Evening Sanctum,
Short and sweet tonight. After a little testing, we have rolled out a new role, "New Blood".
These are new users who have not yet posted an intro or request thread. They have restricted site permissions until that is done.
The white outline around their names, visible on all themes, is designed to make them stand out in chat. If you see anyone with that outline who looks lost, please direct them to the staff.
As a quick note, the role can take a few minutes to remove itself after posting, so if a user has just posted, it still being there is not a bug.
That's all folks!

- Longer explanation for the people who are interested
-
New Blood users are limited in three main ways:
1. They cannot make threads except in the Intro and Request Forums or comment except in the Intro forums
2. They cannot start conversations
3. They cannot see the roleplay forums - Why?
-
1. It allows us to use certain site features (like notices) to convey information only to new users and highlight them in chat for staff attention
2. This should limit issues we have had from confused new users, in particular, cold calling and replying to ongoing roleplays
3. If any spam bots get through our filters, this means they will always post somewhere staff will see immediately
4. If any bots attempt AI scraping, they will be unable to see any part of the site where writing is stored
