ABOUT THE WRITER

A mildly concerning introduction before we hand our characters sharp objects.

I suppose if we're about to throw our fictional people into war zones, haunted cities, criminal organizations, ancient kingdoms, collapsing worlds, dysfunctional relationships or whatever questionable scenario we cook up together, you should probably know a little about the person sitting behind the keyboard.

I'm 21, I write because I genuinely love storytelling, and apparently my idea of relaxation involves inventing complicated fictional people and then systematically making their lives worse until character development happens. Could I have picked a calmer hobby? Absolutely. Did I? Clearly not.

I'm pretty easygoing OOC and I don't need everything to feel like a business transaction. Talk to me normally. Joke around. Send me random ideas. Change your mind. Tell me you suddenly realized our entire plot would be ten times better if we threw away half the plan and replaced it with something completely insane. I love collaborative writing far more than rigid storytelling where every scene has already been decided before we've written the first reply.

✦ The important part is simply this: give me something to work with.

I don't obsess over exact word counts. Some scenes naturally become enormous and others don't need twelve paragraphs describing somebody walking across a room. What matters to me is substance. Thoughts, reactions, atmosphere, dialogue, movement, consequences, character development. I want to actually feel like we're building something together instead of one person dragging the entire plot behind them while the other occasionally waves.

I usually write third person and multi-para, but I'm flexible with length depending on the scene. I love description when it adds something, though I don't particularly want our characters standing in the same doorway for six replies because we're both lovingly describing the wallpaper.

Move things forward. Make choices. Cause problems. We'll survive.

Probably.

WHAT I WRITE

Honestly? Almost everything.

Fantasy, modern, crime, horror, psychological, supernatural, military, post-apocalyptic, dystopian, medieval, historical, sci-fi, superheroes, villains, mythology, urban fantasy, survival, espionage, dark romance, fandom verses, original universes and crossovers that look completely ridiculous on paper but somehow become brilliant once the characters actually meet.

I don't really enjoy putting myself inside one little genre box. If you've got an interesting character and a storyline with enough meat on its bones, I'm probably willing to hear you out.

Most of my favorite stories end up becoming a strange cocktail anyway. Crime stories grow supernatural elements. Romance develops during murder investigations. Fantasy plots turn political. Survival stories accidentally become tragic love stories. Two people start out trying to kill each other and somehow end up sharing breakfast three months later while pretending nothing emotionally significant has happened.

✦ Genre is flexible. Chemistry isn't.

Give me something that makes me curious.

ROMANCE, SEX & TERRIBLE IDEAS MADE WITH CONFIDENCE

I love romance, but I like romance with teeth.

I don't need characters falling in love after three replies because they both happen to be attractive. I want tension. Friction. Curiosity. Jealousy. Arguments. Trust being earned and occasionally shattered. Characters learning the worst things about each other and deciding what to do with that information.

Slow burns are welcome. Enemies to lovers are welcome. Rivals, forbidden attraction, morally questionable relationships, obsessive dynamics, complicated loyalties and the classic these two absolutely should not be doing this situation are all very much at home here.

I'm also comfortable writing sexual content between adult characters and I do not fade to black. If two characters reach that point naturally, I'm perfectly happy actually writing the scene instead of politely closing the curtains and pretending nothing happened.

That being said, I don't want a storyline that becomes nothing but sex scenes stitched together by five minutes of conversation.

Give me the tension before it. Give me the consequences afterward. Give me the awkward breakfast, the argument, the regret, the smugness, the denial, the emotional catastrophe somebody absolutely should have seen coming.

✦ Sex can be part of the story. It shouldn't replace the story.

Romance is much the same. I love it, but I want something happening around it. Give our characters something to survive together. Something to hide. Something to fight over. Something that makes finally choosing one another actually mean something.

DARK THEMES

Dark fiction is very welcome.

Violence, blood, gore, crime, death, war, horror, betrayal, obsession, revenge, manipulation, corruption, trauma, morally grey choices, villains, antiheroes, fucked-up situations and characters making spectacularly questionable decisions are all things I enjoy exploring.

I'm not really interested in stories where everybody behaves perfectly and every conflict gets solved because someone calmly explains their feelings over tea.

Sometimes people lie.

Sometimes they manipulate each other.

Sometimes love doesn't immediately make somebody a better person.

Sometimes the hero does something unforgivable and the villain is the one showing mercy.

That's interesting to me.

I like consequences too. If somebody gets hurt, let it matter. If somebody betrays someone, don't magically erase it three replies later because we want the characters kissing again. If somebody dies, let that absence live inside the story.

✦ Give me scars, not reset buttons.

I don't mind things getting ugly. Fiction is allowed to be ugly.

MY CHARACTERS ARE ACTUALLY CHARACTERS

Please read my profiles before approaching me for a storyline.

You don't need to memorize every tiny detail, but my characters have histories, personalities, loyalties, fears, flaws and boundaries for a reason. They're not blank mannequins I'm going to completely rewrite just because another character needs them to behave differently for a plot to work.

They can absolutely change.

Actually, I hope they do.

They can soften, become worse, heal, relapse, forgive, refuse forgiveness, fall in love, lose faith, gain faith, become monsters, become heroes or discover something about themselves neither writer expected.

But I want that development to happen through the story.

Don't decide beforehand that my character will automatically adore yours, fear yours, obey yours, sleep with yours or become obsessed with yours.

Earn those reactions in character.

That's the fun part.

GODMODDING

This section can stay beautifully short because the rule is painfully simple.

✦ You write your character. I write mine.

NPCs are different and obviously we can both use them when necessary, especially if we're building a larger world together. But when it comes to our actual muses, leave room for reactions.

You can attempt to punch my character.

You cannot decide that you punched them, shattered three ribs, knocked them unconscious, made them cry and permanently changed their philosophy on life before I've even responded.

Give me room to react and I'll always give you the same courtesy.

PLOTS, TWISTS & GENERAL FICTIONAL DISASTER

Please bring ideas.

Better yet, bring ideas that could ruin everything.

I love plotting, but I don't like planning every single scene before we begin. Give us a strong foundation, some important themes, a general direction and maybe a few future possibilities. After that, I like leaving room for the story to grow teeth of its own.

Introduce NPCs. Create enemies. Complicate things. Reveal secrets. Turn allies into problems. Make the mission go wrong. Have the supposedly trustworthy contact betray us. Put a bounty on somebody's head. Burn down the safehouse.

Just know that if you burn down the safehouse, there is a very real possibility I'll look at the flames and decide the situation isn't bad enough yet.

✦ Curveballs are encouraged.

Some of the best scenes I've ever written came from moments neither writer originally planned.

COMMUNICATION

Please just talk to me.

Seriously.

If something isn't working, tell me. If you want more romance, tell me. If you want less romance, tell me. If you're bored with a plot, tell me. If you've suddenly thought of something better, absolutely tell me.

You will never annoy me by showing enthusiasm for our storyline.

I'd much rather receive a random message saying "Okay, hear me out..." followed by complete fictional insanity than quietly watch a story die because both of us were afraid to suggest something.

I'm also not interested in policing response times.

Real life happens. Work happens. Exhaustion happens. Sometimes creativity disappears into the forest and refuses to answer its phone.

Take your time.

I don't expect daily replies and I don't need a detailed explanation every time somebody gets busy. If you're going to vanish permanently, a quick heads-up is appreciated, but otherwise I'm not standing outside anybody's inbox with a stopwatch.

FRIEND REQUESTS & MESSAGES

You can message me. I promise the inbox isn't booby-trapped.

If you've seen one of my characters and think yours could work with them, come say hello. You don't need to arrive with a completed trilogy and seventeen supporting documents.

Even something as simple as "I think these two would be terrible for each other" is enough to get my attention.

Actually, that's probably more effective than most introductions.

I just appreciate knowing you've at least looked at the character you're approaching. You don't need to know their entire bloodline, but asking me to explain who my muse is when you're already standing on their profile is going to make my soul leave my body for several seconds.

IC IS IC. OOC IS OOC.

This one matters.

My character can hate yours while I think you're great.

My character can fall hopelessly in love with yours without me secretly believing we're now engaged.

Our characters can insult each other, betray each other, sleep together, marry, divorce, threaten murder, attempt murder, actually murder somebody else, ruin each other's lives and still have absolutely nothing to do with how I feel about you as a writer.

Fiction stays fiction.

Please keep that separation intact.

We're basically two adults smashing fictional action figures together and documenting the emotional property damage.

✦ Character chemistry is not writer chemistry.

Simple.

WHAT I ACTUALLY WANT

I want stories that feel alive.

I want characters who actually change because of what happens to them. I want dangerous scenes that make quiet scenes matter more, and quiet scenes that make the dangerous ones hurt worse.

Give me the conversation at three in the morning after everything went wrong.

Give me somebody wiping blood off their hands while insisting they're completely fine.

Give me enemies trapped somewhere together.

Give me alliances nobody trusts.

Give me criminals with principles and heroes with ugly secrets.

Give me betrayals that make perfect sense and still hurt like hell.

Give me attraction neither character wants.

Give me loyalty that develops accidentally.

Give me laughter in terrible places.

Give me characters sitting on a kitchen floor eating awful food after we've spent forty replies completely destroying their lives.

They can have ten minutes of peace.

I'm generous like that.

After ten minutes something horrible can happen again.

A LITTLE RL STUFF

I'm 21 and, outside of writing, I obviously have an actual life somewhere beyond this website. That means there will be days when I'm incredibly active and days when I simply don't have the brainpower to write something worth sending.

I would much rather give somebody a reply I'm happy with later than force out something terrible because I felt pressured to answer immediately.

I'm friendly, I'm pretty difficult to scare away, and I'm comfortable discussing plots openly. If we're writing together, you don't have to constantly worry that one wrong suggestion will make me disappear into the night.

Just communicate like a normal human being and we'll probably be fine.

THE MATURE CONTENT WARNING

I'm an adult and I prefer writing with adults.

My stories can include explicit sex, romance, graphic violence, gore, death, disturbing themes, morally ugly behavior and generally things that would make a children's television network burst into flames.

I don't do fade to black when sexual scenes naturally occur.

I don't automatically soften violence because it's uncomfortable.

I don't need every romance to be wholesome.

I don't need every character to be redeemable.

That doesn't mean every storyline has to contain every dark theme imaginable. It simply means I don't want us tiptoeing around mature material when it belongs naturally in the story.

✦ No soft little safety bubble around the fiction.

Give me passion. Give me violence. Give me obsession. Give me romance. Give me blood. Give me tenderness in places where tenderness feels dangerous.

Just give it purpose.

FINAL NOTES FROM WHATEVER PASSES FOR MANAGEMENT HERE

I swear.

I joke around.

I get attached to fictional people and then immediately participate in ruining their lives.

At some point, there is a very high chance I will send you a message containing some variation of "WAIT, I HAVE AN IDEA."

Historically, this has been terrible news for the characters involved.

I'm here for long-term stories, short chaotic stories, dark romances, elaborate worlds, ridiculous crossovers, tragic relationships, supernatural nightmares, bloody fights, psychological warfare, fucked-up villains, morally exhausted heroes and occasionally two deeply damaged people discovering they actually care about each other despite every functioning survival instinct telling them not to.

I want writers who contribute.

I want people who aren't afraid to make choices.

I want characters who feel like people instead of plot furniture.

And mostly, I want us both staring at the story several months from now wondering how the hell it became this.

✦ If you're bringing chemistry, creativity and enough poor fictional judgment to keep things interesting, come bother me.

We'll figure out the plot.

We'll destroy a few lives.

We'll probably accidentally create emotional attachment somewhere along the way.

And if everything goes catastrophically wrong?

Well.

At least we'll have something good to write about.
