Hello, fellow writers.I’m Kat, and I’m back looking for a handful of long-term writing partners who enjoy character-driven stories, complicated relationships, delicious tension, and plots that inevitably become far more elaborate than either of us intended.
If you’re looking for rapid-fire one-liners and characters falling desperately in love by page two, I am probably not your person.
If you enjoy slow burns, morally grey characters, yearning, rivalry, power struggles, forbidden relationships, complicated friendships, emotional damage, sharp dialogue, protective idiots, terrible decisions and characters who insist on developing lives of their own...

✦ ABOUT ME
I’m a woman in my late twenties and have been roleplaying for years.My writing usually ranges from multiple paragraphs to novella-style replies, depending entirely on what the scene needs. I don't believe in adding six paragraphs describing a curtain simply to reach an arbitrary word count, but when a scene deserves detail, I will happily disappear into it.
I write in third person, past tense, and strongly prefer partners who do the same.
Real life exists, unfortunately, and mine can become busy. I don't expect daily replies and don't want my partners feeling pressured to provide them either. Sometimes we'll fire several replies back and forth. Sometimes life will eat one of us for a week.
Communication solves most things.
✦ WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR
The biggest thing?Collaboration.
Please bring your own characters, ideas, twists plot decisions to the table.
I don't want to be the only person moving the plot forward. Introduce NPCs. Ruin our characters' plans. Give your character ambitions that have absolutely nothing to do with mine. Suggest scenes. Create conflicts. Message me at an unreasonable hour because you suddenly realised exactly how we could emotionally devastate them three chapters from now.
That is my kind of writing partnership.
I especially love stories where romance is important without being the entire plot.
Give me politics. Careers. Families. Wars. Friendships. Rivalries. Crime. Medicine. Sports. Magic. Reputation. Duty. Survival.
Then put two people who absolutely should not want each other in the middle of it.
Much better.
✦ THINGS THAT OWN MY SOUL ✦
Slow Burn
Give me lingering looks nobody acknowledges. Accidental touches that suddenly aren't accidental. Arguments with suspicious amounts of sexual tension. Jealousy they have absolutely no right to feel.
Let them earn it.
Enemies / Rivals to Lovers
Actual friction, please.They don't need to despise each other, but I want competing goals, opposing loyalties, wounded pride or enough history between them that being attracted to one another is deeply inconvenient.
Friends to Lovers
Especially when one of them realises first.Extra points for years of history, terrible timing and everyone else noticing before they do.
Forbidden Romance
This trope has me in a chokehold.Wrong family. Wrong rank. Wrong team. Wrong social class. Wrong side of a war. Best friend's sibling. Political enemies. Someone promised to somebody else.
Give me consequences.
Power & Competence
I adore capable characters.Surgeons. Soldiers. Athletes. Queens. Lawyers. Criminals. Professors. Executives. Heirs. Warriors.
Two competent people circling each other is infinitely more interesting to me than one helpless character existing purely to be rescued.
Unfortunately, I remain only human.

Fantasy / Historical
This is probably my greatest weakness.Royal courts, political marriages, noble families, knights, warriors, witches, forbidden relationships, succession disputes, ancient magic and people wearing entirely too many layers while making extremely poor romantic decisions. Dragons. Don't get me started on dragons.
I particularly love:
Princess × Commander
She was raised to rule. They were raised to protect the crown. Neither anticipated becoming the other's greatest liability.
Noblewoman × Soldier
Different worlds. Different expectations. Absolutely inconvenient attraction.
Heir × Rival Heir
Their families would prefer a war.
Arranged Marriage
Give me two strangers forced into an alliance who fully intend to tolerate each other and absolutely nothing more.
Witch × Witch Hunter
You can already see the problem.
Sports Romance
Hockey currently has me by the throat.University or professional settings both work.

Give me competent adults with catastrophic personal lives.Surgeons, residents, emergency physicians, paramedics, nurses, hospital politics, impossible cases, exhausted people making life-or-death decisions and then somehow being expected to maintain relationships afterward.

I love taking something deceptively ordinary and making the characters' lives thoroughly complicated.Athletes. Medical students. Law students. Sororities/fraternities. Childhood friends. Academic rivals. Wealthy families. Secret relationships.
This setting works especially well when we let the characters grow beyond university and follow them into adulthood.
I am an absolute sucker for time jumps.
Give me characters at twenty-two making decisions that come back to haunt them at twenty-nine.

I am open to both canon and original characters depending on the universe.Current favourites include:
House of the Dragon / A Song of Ice and Fire
Rhaenyra Targaryen will apparently continue occupying valuable real estate in my brain indefinitely.
Throne of Glass or Anything from SJM's universe
Particularly anything involving Manon Blackbeak, the witches or an original character woven naturally into the world.

I write F/F and M/F, with a particularly large weakness for F/F stories.For M/F pairings, I am comfortable writing as the female.
I also happily write multiple important characters and NPCs. A story feels much richer when the universe contains more than two people staring intensely at each other in an empty room.
✦ ROMANCE & MATURE CONTENT ✦
I love romance.I love tension.
I love physical attraction.
I love characters losing their carefully maintained composure.
But chemistry comes first.
I would much rather spend twenty scenes building unbearable tension than rush characters into bed because the plot apparently checked its watch and decided it was time.
Any mature content should serve the characters and story rather than replace them.
