This thread is for Characters and Information for the Mysterious Kirkwood group RP. Questions should be posed in the Request Thread or OOC thread (once it's posted).

Name: Myriam

Vocation: Kennel Keeper by day, entertainer by night (Dancing and Singing)

Description: Myriam stands at about 3'11" with a rather voluptuous build. She has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes.

Background: Myriam was born and raised in the Boroughs along the River of Dreams in Cianna. Her upbringing was fairly normal for the most part, though early on she was branded as an 'extra' annoying child, for she would never shut up. She always had questions after questions. She also had a love of stories, especially those that had magic as a focal point. She grew up dreaming of someday being a sorceress, and most people just brushed it off as childhood silliness. As she grew older her parents told her to stop talking and thinking about magic, as it was the source of all evil.

Unlike 99% of all Halflings Myriam soon grew bored of the Boroughs. At age 16 she gathered her things and she set off. Alone and with no clear destination she wandered about for some time until she heard a story of a mysterious place called Kirkwood. She soon hitched a ride with a caravan headed that way. A kennel/cat master took a liking to her. He was going to Kirkwood to set up a cat/dog breeding enterprise. The dogs and cats seemed to like her as much as she like them so the kennel master kept her on even after he'd settled in Kirkwood.

Skills:
1- Major: Myriam is very dextrous (stealth/acrobatics); Myriam is very perceptive
2- Minor: Myriam is good with animals (small animals, mostly); Myriam is a skilled entertainer (singing/dancing); Myriam is athletic (climbing, swimming, running)

Weakness:
Myriam isn't much good in a fight (no combat skill or training)

Awakened Powers: Myriam carried within her the essence of a fearie dragon, which seemed to explain her extensive curiosity and wanderlust. These diminutive dragons, like all dragons were thought to be extinct a thousand years ago, though like many magical creatures they simply became dormant inside a particular racial bloodline, in this case in Myriam's ancestors.

1- Transformation- Myriam can change into a fearie dragon. In this form she can fly fast with excellent manoeuvrability. She cannot speak in this form, but she can communicate with willing friends via telepathy. A fearie dragon is small and stealthy. She can use her claws and bite to attack though those attacks would be more of a nuisance than anything else. She can breathe fire, though with limited effects, like as a distraction. A sustained breath attack could cause combustibles to catch fire and cause damage to a living being. In this form, she is immune to fire. (She is, however, extra susceptible to the cold.)

2- In her natural Halfling form she gains the following abilities; extraordinary resistance to fire and heat, empathy with friends (the ability to feel their emotions).

3- In both forms she has extraordinary senses (sight, hearing and smell).

Description: A beautiful woman with dark copper skin and raven black, curly hair blended in with emerald green eyes. She is 5'2ft (157cm) and 110lbs (49kg)
Background: Mélanie is a respected but poor local alchemist in the small city of Kirkwood. Even though she is good with her craft, she gives many services for free to the people who are less fortunate which is where she loses money. Although she never thought she needed to live lusciously, as long as it brought bread and alcohol to her belly, she didn't dare to complain especially when the people around her would be dying of common sicknesses. People who are close to her know she is a hardworker and passionate about her studies but also know her as a great singer and dancer once you fill her with more drinks than she could handle. She chose to study medicine and alchemy when both of her parents died of the plague when she was young and she never understood why she didn't pass away with them. From then on, she wanted to make her parents proud by healing anyone who'd ask and not depending on how much coin they had.

2- Minor: singing, dancing, playing the flute
Weakness: extreme fear of fire but also ironically complete darkness

Awakened Powers: The ability to heal wounds but not reverse death but also can cast harming spells on enemies which can cause them to become overcomed with sickess; physically and/or internally. (can cover enemy in hives or make them vomit relentlessly on the spot)
 
Name: Ustan
Race: Human
Age: 20
Gender/Sexual Orientation: Male/Mostly Straight
Vocation: Journeyman Blacksmith

Description: Ustan has dark, almost black hair cut to the shoulders. His square-jawed face would be handsome if not for a larger than average nose which looks like it's been broken at least once. He has a stocky build, filled out with trained muscles. His skin is naturally a light olive, but is tinted darker, particularly in the summer. He often keeps his hair tied back for work. Ustan is 5'5" and 172 lbs.

Background: Ustan was brought to Kirkwood as a toddler by his father, Russ. He grew up in his father's forge and began learning the craft at a young age. He knows little of his mother because his father refuses to speak of her, and never really had any feminine presence in his life. As a result, he's fairly shy around women. His father isn't a bad sort. He drinks, but not to excess. He's cranky, but not mean. He's tried to teach Ustan as much as he can and prepare him for a life on the edge of wilderness. Ustan himself was a bit mischievous as a child, but has grown into his father's reserve.

Ustan has almost completed his journeyman's training and will soon be a full-fledged smith in his own right. Russ plans on taking a step back and working part time once Ustan is ready. Years of the hammer have taken their toll on him, but he could never fully retire. He wouldn't know what to do with himself.

Skills:

2- Minor: Warhammer Combat Training, Basic Survival

Weakness: Ustan is illiterate except for figuring numbers and a few words (mostly metals), Ustan doesn't know how to swim.

Awakened Powers: In Ustan lies the dormant blood of a redcap. In places with little light, his eyes take on a red hue and allow him to see perfectly. In addition, if he spills the blood of others and comes into contact with it he experiences an adrenaline rush along with a state of heightened strength, toughness, and reflexes. The strengthening effect lasts for a few hours, and becomes stronger with multiple sources of blood. The effect is drastically weakened if there are no negative or violent emotions accompanying the bloodletting.

Weakness: Allergic to cats, has a quick temper and is easily provoked, is often mislead by attractive women.

Awakened Powers: The usual abilities of an elf; enhanced senses and swiftness. The ability to 'shadow-walk.' Teleport small distances (50ft) using shadows as the medium. He must be standing in shadow for it to work, nighttime allows him to do this freely.

Name: Wimark Stonescream
Race: Human
Age: 29
Gender/Sexual Orientation: Male/Straight
Vocation: Church Sanctioned Merc (at least before the awakening)

Description: He is 5'12. Blonde hair. Green eyes before awakening. Red after awakening.

Background: Wimark was a slave upon a ship, that traveled around a lot. While they were in transit, he worked on the rigging, climbing the last to make sure the sails got up and down alright.
When they were in port, the captain would often put Wimark in whatever fitting pit was there. Which meant while the rest of the crew drank and whored their way through the port, Wimark was having the shit kicked out of him.
He eventually started getting good at fighting. One day, Wimark found out the Captain had magic. He had summoned a storm to sink a pirate ship that was trying to steal the cargo from his ship.
The Servants of Heaven attacked the ship at port, three months later.

During the confrontation, Wimark was used as a shield, by the captain. That is how he got the cross scar on his chest. Later, during the same confrontation, Wimark was thrown overboard. Drained from being struck by a Servant of Heaven, he sunk to the bottom of the port. One of the Servants of Heaven dived in after him, after the Captain was killed. Wimark was resuscitated, and told he was no longer a slave.
He asked how he could possibly repay the Church, but he did not ascribe to the Church's teachings.

The Church said they would take him in as a Mercenary. He was allowed to take other jobs, but Church jobs got first priority. He was often tasked with confirming Awakened cases, before sending in the Servants of Heaven, or just hunting down people who broke the religious laws.

Wimark Stonescream, a last name he chose for himself during his work as a Mercenary, decided to settle in Kirkwood. It was remote enough that the Church had deemed the extra protection necessary, but not necessary to send full Church Guards. They wanted to send someone disposable. Who would be better suited to the remote township.

1- Major: Mercenary Weapon Training (Short Swords, Long Swords, Daggers, Whips & Crossbows), Acrobatics/climbing
2- Minor: (2 or 3) Carousing, Sailing, Bounty Hunting

Weakness: Being raised under the lash, on a ship, means he often finds it hard to relax. After leaving his sea life, he has sworn off seafood. Raised as a slave, he was never taught to read or write. Red eyes make it hard to hide that he is awakened.

Awakened Powers: His powers stem from when he drowned in the port. While he was dead, his soul went straight to Hell. When it was brought back when he was resuscitated, something came back. Or rather someone. Bograxith was a demon prince who embedded into Wimark. A deal was made, Wimark would be Bograxith's lieutenant. When he was resuscitated, the deal was forgotten, and the power lost. Until the storm. He awoke with power, and a need to see the Church of the AllFather destroyed.
  • Fortified by Bograxith's Wrath. The Demon Prince Bograxith has fortified Wimark body. Making him strong enough to lift small cars and bend metal, fast enough to move at/beyond the high-way speed limit, durable enough to withstand being thrown off tall buildings.
  • Flames of Hell. Wimark was gifted with being able to wield the powers Hell-Fire. Demonic Flames of Hell.
  • Bograxith's Abode. This is how Bograxith communicates with Wimark most of the time. It is an area outside space and time that Wimark can enter. No matter how long Wimark spends in the abode, he will always come out at the exact moment he left. Often in the same position.
