~Bio, Lore, & Noteworthy Feats~

- Upon completing a vigorous rite of passage to her people at just 8 years old, Lexa received elven runes that covers most of her body: forehead, cheeks, lower neck, collarbone, back, abdomen, waist, hips, arms, legs, hands and fingers. The ritual consisted of dipping ancestral needles, bones of some ancient creature, into ink made from the soot of sacred wood mixed with sea badger oil. Upon completion, the consumption of a mystical tea brewed from mushrooms called gleaming frost caps, which grew from the excrement dropped by an astral, or inter-dimensional creatures called shrills, imbued the elven runes with the powers of her ancestors. These cold-based powers could be called upon by speaking in the tongue of her ancestors, and only if weather conditions permitted their use. In cold temperatures, the runes begin to give off a faint icy-blue glow, and the colder the temperature, the sharper the glow - the more powerful the magic.

- Lexa is stoic and fierce. She is a force to be reckoned with despite her lithe frame, and what she lacks in stature, Lexa makes up for in ferocity. Not only does she hail from a warrior tribe living in the incredibly harsh environments of the tundra plains, surviving off the brutal and merciless land, but they endured tribal warfare with neighboring communities established upon the plains generation after generation. She is stern and ruthless, but also compassionate and driven. When her mind is set on something there is no changing it without a very convincing reason. She has a long fuse and lots of patience, but when that fuse ends she has a terrifying temper. To her friends and loved ones she is light hearted and humorous, but practical. Her stoicism goes out the door when she is comfortable with someone, and she is very opinionated and ambitious. She will stop at nothing to do what she believes is right, even if that means she is in opposition to those she respects or cares for.

- She was then taken by Luna's Chosen, a tirianthrope who turned her into the white weretiger she is, and continued her training in combat and survival skills. She was well on her way to having become the embodiment of a honed weapon by the time Baelezar, an old werebear, took her in and continued training her in other arts and skills as well. She's very intelligent, compassionate, and civilized, but her enemies see the fierce and brutal savage she is deep down. Her fingernails are inherited from the snow elves, and are like tiny daggers. She's used them on numerous occasions to impale, and literally rip her enemy's hearts out from their chests. She has piercing purple eyes, elven fangs that are very reminiscent of a cat's canines, and is often seen with war paint across her face. In her weretiger form she takes the form of a white tiger. Her eyes become a fiery emerald green and her stature grows much larger. She maintains her feminine frame however. Lexa has mastered her inner beast to the point they are as one, and has the ability to induce a were-beast, or tirianthrope, back to their natural state via a sort of hypnosis. She can change to and from her two forms with relatively painless ease, up to a point. Each transformation takes its toll and there are limits to how often transformations take place.

- Upon rescuing a Celestial Frost dragon named Apolytomideniko, or Niko for short, from a rampaging Inferno, Niko gifted Lexa with a sword she'd forged a mellinia ago called Frostbite. Frostbite's blade is black and shimmers a midnight blue along its edges. The hilt of the sword appears to be made of ice, an icy stalactite protruding from the hilt in the opposite direction than the blade, almost like a dagger, making Frostbite somewhat of a double-edged weapon. Even when sheathed in its scabbard, Frostbite emanates incredibly cold temperatures, allowing Lexa to channel the powers of her ancestors even in less than ideal weather conditions. The blade can freeze blood upon contact, causing instantaneous frostbite in its victims wounds. It can nullify certain fires and other heat based enemies/environmental hazards as well.

- She possesses an Astrum Binding, an ethereal chord that links one soul to another across the stream of infinite lifetimes throughout interdimensional time and space. Celestial entities and divine gods don't even fully comprehend them, for astrum bindings have existed since the beginning of time, as much a part of the fabric of the universe as the stars are; as time itself is. Astrum Bindings are only visible to higher dimensional beings like divine gods and other celestial beings, though there are indications the bearers of the mystical chords can observe and feel the souls at the other end, its purposes unclear and often misunderstood or misinterpreted by those able to study them, and/or interact with them.

- She and Baelezar created a sanctuary for all tirianthropes wishing to live a life of peace where they can overcome their curse and learn to tame their inner beasts and take control of their transformations. They split tirianthropes into four categories: Canines, felines, reptilian/amphibian, and those who didn't fit into the other three. Lexa and Baelezar took up the mantle of Alpha of their respective groups, Baelezar also claiming the title of the ultimate alpha and overseer of the other alphas. Lexa views tirianthropy as a rebirth of sorts, and that everyone, no matter how good or bad, deserves a second chance upon becoming one of them. However, she wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone who squanders that second chance, endangering anyone accepted into her home. Her beta, or second in command, would eventually fall to a werelion named Gudoza.

~Bio, Lore, & Noteworthy Feats~

- Gudoza Asaju was raised in the city of Raj'Viidak, a kingdom nestled between a desert-like savanna and lush green jungles. He served his lords as the Knight Commander of the city's elite protectors, the Knights of the Sacred Flame, until he was afflicted with tirianthropy, an affliction that changes people into rabid monstrous beasts. He was stripped of his rank and title and exiled into the wilderness when he lost control and slaughtered dozens of innocent refugees, as well as one of the city's lords that had been accompanying him. He eventually found his way to The Den where he attempted to take Lexa's title as Alpha of the felines. She humiliated and humbled him, choosing to let him live instead of killing him for his audacity, and Gudoza grew to respect and appreciate Lexa and the lesson she had taught him.

- He became acting Alpha when Lexa mysteriously disappeared, and led a full frontal attack against their enemy, The Bone Collectors, whose sole purpose is to hunt down and annihiltae all of their kind, wiping them from the face of the earth.

- Gudoza is practical and logical, and often times the voice of reason. He goes out of his way to consciously push hiw own interests aside and adopt the mindset Lexa had portrayed as Alpha. He is fiercely loyal, but capable of making harder decisions that may bring his loyalty into question. However, these hard decisions aren't made in bad faith. He put his beta in charge of the felines, and is currently searching for his missing alpha.

YUKUZA

Birth Name: Unknown
Preferred Name: Yukuza
Sex: Male
Birthplace: Valisvahha - The Savani Elves's ancestral home
Race: Savani Elf
-Sub-Race: Tirianthrope - Werehyena
Age: 63
Height: 6'1" (elf) / 8'5" (hyena)
Weight: 200 lbs (elf) / 380 lbs (hyena)
Skin Tone: golden brown - giraffe-like spots
Hair Color: brown (to shoulder blades)
Eye Color: gold-ish orange (elf) / midnight blue (hyena)
Body Type: Lean/Athletic
Voice: Melodic/Average

~Bio, Lore, & Noteworthy Feats~

- Was turned and sentenced to death by his people, in order to free his spirit. Lexa convinced the Savani elves to allow her to fix him, and used her abilities to revert Yukuza back into his elven form before the city's eyes, splitting their beliefs and causing much controversy. He was exiled from his home, and chose to travel by Lexa's side and aid her on her quest.

- Niko gifted the Savani elf an enchanted charm that would prevent his transformations, with the exception of the full moon. Upon falling into a magically-induced coma, his charm was lent to a massive group of tirianthrope slaves Lexa had freed and sent to The Den. Yukuza is presently still in a coma.

BAELEZAR

Baelezar is a founder of The Den, and Alpha of Alphas, as well as his own sect of kin. He found Lexa when she was but a girl, lost and abandoned, and took it upon himself to fill a paternal role in her life. She was already a weretiger at this point, with frighteningly strong control over the affliction. He showed her love and what it meant to be part of a family. She was already trained in the art of self defense among other formidable fighting styles, and he continued to train her to be a strong and powerful leader, a woman capable of standing on her own against all odds. Together, they founded The Den when she was much older. Lexa has never seen him outside of his werebear form, and neither has anyone else that she is aware of. He either only changes forms when he is alone, or has remained in his werebear form for decades, a feat that should be impossible to achieve.

Presently, Baelezar has vanished. His whereabouts are a mystery, and after many attempts to find him, his people had to move on. The mystery of Baelezar looms over Lexa as she ventures out on her own in search of answers to questions she would never have known to ask if she wasn't led to believe he'd greatly wronged ancient god-like beings called Druids, who tasked her with the responsibility of bringing him to them. Upon searching his empty quarters deep within the Den, she discovers he is associated with: 1. the Bone Collectors (an order of knights and hunters whose sole purpose is to hunt down their kind). And 2. The man that had taken her from her home as a young child, and whom turned her into a weretiger, both occurring beneath the unio lunarum eclipse: when both moons are full and align in the night sky. The man, Jarik, was supposedly one of Luna's Children's disciples, the Goddess of the Moons' Chosen elite.

Baelezar's mysterious association with these two factions, as well as with the Druids, has made his disappearance all the more concerning, and remains a mystery to be solved.

Everyone loves shifters. An old friend of mine used to make them all the time. Coming up with an equal who isn't obnoxiously strong is difficult.

KADAJ

Birth Name: Unknown
Preferred Name: Kadaj
Sex: Male
Birthplace: Unknown
Race: Unknown (calls himself a shade)
-Sub-Race: Unknown
Age: Unknown
Height: 5;9"
Weight: 175 lbs
Skin Tone: ashen gray/pitch black
Hair Color: black
Eye Color: bright yellow
Body Type: Lean/Athletic
Voice:

~Bio, Lore, & Noteworthy Feats~

- He awoke in a strange world, unfamiliar with who or what he is. He quickly learned he was different, quite unique in fact. Nobody he came across possessed the innate abilities he had. Darkness clung to him as if it was a partof him, an extension of his will. So symbiotic was this relationship, that the darkness often acted of its own accord in order to protect him from harm. His differences however, turned most against him, and he was shunned from most places he visited. Civilization ostracizing him imbedded a deep resentment within him, and he turned to a life of crime, his hurt turning to apathy, and his apathy becoming an absence of empathy. Kadaj found that his unique abilities lent themselves to the skillset of a thief and assassin...until he met Arthur, a wealthy man who'd also been ostracized throughout his life. He took pity on the shade, and together they sought Kadaj's origins. It would be years before any worthwhile leads were found, and in the meantime, Kadaj's time as an assassin dwindled as he focused on more ethical opportunities, at Arthur's behest. Their friendship didn't completely snuff out the apathywithin the shade though, and he still killed anyone who got in his way or posed a threat to his goals, or jobs.

- Kadaj can draw surrounding darkness to him, rendering him invisible. He can spread his darkness outward, dimming, and completely darkening light within a certain vicinity. The dark tendrils clinging to him can interact with other people and objects, and he can shadow step from shadow to shadow, traversing great distances. He isn't particularly fondof light however, and keeps himself completely covered in layers of clothing, his black leather armor, and a cloak he keeps over his face.

- His weapons of choice are two double-edged daggers.

DORJE

Birth Name: Dorje Unknown
Preferred Name: Dorje (a.k.a. The Hurricane)
Sex: Male
Birthplace: The Eastern Air Temple
Race: human
-Sub-Race: Air Nomad
Age: 32
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 225 lbs
Skin Tone: white
Hair Color: dark golden-brown/black
Eye Color: chestnut
Body Type: Lean/Athletic/Toned-Muscular
Voice: Burdensome/deep-ish/wise

~Bio, Lore, & Noteworthy Feats~

- This story takes place roughly 9,000-9,500 years before the events of ATLA, and sky bison have not been adopted into airbending philosophy or culture as of yet, so their airbending tattoos remain as they were seen during Avatar Wan's time.

- Monk Dorje was raised in the Eastern Air Temple among his peers, and followed the path more aligned with a spiritual guru, not earning his airbending tattoos until his late teens/early twenties. He was able to travel to the spirit world quite effortlessly from a young age as a preteen, likely assisted by a secret field of flowers he discovered on another mountain top. He fully embraced the air nomad ways, a very spiritual young man, when he accidentally killed nearly an entire village. This shattered his spirit, and in a self-induced exile, Dorje turned to alcohol to numb his pain, and earned a roof over his head and a bed to sleep in by championing in a seedy tavern's fighting pit for eight years. In this time he intentionally punished himself, isolating himself from others who may or may not have cared about him, losing fights, remaining in a drunken state the majority of the time, and not allowing himself to experience anything positive.

- Dorje grew out his hair, and now has long dreadlocks, and wears a headband he uses to hide his airbending tattoos. He wears his fighting gloves anytime he is not alone, as well as black and brown leather armor. It wasn't until a chance meeting with a waterbender mercenary that he learned of Avatar Nanook's passing, the third Avatar, whose death aligned with the time he had exiled himself eight years prior, that he attempted to put an end to the self-induced misery, and venture into the Earth Dynasties in search of an eight-year-old child before they were discovered by a warlord or worse. The Earth Dynasties were locked in constant tribal warfare, and had been for generations, each always seeking a way to conquer the others. The air nomads knew far more about the nature of the Avatar and the Avatar cycle than any other nation in the world, but he knew the air nomads would not involve themselves in worldly affairs, nor political ones. No longer counting himself among them, he felt it was up to him to find the young Avatar.

- Dorje befriended a gliding-fox named Rustle in his time drinking and fighting. Rustle is a hybrid between a sugar glider and a fox. He is roughly the size of a house cat, and has decided to venture forth alongside the fallen monk.

CASTOR DONOVAN

Birth Name: Castor Donovan
Preferred Name: Castor
Sex: Male
Birthplace: Unknown
Race: human
-Sub-Race: gloomstalker/pending
Age: 40
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 225 lbs
Skin Tone: white
Hair Color: brown
Eye Color: dull green
Body Type: Athletic/Muscular
Voice: gritty/deep

~Bio, Lore, & Noteworthy Feats~

- After the gloom fell over Cedara when a star fell from the heavens and crashed into the planet, leagues of mindless, savage, and monstrous beasts swarmed over the lands annihilating anything and everything in their path. All seemed lost as hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives with this rising tide, until the first Paragons, magically shielded safe havens capable of housing hundreds to thousands of people, were founded. Before the star fell upon Cedara, magic didn't exist. Stories from ages past spoke of such things, but they were merely fairy tales, until the elves of Cedara learned to harness the energy from the pieces of the fallen star, creating the first school of magic in recorded history. These stones were called fell, and large quantities of these fell stones were what gave rise to the Paragons, which began sprouting up across the globe, as well as smaller havens capable of safeguarding anywhere between a dozen to a few hundred people, though these weren't called Paragons. The people were safely tucked away, but leaving the safety of the Paragons for whatever the case may have been, be it trading goods, seeking out loved ones, etc, posed an incredible threat. The gloom ruled the wastelands.

- Castor was a renowned and highly respected gloomstalker, an order of trained and specialized monster slayers. They rose to the occasion once Paragons were established, to come and go, traverse the wildernesses of the wasteland, and slay the beasts lurking there. More specifically, the archprimuses, beasts capable of rallying and organizing beasts under their influence. The greater the archprimus's influence, the greater their power, and in the gloom's beginning, grand archprimuses built themselves entire armies...the last of which were killed by the gloomstalkers decades ago. A full-fledged gloomstalker receives fragments of fell stone, enabling them to use simple, yet depending on the circumstances, powerful magic. Gloomstalkers were praised and worshipped as heroes across Cedera, seldom needing to fend for themselves anywhere they went, as citizens would jump at the opportunity to help them in any way possible. Becoming a gloomstalker was a long and strenyous process that could take many years. It was arduous and demanding, but those who became full-fledged gloomstalkers stamped their names in books of legend, having already killed scores of beasts without the aid of magic as part of their training...while shadowing a master gloomstalker of course.

- He was stripped of his title as a gloomstalker and exiled from the order, and subsequently from Paragon after Paragon, after being possessed by a foreign entity. This entity, known as Asajrej, is capable of taking over Castor's body completely sometimes, reasons yet to be determined, and does not align itself with Castor's more ethical approach. It is a thing of chaos, very sporadic and unpredictable. Asajrej cannot be controlled or contained, and it is for all these reasons that Castor was cast out, ostrocized for having become a threat to himself and others, and no longer capable of being the protector he was meant to be.

My character(s) from The Legend of Zafiria

Birth Name: Radiya [Ruh-dee-yuh] (feminine)/Rakim [Ruh-keem] (masculine)
Preferred Name: Radiya/Rakim
Sex: Female
Birthplace: Azhara
Race: human
Faction: Scribes of the Sapphire Quill
  • Title: (Honorary) Keeper of Lore
  • Vocation(s): bibliopegist (book binding/reparation), calligrapher, curator, & archivist
  • Ambition: Seeker of Lore
Class: Scholar Rogue/Fighter

Weight: 130 lbs/170 lbs
Skin Tone: light brown
Hair Color: dark brown
Eye Color: golden brown
Body Type: Fit
Voice: honeyed & playful/rich, deep & mellifluous

~Bio, Lore, & Noteworthy Feats~

Radiya is a scholar and historian, and has been a member of the Scribes of the Sapphire Quill since a young child. She was a homeless little urchin in the midst of being persuaded to join others like her at the bottom of the totem pole within the Scorched Shadows, and though she befriended some of those children and nearly took them up on the offer a handful of times, it was the great library of Azhara within the temple of her guild that called to her. She was drawn to the old books, consuming all they had to offer, one after the next. The guild members took note of the child, reading their endless supply of books in every corner of the temple. One day she brought a damaged book to a guild member and they offered to show her how they repaired it, and it was then the guild offered her a place among their ranks. Her fascination with the books and reading had only been the beginning, for when she laid her eyes upon old artifacts, ancient delicate puzzles, capsules meant to hold secrets from the unworthy, etc, her fascination grew exponentially.

Radiya thrived at every task given to her, quickly making a name for herself as one of the best bibliopegists the guild had ever seen. She was well known for her thirst for knowledge and adventure, and jumped at every opportunity to join a Seeker of Lore on their errand runs through Azhara. She picked their brains and befriended many of them, but alas, their jobs kept them away most of the time. It was always a big event whenever a Seeker of Lore returned to Azhara, and she was among the first scribes to greet them. She became so enamored by their tales, such an abundance of them, she fell in love with the idea of joining their ranks, despite knowing only men could be seekers. That fact didn't stop her from learning how to fight and use weapons in her free time, and the better she got at it, the more nimble she became in her maneuvers, the more she convinced herself she could convince the guild to let her join the seekers.

She'd go on to spend years picking little details and pieces of lore and knowledge from many, many ancient texts, as it had become her job to not only repair and bind the books, but to duplicate and catalogue them as well. She chased down these pieces of old knowledge until she discovered where she believed an ancient ship to have wrecked long ago, many thousands of years, when she believed the Kamali Desert sat at the bottom of the sea. In her years-long pursuit of this knowledge, she had learned much about the Kamali Desert...things that were buried for ages, and were no longer common knowledge among the Azharans. She used this knowledge to continue her pursuit of this ship, all in her attempt at becoming a Seeker of Lore and traveling the world.

Radiya is intelligent and persuasive, just as sharp with her tongue as she came to be with her weapons of choice: daggers. She carries on her person a charmed spyglass that can do more than just see further away, and it had first grabbed her attention because it was gold and sapphire, as if she was meant to take it. She also possesses a few other magical trinkets she has still not entirely figured out, but keeps the arcanic items on her at all times. Her most treasured possession is a silver tooth she pried from the jaw of a long dead pirate that allows her to change her voice, and when she does, others see her as who they perceive would be speaking with whatever voice she uses. She has an eye for treasure, especially the historical kind. She's loyal and has integrity, a heart of gold, but won't hesitate to lie and connive her way in her pursuit of knowledge and uncovering buried secrets.
