Well, if you've checked out my main req thread, you've probably already seen this included there, but I'm gonna make a req thread exclusively for this one idea.

So, I'm gonna post said idea here first, then what you can expect from me and what I can hope to get from you.

If you know me as a writer, you already know slice of life is my bread and butter. I mean, if you scrolled past it, you missed where I literally had it checked as part of the preferred genres. If not, then surprise!

So, on to the idea. From seeing several posts, I can already tell you, this likely falls under a variation of enemies/rivals-to-lovers, but I also see it as more of an opposites attract RP as well.

It's early in the year in this city and spring is not far away. Just gotta make it through the coldest part of the year before we get there. In this city, it's just like a lot of others. It has stores, restaurants, the post office to make it official, city hall, schools. And, oh yeah, the one thing the city is most known for is the university. In fact, a large portion of the city's residents are either current students or alumni. That's right, the city is your run of the mill college town, so to speak. Of course, the city itself does have its own identity as well, but when you say the name of the city, the university is the one thing people think of.

That's where our characters come in. They are both students of the university, and if you saw them together, you'd have to wonder if it's just at that exact moment. If you didn't know them, you'd think there was zero common ground between the two.

One is the quarterback of the university's football team. Well-known on campus, keeps his head in both the textbooks and the playbook, he simply carries an aura about him that just about everyone seems to gravitate towards. He has thousands of followers on Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), and Facebook, and it's not even limited to just those in the city. His profile has risen from being occasionally shown on ESPN as well, especially when it comes to certain plays he has made while playing football.

Then there's the other girl. If you saw him and you saw her, it'd be like night and day. While he gets attention for being a good looking guy who just so happens to play football, she has men (and women) who can't control themselves when she posts herself online. (Debatable on whether they're SFW or NSFW.) Her entire aesthetic couldn't be any more different from his though. While he could show up in any look, hers is almost exclusively black. If she's wearing anything that isn't completely devoid of color, get her some help immediately.

Anyway, it's early in spring term (so any time in between January and March; otherwise, let's just say it's before spring break). For all intents and purposes, let's simplify it and have them be classmates. Typical trope and setup here. Professor announces a group project, but instead of the students picking partners, the professor took the liberty of pairing up students at random. And well, here are our characters. Let's just say that she knows who he is and knows what he's about, but doesn't have a high opinion. She just assumes that he's a loud, brash jock who's been given everything in his life and when she sees him, she thinks of the tweet that went viral years ago when a football player actually said "we ain't come to play school" and is absolutely horrified at the prospect of doing the project with him. He, on the other hand, has heard about her in passing at times but has never actually been given the chance to get to know her. So right off the bat, she already starts planning on doing the entire project herself and starts thinking of how she can get away with not including his name on any of it.

Then, as time goes on, she realizes she had it all wrong about him. She never actually gave him a chance to show who he really is and what he's about, only seeing the public side of him. Along the way, something happens (that we can discuss in a DM) that completely changes everything. Soon enough, with spring break approaching, and having gotten to know each other a little bit from working on the project, one of them asks if they had any plans for the week off from classes. The other may or may not, but either way, plans change (or at least get modified) to where they decide to hang out with each other that week. Then, once the week is over with and they have to go back to school, they start hanging out for more than just the project (like they hadn't already been doing so) and her friends start taking notice. Some of them might not think much of him either, and start questioning what she sees in him, but offer to be there for their friend and try to understand why she thinks someone who's so different from them is worth her free time. Things then come to a head where eventually, one of the guys in her friend group has not only had enough of her "blowing them off for some stuck-up jackass who thinks he's God's gift to earth" because while he hadn't shown it, he had feelings for her, and it was only now, with the threat of losing her to him, that he revealed it. This causes major drama between them and it culminates in the one guy giving her the ultimatum of her choosing the "obnoxious jock" or her friends who stuck by her this entire time. However, by this time, MC has been around her friends within the group and almost all of them saw the same thing she saw in that he actually was a great guy that they had the wrong idea about. This then furthers the rift between YC and someone she thought was her friend, only realizing it was for the purpose of trying to pursue a relationship with him. This rift also extends to the rest of the friend group, as they all want there to be peace with each other and not try to pick sides.

The endgame is, of course, for YC and MC to wind up together, and plenty of laughs, tears, twists, turns, anything interesting that can happen in between has to happen.

"Jock" x Goth baddie (I can't really stand the term "jock" myself but everyone else seems to use it, so yeah)

Anyway, I'm sure glad you probably took the time to read all that. So, with that in mind, let me go ahead and tell a little about me (for those who haven't RPed with me before)

If you're interested, the code word is any type of cookie. Don't forget to include it in your intro DM. That's how I'll know you read this through to the end. And yes, DMs take priority over comments here. And those take priority over simply reacting to the thread. 😋
