You're waking up from a nightmare.

Things you're certain about: Your name. Your family. A troubled, but gifted childhood that led to your recruitment into an espionage agency. You used to be a spy.

And then… the nightmare.

It's not amnesia. It's not that simple. Something broke your mind. Something made you a different person, forced you to serve them. Forced you to be their enforcer, their monster. You did horrible things in the shadows across Europe.

You can't recall – can't let yourself recall – the details. Not yet. It's like someone set fire to your old house, and you're walking around in the burnt-out ruins. You know the layout of the place perfectly, but everything's changed on the inside – it's scorched, or covered in thick soot, or burnt away entirely. Some of it might be salvageable if you carefully rebuild it, but other parts are now treacherous – step on the wrong floorboard, and it'll collapse under your weight and send you plunging into catatonia.

Sometimes, you'll find intact chains of memories. You'll run into a familiar face, and be able to pull up a memory that's entangled with other facts and flashbacks, but you don't have a complete picture of either your former life or the mysterious master you were forced to serve.

Just the memory of eyes in the darkness, and the taste of blood.

You can't trust your memories. What did this to you? Are you compromised? Can you rebuild your identity – or should you raze it all and start again?

One thing you do remember, one thing you hold onto despite everything – you're going to get revenge.

This is a bit of an experiment. I want to run a solo game of Night's Black Agents. Your character is a skilled secret agent who was enslaved by a vampire and has recently broke that control. You're looking to get some sort of life back and get revenge.

This premise would involve my partner taking the role of the former spy and me controlling the rest of the world, unveiling a mystery of darkness and blood that your character will investigate and engage with. Your character is the protagonist of our tale, and I'm most other folks.

Part of the premise is the protagonist's memory is faulty, and we'll work together to explore and define their past and what they've done. We'll work together to establish comfort levels in terms of directorial intrusion on your backstory. Maybe you trust me to provide you with interesting complications from your past. Perhaps you want me to clear ideas before they're implemented. We'll work that out.

Will there be sexytimes?

Up to you. You'll drive a lot of the story. Is a contact an old flame? Do you think seduction is the best way to get the information you're looking for? I'll work with you.

Will there be violence?

Undoubtedly. It's a super spy story. What good is being a super spy if you can't whup on goons?

How do vampires work in this setting?

That's something you and your character will learn in play. I will say it will be more Stoker-esque than Twilight.

If this seems interesting to you, drop me a PM.

We'll chat.

You might like the movie "The Long Kiss Goodnight" it has Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson in it. It's one of my faves from the 90's!

I'm well aware of it. Fabulous movie.
