Hi! I’m FangtasticFrau, a grown-ass woman and seasoned writer of roughly novel quality. I’m here because I’m a bit of a misfit trapped between worlds. (Possibly extraordinarily well-masked AuDHD; certainly ND in a couple of confirmed ways already.) Here’s an overview of me.
Romance/Erotica Preferences: So often folks seem to be either in the asexual, FtB, or “they’ve known each other a whole hour, time to get hardcore!” camps. I just don’t belong in any of those. My camp could be described as the “demisexual AF” camp, I suppose. I am indulgent, amorous, and lascivious in my writing if you catch me in the right moments, but I am also bored to death by sex scenes that feel obligatory--the dynamic nature of roleplay is so important to me; any hint of rushing it and I just mentally check out. It all needs to follow character, plot, emotional realism… those scenes can add so much when you know what they mean to the people involved.
TL;DR: My lust falls off a cliff at some point if there’s no atmosphere or emotional intimacy.
Genre Preferences: I enjoy intelligent horror, urban fantasy, mysteries, and dark human interest stories. I’m a longtime V:tM enthusiast (username checks out, right?), and I read Agatha Christie with great enthusiasm as a kid. Romance plots I’ve come up with pair such characters as a vampire hunter chasing the vampire he believes killed his family when he was a child, a mistreated housewife and her well-intentioned neighbor who can’t help but notice she forgets to close her blinds a lot, a rarefied blood mage who agrees to ally with a vampire lord, a noblewoman abducted by the elves who killed her murderous husband for the sake of their people, and an imperiled zombie apocalypse survivor with a starving vampire who needs him to survive.
TL;DR: Horror. Dresden. Agatha Christie. Witcher. VtM. In general, VAMPIRES! Hurray! Also hurt/comfort and enemies to lovers all day every day, from very mild to quite severe.
Female Lead Preferences: I like writing voluptuous female OCs, generally, somewhere along the dangerously curved full-and-fluffy to muscle mommy range, but almost never tall. Visually, I enjoy contrasts and things you don’t much see in media. I like when the woman’s hair is darker, for instance; wild how it’s almost a universal rule that the male lead can never be lighter-haired than the woman, and breaking societal rules turns me on.
For the meat and heart of the character, I almost always write compassionate women; perhaps a few complex and twisted sadists who still mean well underneath. I mean, just because you whip a dude doesn’t mean you don’t want him to love himself, and it doesn’t mean you wouldn’t snuggle and cuddle the hell out of him after. I'm into a lot of dynamics but I love contrasts and oddities.
TL;DR: I write shortstack Lady Dimitrescus, but fluffy inside.
Male Lead Preferences: Some of my favorite male characters are Robert from Dispatch, Phyre from VtMB2, Alucard from Castlevania, Hux and Atton Rand from Star Wars, Sebastian from Shadowhunters, Loki from the MCU, Leon from the original RE4, Elliot from Mr. Robot, and Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds. So that gives you an idea of what I enjoy, both physically and otherwise: intelligent, a little odd, kinda scrawny, masculine and maybe kind of stoic but deep-feeling underneath. I do not at all mind OCs, but enjoy certain canon male characters as well. I could go either way. Pick someone I love, or make me love someone new.
Purely based on looks, I’ll pick a scrawny stick figure with a pretty face over a big hulk of brawn with a bulky beard 100% of the time, no deliberation necessary.
Personality-wise, stoicism is fine but a lack of emotionality is not. I’ll take a pansexual with BPD and a messy life history or a lonely agoraphobic vampire lord or a troubled and damaged office worker like Brandon from Shame over your standard lantern-jawed hero any day. I’ll never be into that “manly man domly dom look at me I never show emotion isn’t that hot?” type. Because no, hidden depths are exciting and stereotypes are not. I’m sort of kink-agnostic so he can be dom, switch, or sub, but if dom then he has to be exceptionally well-written and humanized. He can’t have power in every single arena just because he wants to take charge in bed. That is boring to me.
I also like other qualities in male characters that seem very uncommon for male leads, aside from ectomorphism. I enjoy red hair, soft hair, freckles, glasses, nerdiness, shyness, starched shirts, androgyny, and paradoxical elements like being really pretty but grumpy about it. I also welcome bi or pan male characters, and am glad to incorporate any such elements into the story if it makes sense. I’d even enjoy experimenting with something unconventional, like a triad romance with a bi male couple. We could do Robert and Mandy with Waterboy. Fuck it, we can do Snow White and the seven Scoia’tael, that sounds fun too.
TL;DR: Gimme a skinny dude I can throw over my shoulder and carry back to my lair while he makes sassy, sarcastic comments in a deep, sexy voice. Possibly in Swedish, I have a thing. The shoulder/lair bits are optional.
Logistics: I like 3rd person and past or present tense. Happy to communicate OOC via Discord but do not like character limits. I want to write with someone emotionally mature who has life experience and insight. So obviously someone legal, preferably 30+, but if you’re 25 and feel like we’d mesh super-well I’m sure not gonna say no. Above all it’s the person, not so much the number.
Cheers! Thanks for reading and best of luck with roleplay.
