Hello! I'll be using the screen name RowanOakTree. This jeopardy-esque "before and after" pays homage to William Faulkner in the former half (his estate is called Rowan Oak), and my fraternity in the latter half (the oak tree is the official tree of Pi Kappa Alpha). Feel free to address me as Rowan; it will save you a few keystrokes. As stated in the title, I am new to this website and to the activity of role-playing. I did a bit of role playing in a forum when I was like 13, but never since. I was introduced to Dungeons and Dragons by some friends, and I really liked it. I became really interested in playing it throughout the day as a group chat, but for those who like battling monsters, that is much less fun. I really enjoy the story telling aspect more than the dice-rolling, so I think role playing might be for me. I'm not entirely sure how all of this works, so I'm hoping someone may pick me up and help me get started. I am a strong writer, and I find that I write in a sort of lyrical prose. I would be audacious to compare myself to F. Scott Fitzgerald, but his diction is something to which I aspire. I hope to join you in the fun!
