They say if you tear off one of a fairy’s wings, they must do whatever you say and you can essentially hold them prisoner forever. However, fairies are extremely difficult to catch, let alone successfully take one of their wings off their backs.
One day, young eighteen year old mage Eliana is dragged to the Magical Realm’s black market by her cousin, something about wanting a love potion to drug some noble’s son with or something as equally selfish and stupid, she didn’t really tend to listen too much whenever her cousin talked… she honestly wouldn’t have gone if her cousin didn’t blackmail her to her aunt and uncle over something she didn’t do. Those doddering fools believed anything their horrible daughter said.
Why should she care about that? Because Eliana is an orphan and she can’t touch the bulk of the money her parents left her until she turned twenty years old. She has no choice but to remain with them until she can finally afford to live on her own.
Anyway, Eliana wanders off while her cousin is looking at whatever the hell a dumb ass like her looks for at a black market… Eliana ends up coming across a big black tent with a sign above the entrance with a carving of a fairy wing on it…
Curious, Eliana goes inside and is horrified when she enters to find a beautiful young man with black hair and the most beautiful violet eyes inside a cage and… one iridescent wing on his back? A fairy… a fairy unfortunate enough to get caught… the fairy glared at her from his cage with contempt… but after what he’d no doubt been through, she really didn’t blame him…
Beside the male fairy sitting on a wood chair was a rough looking older man with a black patch over one eye…
The man said this was the last one of his catch until he went out fairy hunting again. Horrible man.
She offered the man the last hundred dollars to her name and much to her shock, he accepted it. Muttered something about how the fairy was a huge pain in the ass to take care of anyway.
He gave her the other wing and let the fairy out of his cage. He told her that if she had the detached wing, the fairy male HAD to obey her.
Soon as they were far enough from the tent, Eliana went and gave the fairy the shock of his life… she took the detached wind, moved behind him and used magic to reattach it, restoring his ability to fly and his free will.
Eliana thought after that, the fairy would go home and she’d go on as normal until she turned twenty…
Nope.
Turns out Eliana’s action of setting him free had caused the fairy to fall in love with her. It was kinda weird the various reasons fairies fell in love.
From then on, the fairy made it his mission to woo Eliana and persuade her to go back to the fairy realm with him as his bride.
