything went dark and Haven felt like they were everywhere in the room. When they calmed down their body reformed and Haven saw the bully on the ground coughing up ashes. The bully looked at them in fear and forced out the word "freak" towards them.

After that, all Haven remembers is running. Their parents loved them and knew it wasn't their fault but they also knew they couldn't stay with them. The government would find them and do who knows what to them. So their parents made them run. They were on their own for a few years until they found the rebellion. They are the ones who taught them how to control their powers and they gave them a reason to live.

Body Description: As you can see, Harold is a very skinny man. You might've also noticed that he has big eyes and thick facial hair. He occasionally carries a guitar or a ukulele.

Powers/abilities: Before we get into Harold's abilities and powers, we have to first discuss that he suffers a mental disorder quite similar to anxiety and sleep paralysis. Most of his abilities cause him to get more anxious and see more nightmares, if he's pushed over the edge, he could possibly suffer a breakdown or a seizure.

Noted Madness- Harold can play a peaceful melody that can cause weak minded targets to cry or even suffer from manic depression, he can even sing to trigger this effect.

Octave- Harold plays eight notes of eight different tones of eight different pitches towards a target.
There are two variants to this ability: Bass, which causes the target to be numbed for 2 minutes. and Treble, which causes the target to suffer heavy ringing in their ears for 3 minutes.
(Note: This ability can be modified to make the previous effects last longer or have a stronger effect, the longer/stronger an effect is, the more anxious he gets.)

String Knives- Harold uses incredibly high pitched notes to send music capable of injuring targets, with enough effort, it can amputate limbs or destroy buildings. (Note: This ability at its best can cause Harold to see ghosts that he'll try to kill with the same ability. This can put him in an endless loop and render him unstoppable)

String Mace- Similar to String Knives, Harold sends low pitched notes that knock back or concuss enemies/objects. It can also knock down towers and move water.

Music- Harold can play an inspiring song to lighten moods and rally people. This ability also affects animals that are sensitive to sound, especially dogs.

Background:
Harold was born as a weirdo, he suffers from anorexia and paranoia. He can see nightmares that he'll try to destroy with anything he can get his hands on. Harold is also a capable musician, his control over his voice is non like any other. For many years, he was pushed around, especially so after the government started treating him worse. He met a special woman, whose name is too precious to be mentioned. He found peace in her, but she died at the hands of the government. Without further treatment or thought, he decided to fight against society, because all they did was fight against him. But he's vulnerable.

Personality:
Marcus is a wise ass by far. He walks the fine line between genius and crazy and relies heavily on his wile-coyote tactics. He isn't afraid to speak his mind and thrives on creating awkward situations. He flirts with just about anything that walks and no one is quite sure if he is indeed straight or gay.

Body Description:
Marcus is tall with a swimmers build. His blonde hair is usually slicked back or a bit discheveled. Angular features with deep brown eyes. His attire usually varies based on the situation. Most often he wears simple BDU pants and a t-shirt.

Powers/abilities:
Oddly enough Marcus is actually human. An ex-special forces member who specializes in long range marksmanship and guerrilla warfare tactics. After leaving the military he joined up with a PMC and developed a network of connections around the world.

Background:
Marcus had always been a troublemaker and it wasn't long before the law caught up with him. The judge gave him an option, serve time or join the military. Marcus decided to enlist with the Marines and thrived. Being one of the youngest to ever join the ranks of Scout Sniper. It wasn't long after he married a fellow Marine, Shelly Willis.

Eventually Marcus left the military and became a Private Military Contractor. Happily married, making good money Marcus's life couldn't get much better. But, all good things must come to an end. It wasn't until the Government tried to recruit him to the anti-mutant task-force that his wife revealed the truth. She was a mutant and she was scared.

Marcus and Shelly went on the run but during a skirmish trying to get away Shelly died. Since then Marcus has joined up with The Rebellion and helping fleeing mutants. Using his various contacts and information network to get mutants to safety. Still he searches for the truth of what happened to his wife and who killed her.

Body Description: Relatively muscular, however more so toned than large. Arina has long straight hair that she dyes relatively often and is covered head to toe in tattoos. She has light blue, icelike eyes and pale skin.


Powers/abilities:

Arina's powers are all those of an ice elemental, wielding the power of frost and ice. Most of her powers directly tie into how cold her body temperature is, her blood a cool 40-50° Fahrenheit usually but can be cooled at her will with time and effort. Usually, this makes her grow stronger the longer a fight goes on, but susceptible to surprise attacks. Anger, adrenaline, and fear can also drop her body temperature rapidly outside of her control. The lower her temperature gets, though, the less control she has overherself anf the more she acts on animalistic instincts...including her anti-human philosophy.



Ice Plating: A layer of ice spreads across Arina's skin over the period of thirty seconds to a minute, depending on the thickness. This provides her with a layer of protection similar to armor, stronger the lower temperature her body is and the thicker it is.


Cryosmithing: Arina can create ice in her hand and make it into anything that she wants (similar to a green lantern dynamic). This applies to weapons, but also to more practical things, such as creating ladders or tools. The structures form faster and are stronger.


Frost bomb: At temperatures lower than 0° Fahrenheit, Arina can launch a ball of ice at a location that can freeze the surrounding area or explode into shrapnel much like a grenade.


Freezing touch: Arina can freeze anything she touches at temperatures lower than 20° Fahrenheit, barring obvious circumstances such as fire itself.


Ice Impaler: At temperatures lower than -50° Celsius, Arina can draw massive spikes of ice from the ground, larger and tougher the colder her body temperature is.


General ice wielding: Arina can shoot blasts of ice and freeze things, stronger when lower temperature


Absolute Zero: Only available at absolute zero, or 0° Kelvin. Arina drops her body temperature to the lowest temperature possible, freezing everything around her and creating a polar vortex around her. This requires a significant amount of energy, time, and adrenaline. Additionally, Arina loses complete control over her actions and acts completely subconscious. Everything she touches or gets near freezes solid, from people to oxygen gas, and she can freeze people to death with ease.


Background: Arina was born in Talinn, Estonia to a mother who didn't want a child in the first please. She was given up as soon as she was able to be given and was put in the foster care system. She displayed strange physical characteristics at a young age, her body always cold to the touch, the air around it a bit colder than elsewhere in the orphanage. Whenever her temperature was taken, it was always far lower than a human's should be. This was all attributed to error, though, until she was in elementary school.


An encounter with a bully had left the entire school playground frozen in a layer of ice..in the dead of summer. Video footage showed the bully in question, who had been frozen solid and was miraculously saved from frostbite, picking on a confused and then angry Arina. All of a sudden, a blast of snow radiated off the girl and froze everything. A mutant power. The orphanage realized quickly that they were in over their heads and tried to figure out what to do, but Arina was kidnapped before they could even figure that out.


Arina was taken by a criminal syndicate who wanted to use her powers for their own gain. Subject to 3 years of abuse, torment, and psychological trauma, the now 14 year old Arina came out a scarred girl. Then it happened again, another year when she was 15 until she was 16. And again for six months when she was 17. When she emerged from this third kidnapping, body scarred and bruised once again, her mindset completely changed. Humanity didn't deserve her mercy, they didn't deserve her respect, they didn't deserve life. She began to think that humanity was simply how they were to mutants because they were afraid and knew that mutants were the way forward. So, she was further proved by the anti-mutant measures taken by human governments. She joined the rebellion to get back at humanity for trying to destroy her and her kind...but she's not interested in mere freedom. She wants earth for the mutants, humans don't have a place alongside her.

Size-shifting: Able to change size at will, she often uses it to trick other
Poison Bite: Fangs filled to the brim with venom, able to put a human to death. For a mutant, unconscious
Silk: Able to patch clothing, skin, etc. with a hard silk that pulls out of her nails. She was a former medic in Russia

Personality: Tricksterish. bubbly, optimistic, quiet

Background:
She lived a somewhat normal lifestyle in Moscow, Russia. She was a hunter of animals, having almost shot another mutant, she realized she wasn't alone. She set out on a search for others like her, she came upon this group of agents.
Spider was a former medic, being fired for her powers, the fear of coworkers. She set off to show the world that mutants can be better then lore.
