Ailsa Windren


Appearance: smaller in stature with bright red curly hair. Her green eyes always look naïve. Her fair freckled skin is quick to blush under her honest emotions.

Personality: young and a bit naïve. Honest to a fault and quick to speak her mind. Naturally clumsy and prone to trouble.

Family: The Windren family is a powerful bloodline, known best for their skills in transfiguration. Like most older magic lines, the family takes deep pride in their member and cast a large amount of burden on them. While most families hold each person in great regard, the Windren do not believe blood to be enough. They are notorious for disowning anyone that can't meet their extremely high standards. Only those who prove themselves worthy will be allowed to carry on the Windren name.


History: Being born into the Windren family was a fate that shouldn't have been cast on this pure of heart girl. The family took deep pride in their bloodline and the great magic that was practiced by its members. Many great witches have come from this family, and all had a great legacy to live up to.
She was never what her family expected of her. Despite her great power with magic, she was soft hearted and clumsy by nature. For this she was often seen as a black sheep. She put in her best efforts to fit in, and make her parents proud, but all of her attempts had ended poorly. Most efforts had resulted in her needing to be rescued or a mess to be cleaned up, which her older sister was quick to do for most of her life.
Her childhood was spent in the shadow of her seemingly perfect sister. This might have put most siblings at odds, but not them. They had a great bond and we're always very close.
This was shattered when her sister was killed by a newly forming coven. The death shocked the family to the core, and devastated Ailsa. Ailsa was left as the only heir to the family and added even more pressure going forward.
A bit lost and unsure of her place in the world, Ailsa sets out to be the best witch she can. But she is still haunted by the memories of a sister taken too soon, and a family that is never satisfied with her.

Freya McNally

Appearance: tall and skinny, long unkempt blonde hair. Dark grey eyes and pale skin.

Personality: Right to the point, a busy body and genius. Freya can be quite pushy she likes to get the job done and quickly. Shes rule breaker always testing her luck and finding herself in tight spots.

Family: The McNally family is a very well known bloodline originating from Celtic routes deep in Scotland. They came to the United States early 18th century planting there feet in New Orleans. They led the New Orleans Coven for many a generations before the non-bloodlines started to form. The McNallys were pushed from New Orleans bringing them to the Seattle Coven where they have remained for many years.
The McNally family is known for their use of plants and other offerings from the earth. Many of the Bloodline were very famous Botanists. Not excluding Freya.
Freya is very well versed in the use of plants and other elements of herbal proximity's.

History: Freya McNally is the only daughter of Willow Defray, a very Knowledgeable herbalist and Alistair McNally, whom both were taken out by vampires while on a mission to clear out a nest in Canada. Freya was only eight years of age when she lost both of her parents. She grew up along side her young cousin Willow Millano, who is a witch but doesn't know about the Mystical World around her. Freya looked after Willa as if she was her little sister and loves her dearly. Her uncle George filled the void her late fathers death left behind, given the Millano family wasn't part of a coven she was raised by the Seattle Institutes leader, Margret Chaining. Margret had passed only a few years ago leaving Freya to over see the institute.
Now Freya McNally is in way over her head only being 28 years old and over seeing an entire institute of young witches and warlocks. She's been waiting for a head master to come and take over but the wait is beginning to feel endless to her.
Bloodline ranks are dissipating due to the new coven of non-blood witches.

Appearance: short, dark brown curls and a love of women's fashion and makeup, Cypress lives in his signature burgundy lipstick

Personality: Cypress is not the type to be bulldozed or judged, and he hides his anger well. He's spent many years perfecting the stowne face (he will not apologize for that pun, either) when confronted by bullies, and finds solace in his coven and prayers. Never one to turn down a cup of tea, he's very friendly when approached properly, with unparalleled charismatic grace and manners. If he comes off as ethereal, good, that's his goal.

Family: The Stowne family has owned much of the rental property of Seattle for generations, but they have been staple members of the coven for even longer. As the story is told, the family is descended from Nostradamus, though typically only the women of the family have the divinous powers of the Sight.

History: Cypress was an anomaly. Perhaps that was why his mother died giving birth to him. The Goddess gave him her gift early on in his life, and while he wouldn't have it any other way, his father was less than thrilled. Oliver Stowne had his one true love ripped from him for an effeminate fortuneteller. Oliver only came to terms with his son- both in regards to general tastes and over his Sight- when Cypress had a vision of the property Oliver was viewing being set aflame just in time to save his life (which was ironically how Oliver met Cypress' late mother). It helped that Cypress insisted that he was heterosexual. Currently, he dedicates himself full time to the coven and the institute.

Jingfei "Jessica" Lin


Appearance: Jessica stands at roughly 5'3" with a slender but well-toned build, as well as long straight black hair and dark eyes. Her choice of clothes are often more on the practical and comfortable side, not so much bothering with high-end fashion that might look good on a runway but would be impossible to wear comfortably on a daily basis.

Personality: Jessica's unshakable loyalty to the Lin family has earned her sufficient leeway to seek lifestyle and career pursuits independent of family affairs. When relaxed, she is dry-witted and quite the daredevil at times, though she can very often be awkward and shy during social interactions with other covens, sometimes to the point of coming across as cold or standoffish. During a conflict, however, she generally becomes much more serious and militaristic, and has much less patience for mistakes or for goofing off in general.

Family: The Lin family was among the first immigrants to Seattle's Chinatown district. As such, Lin witches generally tend to be relatively isolationist sorts when it comes to dealings with other families and covens, willing to provide reasonable amounts of aid when necessary or after one has earned it, but always prioritizing the family's own honor and needs in the event of a conflict of interest.
Being primarily Asian in origin, the magical practices passed down through the Lin bloodline tend to be somewhat different from those of their European counterparts, placing more emphasis on directly harnessing the natural energy flows in oneself and in the universe as a whole, rather than casting spells or performing rituals in the conventional sense. This makes most Lin witches particularly adept at defensive magic and remote viewing/sensing, as well as more general types of "spells" that involve tapping into and/or redirecting the aforementioned natural energy flows for various effects (e.g. telekinesis), though quite a few Lin witches also choose to specialize in herbalism, potions, and/or mediumship. It is also quite common for Lin witches to learn athletics and/or martial arts, as physical fitness makes it easier to channel energy when necessary.


History: Ever since their immigration to the Seattle area, the Lin family had to gradually balance their original culture and that of the land they had arrived in, eventually undergoing a great deal of Americanization in the wake of the Civil Rights Movement while still retaining the strong emphasis on honor and the well-being of the family as a whole from their native China. Jessica was born into this hybrid culture, and as a child she wanted to learn everything about everything, which was easier said than done. She developed a particular passion for martial arts from an early age, but she cared little about fighting as a spectator sport, and instead found herself fascinated by the philosophical aspects of combat and conflict and how they connected to physical fighting and running. The elders among the Lin family eagerly encouraged Jessica in this regard, and her talent for martial arts extended to her later interest in parkour as she took to exercising in various ways on the streets of Chinatown.
However, the elders soon discovered that Jessica didn't have that many ambitions beyond helping with the family. Her loyalty was admirable, but she would need to become more independent and venture out into the world more in order to truly mature as a witch, and as an adult in general. They were going to have her sent out on her own for a while, but those plans were partially put on hold in light of the recent troubles in Seattle thanks to an upstart non-bloodline coven, requiring all within the Lin bloodline to stand as one and protect their own. But these same troubles have been plaguing many natural-born witches in Seattle as of late, so perhaps it may be time for the Lin family to consider forming an alliance. And having Jessica as one of their ambassadors might help in this regard while also seeing to her personal growth.

Bedíàkő Clan
Appearance: Zemora is a fairly tall, wispy child. She stands at about 5'9" with a thin, agile body. Her back and arms are strong from physical labor. Her long dreaded hair is usually kept in the fashion shown above or in a huge wrapped bun. She wears a lot of whites and greys with gold and gemstone accessories.

Personality: Zemora comes off as stiff and bitchy when you first meet her, because she'd rather observe a situation first than interact. When you get to know her she's quite the helpful, friendly person. Sometimes a little too friendly. She can envade a person's personal space without realizing it. Zemora is also extremely cautious and will distance herself if she feels you are being dishonest or threatening this is a tactic she uses to avoid hurting herself or family. But Zemora is also not the type to back down from a challenge, she is proud of her heritage and family name and will defend it to her last breath. She is quite confident in her skills as a witch.

Family: The Bedíàkő clan can trace their blood line all the way back to the Akan tribe of Africa. A clan of great warriors and gold miners and stronger witches. When the slave trade began, many family members of the Akan were taken west to the Caribbeans. At some point this stopped due to the Akan leading many slave revolts in route and on plantations.

Zemora's first relative Bedíàkő was a witch that was transported to Barbados. As her family grew, she passed down the Akan oral history and tradition of both witches and regular tribal culture. So that they would never forget who they were. Thus the Bedíàkő clan formed and Bedíàkő's traditions still continue to this day.

Many children of Bedíàkő were sold off to the Americas and other islands of the Caribbean. The blessed of the family protected them with warding spells and hidden tattoos. So that they could all find each other later or in the after life. Once Slavery ended, many children of Bedíàkő found themselves moving with the expansion of the west. When Washington was settled into the Bedíàkő's were one of the first groups of black people to move there. Since then, their family has grown, forming their own suburb with a school, and all other amenities near the edge of Seattle.

Background: Zemora was born after a long dry spell. For over two generations no new witches were born in her clan. Until she came. With the arrival of a young witch all of their hopes and faith had been placed on Zemora since. And without haste she was trained and groomed to hone her powers at a young age, it was nessecary due the fear that the Bedíàkő lineage was dying out. The elders were growing older by the minute and soon she would be tasked with the charge of being the new head of her clan.
When the rumors of a non-bloobline coven initiating its member's through deaths of bloodline coven witches came to her neck of the woods, Zemora set out to the heart of Seattle to put an end to this coven to protect her clan and others who had ben wronged.
Magical Routes:Bedíàkő clan members specialize in protection and defense spells as well as hexes.

Abilities: Zemora has a strong affinity to hexes and defense spells. But she is well versed in other forms of magic too. At a young age it discovered that Zemora was gifted with empathic powers.

Willow Milano




Personality: Willow is sweet but vulgar and has an attitude like no ones business. Her sweetness always people to take advantage of her. At times shes quite timid but has only just been introduced to the magical world.


Family: The Millano family has been united with the McNally family for many generations they bought the corner suite off Bourbon street in 1920, as the prohibition was beginning. They opened a small lounge where people could enjoy cocktails and many other smuggled drinks.

The lounge is a gateway between covens, witches and other beings can travel through enchanted closets because of this bar.

As the generations passed through the lounge things changed, the lounge became an old rigidity bar on the decomposing streets of New Orleans. Willow Millano now runs the bar following the death of her father Goerge Millano.

The Milano family is not apart of the coventry but is loyal to the coven, being the gatekeepers as they have for generations has created a tight bond with all families of the coventry.


History: Willow was raised in New Orleans by her father George, she never knew her mother or who she was. For some reason she never felt compelled to figure out who her mother was either. She was happy with her father and her cousin who was usually ALWAYS around. Willas dad died before ever getting to explain the truth. The truth is that Freya Rose is Willas sister, not cousin and that Freya's mother was her father's secret lover. Neither of the girls no about this, the only one who knew recently died. Maragrait Chaining. Willow has just found out about the magical world.

Zasha Smirnov

Appearance: Zasha stands roughly 5'11" with her hair constantly blue, although her natural hair color is blond. Her eyes are blue/green, although she will wear contacts that make her eyes purple with white pupils. She also wears plugs in her ears, a lip piercing, and a medusa piercing. She typically wears casual punk style outfits. Which the typical color scheme of whites, purples, and gray. She is a little bit muscular but has a slightly feminine body. She doesn't like to wear high heels but typically can be seen wearing skater high tops.

This weapon can be used along with magic, and be infused with magic as well.

Personality: Zasha is nice, kind-hearted, but due to her upbringing, she shows off a cold and tough exterior. Although she is kindhearted, she will be blunt. This is only a front that she puts out there because of something that happened to her in the past. She also sweet and wishes to help anyone that needs it. Zasha is above average intelligence and is someone that stays focused, even to the point that she'll forget simple things, such as eating or sleeping. She is a little naive, but it doesn't stop her from staying nice and kind-hearted. She finds that she tries to learn the magic from both sides of her family, not sure of what she wants to specialize in.

Family: Zasha's family is strict with Zasha. Because of the fact that she even though she had an older sibling her older sibling went in her own direction and because of that, they treat Zasha unfairly.

History: The long lineage of the Smirnov's family is somewhat hidden, however, they have set rumors among the small scattered covens in the motherland of Russia is that their bloodlines are connected to the legend of the witch known as Baba Yaga. However, through the ages, their coven has expanded their magical knowledge and several smaller covens under this family tend to focus on different elements such as fire, ice, wind, and others. On the Father's side of Zasha's family their magical ties in the realms of dark magic, and necromancy, and limited summoning magic.

It was in the 1940s when the great grandparents Smirnov's family moved to the Seattle area. However, they lived outside the Seattle area for quite a few years, due to the fact that they immigrated from Russia. However, they were still able to integrate their culture into where they were living now. Artemii meets Galina when Artemii went back to Russia in his college years and knew that she also had strong magical ties and did what he could to sweep Galina off her feet. After they got married, they had their two daughters.

PERSONALITY
Olin has a hardened heart, simply from the bloodline that he was born into. He has seen things that one cannot unsee, and has therefore become guarded and protected. He is stern and introverted. With a traumatizing role as necromancer, Olin enjoys escaping the world when he can, which he chooses to do through going to nightclubs, drinking alcohol, and doing occasional drugs. He is somewhat out of touch, but can snap back into reality when his skills are needed to protect himself and others of his kind.

While he tends to be on his own, he forms strong bonds with others and will protect them with his life. He is not a loner by choice, but simply as a result of his upbringing, and it does not bring him to joy to be like this. ​

He dresses very well and many find him incredibly handsome, but very rarely does he choose to engage in any romance that requires the opening of his heart. One night stands and quick romances, however....well that's another story.

HISTORY/FAMILY
The Valr Family is an ancient family originating from deep within the caverns of Iceland. They were part of the region's larger coventry, with skills in high magic, ordained by the High Priest and Priestess and designated as the Covenry's necromancers when it came time for the witches to be assigned roles. Through magical rite they were imbued with the ability to communicate with and control the dead.

Through the years, they served their coven and protected other life on earth through various necromancing skills. This included communicating with the dead for divination purposes, helping recently dead people to pass over peacefully, banishing ill-intending spirits from the earthly plane, summoning demons, closing portals to keep demons from entering the earth or opening them to do just the opposite, and more of the like.

This has been a challenging role for Valr's, so much that many of them believed themselves cursed and committed suicide. Necromancers are considered neither good nor evil, and have the power to act upon either one to bring either immense good or monumental disaster. Living in-between worlds is challenging for a Valr, as it can become difficult to stay present in the planetary realm as well as perpetually hear the torments and cries of those who have died in suffering.

Rhoden Heath
(Dreg)

Name: Rhodendron Heath, Rhodon for short
Origin of the name: Came from the ancient Greek Rhodon meaning Rose and Dendron meaning Tree. In flower symbolism, however, Rhodendron is associated with caution or "Beware". They are toxic to some animals and could cause hallucinogenic and laxative effects on humans.
Age: 27
Zodiac: Capricorn

Saying: "May whoever god you pray on listen to your cries."

Personality: Rhoden is a heartless bastard and revels in the discomfort of others. This kind of attitude had him fitting with the Dregs rather nicely. What differs him from them is his grayish morals and bi-polar tendencies. Though he takes in delight in watching people getting hurt, he rescues those who are under the legal age and those above 75. It is this type of characteristic that had the Dregs cautious of him.

Family: Rhodon grew up with the Dregs all his life. He cared not for his blood relatives since he was taught not to get too close with those around him.

History: Growing up in the ways of the coven, Rhodon relied heavily on magic. He could not do simple chores without muttering a spell or two. That was, until he discovered that their group, the coven, needs the blood of those born with the gift of magic flowing their veins.

His anger to the unfairness of this had caused him to take up weapon [none of it made of steel] and drain the blood of those who were gifted. This was when he was fifteen years of age. Then, he was the youngest to take a kill of a named witch.

The battle with that witch had him realizing that he needs more than magic to achieve his goals. He trained in combat-magic and weapons. He was opened to the modern world. Oh, gods, he hated how everything was infused with iron. Though he could touch those infernal objects, it interferes with his use on magic.

Currently, he has the third highest kill. He stopped at 65 bodies. The thrill, the anger, the things that drove him, had lost its hold on him. He just wants to see where this all goes or when the proverbial excrement hits the fan.

Still attends the Dregs' ceremonies.

Appearance: Rhodon stand 5'10" and is quite lean. He usually covers his lower face either a face mask or a scarf. This was to conceal his black lips. Rhodon does not go out without a hood to cover both his blue-black hair and his eyes. Nobody actually knows what his eye color is since he takes extra measures not to show them, going as far as to actually using blindfolds.

When with the coven, his usual attire hides every inch of his body. He wears heavy cloaks and a wooden mask that resembles a raven's skull.

Other Notes about the character:

• Rhodon is inept at hiding his magic in plain sight. He could create barriers while merely walking around a house.
• He uses any means necessary to win a battle.
• Generally, he observes the surroundings and the battle before deciding to join or not. To piss off a lot of people, he does not care who he helps. he just wants to even the playing field before once again getting into the background to watch. [He almost got killed when he went against the Dreg with the most kill]
• Though he is sadistic, he hates seeing his own blood.
• Favorite drink is milk. Least favorite is soda.
• Rumors say that he does not have eyes. Rhodon always denies this.
• When angry, he has this mannerism of pursing his lips and smiling [or grinning].

Salvatore Russo

Appearance: He stands at 6'2", with emerald green eyes, he typically wears casual clothes but always wears dress pants and has his ear pierced. His color scheme is typically blacks, grays, green, and sometimes blue. He has various tattoos. When he likes to go partying, he likes to change his hair color to different colors depending on his mood.

When what Salvatore is being possessed by what he has sealed inside him, his eyes become a yellow-green thin iris slit like a cat, but more demonic in nature and his voice becomes almost otherworldly. His veins become much easier to see through his skin, also becoming much paler in complexion. His nails become sharper and can easily tear flesh and bone. He also becomes more aware of the flow of magic and can easily outmaneuver whoever may be after him.

Personality: Salvatore in his younger years was a kind-hearted soul, and very efficient in ways of magic and combat. He can be blunt when around other guys, but tries to lay on the charm when it comes to a woman; however, in his later years he became curious about other guys but has not acted out on it. However, when it comes to Zasha, he won't hesitate to make fun of her, because they are actually cousins.

Family: Unlike Zasha, Salvatore had a generally good childhood as far as he can remember, however something that Salvatore does not know is that his family had secretly locked away something powerful, dare say demonic in Salvatore, but since have manipulated his memory to not be aware of such a thing. The only thing that keeps what sealed inside him in check is a tattoo over his heart in the middle of his chest. He maintains contact with his family, some for better or worse. The Russo family has many ties to different kinds of magic, The mother's side being involved with elemental magics, the father's side including powerful summoning magic, including the ability to summon familiars and high-class demons.

History: Although the Russo family has a long time connection to magic, because of their connections to demon summoning, they have been removed as one of the main family bloodlines, but they still have strong ties and connections to those that use magic. They have strong connections back in Italy but have recently moved to the pacific northwest from Italy. Although the family is not apart of the main bloodline, they do not support the recent uprising of Dregs. They assist any witch or anyone who happens to run into any Dregs. They currently reside in the outskirts of the Seattle area.

Back in the WWII era, the Russos were on the side of Hitler and his reign; they attempted to summon a very powerful demon to attempt to turn the tide of war, however, the one who attempted to summon it, was unable to control it. So the only way they could contain it was to seal the demon into a male child. So every Russo male child has had to house the demon inside them, When Salvatore was born, Gabriele passed it on to him, transferring the sealing spell along with it, the seal changing depending on whom it is transferred to.

Well I have been unable to sleep, and I wanted to make a male character, one that was not apart of the main bloodlines, but one that wasn't a Dreg either. I also wanted to make a slightly creepy, slightly complex character as well. Also thought that if Zasha and Salvatore were cousins, similiar to Willow and Freya, but completely different it would introduce a different dynamic.

Dominik Grigorian​

Appearance:
20 y.o., About 5'10", black hair, blue eyes, usually wears his black coat and circle shades when he's outside.


Affiliation:
Neither Dreg nor Conventry. Affiliated with his own family. Other covens detest his family.


Personality:
He's a very prejudiced person who usually tries to look for something in anyone that makes them seem less than him. He's bossy and may be quite sour when his business is being meddled by someone. He likes to follow his own set of rules and experiments with breaking the rules of any system, and he prefers to work alone.


Family:
The Grigorian family is an infamous family taking its roots from Armenia (though the family may share several connections to that of the Caucasus, Central Asia, Mongolia, and Russia). The Grigorians are well-known among the magic community for having a long history of allegedly committing crimes against both witches and regular humans, and many speculate that they may have ties with the Dregs. Thus, they are unaffiliated with any coven, and they are trained to do work by themselves. They are known to practice telekinesis, though Dominik's research has opened up that his family's magic involves spacetime.


History:
Dominik Grigorian was born in Yerevan to a Russian mother and was taught the art of magic at a very early age; his father, Agheksanter Grigorian, taught him magic intensively and rigorously.
For most of his childhood, he has been traveling across Europe and Asia (mostly in Russia), but has chosen to stay in America to study. He studies and takes his degree online, and is studying physics; currently, he researches on the scientific side of his abilities and magic in general.
His source of money, wealth, and funding for his research partially comes from his family—however, he is hiding a much more sinister side. He sometimes exchanges information with the Dregs (though his relationship with the Dregs is very tense, and he sometimes works against the Dregs), and he also has some connections across Russia in which they commit crimes in order for the Grigorian family to remain affluent.
His goal is to discover more things about his magic and magic used by others.

Katri Del Rose​

Personality: Katri is driven, at times she can be rude without meaning to be. She spent a lot time on her own making her cold and unwelcoming. She has a dark sense of humor and is very good at "getting under people's skins. Katri tends to act first think later giving her a very unfiltered demeanor.


History: Katri grew up in a small picturesque town in France. The Cobblestone streets and half-timbered buildings of Dinan were her stopping grounds for the early years of this huntress's life. She was born out of wedlock in the early 80's making her to be in her 40's with the look of a young 20-year-old. Katri comes from a long line of demon hunters. The more demons they slay the slower they age.

From what Katri can find, her family dated back to the mid-18th century where a deal was stricken with a powerful European coven. The deal being so long as the Del Rose lineage was to continue without the clock of man ticking in their ear, they would have to slay demons riding the goddess's soil from treacherous evils. As far as Katri can tell her family has managed well in keeping up with their Bargen with the coven.

Katri has been on her own since she was 7 years old, her mother told her as much as a 7-year-old could take in before she died in 1990. Natalia Del Rose was returning from a hunt when a large truck took out her and her brother August. As the spell only effects aging, with natural deaths theirs no stopping it.

Katri was orphaned and placed in an all-girls home until she was old enough to go out on her own, she made her first kill at age 12 in a town not far from the town she grew up in. She made her way through Europe, learning everything she could about her family and taking out as many demons as she could before coming to America in 2014. Where her slaughter continued.

Katri had been training herself since the day she could walk her heritage means the world to her. Carrying on her lineage has always been important to her but she has never taken the time to stay in one place long enough to build any sort of connection with another person. She mostly looks at people in her life as coworkers. All doing whatever they need to do to survive.

Another perk to the hunters' spell is strength, they are all given the strength needed to conquer their enemies, no more no less, so to speak.
