"Since he was small, had no luck at all. Nothing came easy to him." - Spread Your Wings (Queen)
At first glance, one would have thought Michael had hit the jackpot. Born into a wealthy Japanese family, he must have had a silver spoon in his mouth. But Michael was conceived out of wedlock when his mother, lonely ever since her husband had died, had a drunken one-night stand with a visiting American businessman. This was something that would bring shame to their family. He was only given the Yamazaki name because, to her shame, his mother couldn't recall his father's actual name. A fact that his older sister would never let him forget. Being that he wasn't a true Yamazaki, and therefore not entitled to any of the Yamazaki fortune, was forced by his sister to take over the chores and, once he was old enough, take over the cooking, as well. This forced him to become quite the cook, however, as his sister would punish him for his cooking not being to their or their mother's liking.
His school life wasn't much better. While considered one of the better students, he was also shunned by the other students. His red hair and teal eyes singled him out, making him a magnet for bullying. More often than not, he found himself getting picked on by girls. Though other boys did tease him, he would at least attempt to stand up to them. With the girls, however, he would always end up submitting to them. Doing their homework for them. Finishing group projects by himself. One even forced him to prepare her lunches every day.
As he grew older, he learned that he, unlike his sister, would have to earn his way in the world. Her college education was all but a guarantee, Michael would have to depend on his grades and scholarships to attend college. Upon graduation, he would have to work a job to pay for his apartment while she would be gifted a house of her own on the family estate. As far as the family was concerned, he was on his own. Only being summoned home every once and a while, when his mother or sister had found some use for him. He knows, at this point, that they are merely using him. Yet he still shows up when called, like a good puppy.
