Hi there, I'm nightingale. I've been on the site for a couple of years, and am currently looking to open up my writing roster. A little bit about me: I've been roleplaying for over ten years and telling stories for as long as I can remember. My writing style probably lends more to novel-writing so I tend to pair best with role-players who also like to world build, add in side-characters and develop a plot that goes beyond an initial one x one pairing. I'm online quite a bit, so am usually able to reply a couple of times a week. However, I'm happy to pair with people who reply less or more than that assuming they understand my personal limits. Roleplaying for me is a fun way to write without conforming to a strict plan and it allows me to explore themes that are a lot darker or more out there than those I usually write. I'm also UK based but timezones don't tend to bother me, and I actually prefer them sometimes as it means I often wake up to replies!
What I'm looking for (...and I'm sorry but I am picky)
• Long term partners, who are interested in writing dark, intriguing themes, building a world and crafting a narrative that feels authentic. I don't like surface level relationships, insta-love or worlds that feel empty beyond our characters. I like romance that feels earned (unless it's already established etc...) and love characters that are multifaceted, conflicted and don't just think with their respective sex organs. With that said, I enjoy writing smut and will lean in when the story calls for it - consensually or otherwise. But I won’t romanticise the latter. I write very close to my characters and will explore their trauma to full effect. Essentially, I want compelling, realistic, grounded writing that amounts to real consequences and provides our characters with a serious narrative journey.
• When it comes to posting, I quite often kick off my rps with around 1500+ words. Please don't let this put you off, I like to use my early posts to establish characters, background and throw in some world-building. My usual posts are around 750-1000 words, but I'd be happy to write with a partner who sits around the 500+ mark, especially if it means we're moving consistently. I'm someone that appreciates quality over quantity, so as long as your post adds to the narrative and gives me something to work with, I'm happy! I write in British English, though will always make an effort to incorporate alternative spellings if the rp is set elsewhere. Samples of my writing can be found here, and if you're interested in writing together I'd like to ask that you send me through a sample too.
• I do appreciate OOC chat as a way to establish plot points and talk about our characters. It's not a must, but I do like to run ideas by partners and sometimes even offer up plans for down the line. If you like to do this too, be prepared for a lot of chatting. I can get very fan-girl very quickly... Happy to do this on here or on Discord.
Would we be a good match?
• As above, I'm looking to create something that feels grounded, even if the world itself is very high concept. Current genres I'm interested in writing in are dystopian, apocalyptic, cyberpunk etc... My favourite characters to write are strong women who are broken down, again and again, and then slowly built back up. Now this doesn't mean pages and pages of torture porn, but it's about creating a world where those dangers feel like a possibility. I want the harrowing chases through the wasteland, fights with realistic injuries and outcomes, broken people doing awful things to each other to survive.
• My main characters are almost always female, but I will double if the right story and or player calls to me. Happy to introduce side characters too, actually I kind of encourage it. I always say you're free to kill or control anyone that isn't my main character. And by that, I mean you can do whatever you want to them, just let me be the one to write what's happening in their head. I write in third person past tense only and I'd like to ask you do that same.
• I use writing as a form of escapism so I like things that are a little more out there world-building wise. That's not to say I won't do slice of life, but the idea of writing a very normal 'day-to-day' story just doesn't draw any interest for me. High class dalliances, mafia plot points or dangerous journalistic endeavours are more my thing if we're writing in the real world.
Loves to write: captivating characters, exciting plot lines, sexual content, jealousy, high-stakes, well-earned romance, action scenes, ANGST
Will write: darker content, non-consent, torture, violence, physical/sexual abuse - my limits are pretty much just whats below, but do ask if you're unsure about anything.
Won't write: scat, vore, pregnancy, sentient aliens or animals, anything that breaches site rules
Current Cravings:
Note: if you like the rough concept but want to change something please still reach out, I'm happy to be flexible, these are just how my brain spat the ideas out. If you see a possibility for doubling, want to introduce a completely different character and or twist then drop me a line.
So that's about it for me, please message if you have any plots you think might suit me or there's any of mine you'd like to try out. Always happy to receive a dm, so if you have any questions or you're not sure, don't hesitate to ask!

Set in the fictional renaissance-esque Kingdom of Lantica, Violent Delights is an enemies to lovers romance which centres around my character Adela and her male-assassin equivalent. Raised within the walls of the White Rose Guild, both assassins have been trained from childhood by their fearsome Guildmaster. The story introduces them in their early twenties as nothing more than two soldiers with a common goal, but as the roleplay progresses we'll see a closeness develop between them. Through fight sequences, assassination plots and deadly masquerades a romance will flourish. But secrecy and betrayal threaten to tear them apart. For years Adela has kept quiet about the abuse she's endured at the hands of the Guildmaster, but there is only so much she can bear. When it all comes to a head will her male lover side with her, or will he be the one to bring her down? Seeking: Male assassin, 20s | Guildmaster, late 40s.
A Red Dead Redemption inspired Western. Myself and long-time writing partner @Brangutang are seeking up to two additional rpers to join our story. Please see here for our writing styles and what we usually get up to... warning it gets dark. Similarly, this story won't shy away from cruelty and violence.
It's 1897. The Stoakes-Mercer gang, led by Clay Stoakes and Aiden Mercer (played by myself and Brang respectively), are camped in Lemoyne, flush from a successful train heist, but with an existing $35,000 bounty on their heads. After years of bloodshed and lost members, Clay is looking to build something legitimate. But with a new crew stirring up trouble in Saint-Denis and old rivals circling like vultures, not everyone in camp is so willing to hang up their gun.
That's the premise in a nutshell, although myself and Brang already have some plot points cooking and would love to build the story out with others. I'm playing both Clay and secondary character, Eliza, who will also be open for romance at some point... So if you want a slow-burn, character driven story with real stakes, you've come to the right camp.
If you've read any of our stuff before, you'll know what to expect: graphic violence, grief, sexual menace, betrayal, but actually some really effective storytelling in amongst the horrors. That said, if heavy, mature themes aren't your thing, this won't be the RP for you. We need players who can help create a world where the dangers feel real, especially for the women in it. Given the year, we're after a roster that reads true to 1897, which means we're primarily looking for players who are happy to play at least one male character. This could be other gang members, enemies, bountyhunters, maybe even a Pinkerton or whatever you have in mind. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please don't hesitate to drop us a message.

The day the solar storm hit, the power never returned. No grid, no signal, no engines. A world built to run on power, failed within days. Through the long dark that followed, what was left of it tore itself apart. Now the cities are tombs, the roads lie empty, and the night belongs to the cruel and the desperate who've crowned themselves kings of it. No help is coming. There's no one left to call. Halley's father was an engineer, one of the few who understood what had failed and how it might be undone. When their shelter at his research lab was ambushed, the two of them set out across the dead country for the city where his ex-wife and Halley's mother had sought safety. Weeks into the road, an attack came. Halley's father fell and she escaped with his pack, running until the dark had swallowed the road behind her. Only later did she understand what she had escaped with, his research. Everything he knew about the broken world and what it might take to fix it. She can barely make sense of it, but maybe there's someone in the city who can. Pretty open with roles for this one: bad guys, good guys, a fellow researcher etc... lemme know if anything jumps out
A dark fantasy/fae story. Every year Maren's village sends a daughter past the thorn-wall to settle an old debt with the Court of the Fallow King. What happens on the other side, no one in the village could say, because no one had ever come back to tell it. Maren is this year's tithe, only the circumstances around her choosing were not merely down to fate. Last Autumn, it was her sister Greer taken by the fae, and ever since Maren has dreamt dreams that are not her own. Convinced Greer still breathes beyond the wall, Maren has spent the last year learning everything she can about the fae and the old bargains that bind them. And has trained tirelessly to prepare for what awaits her in their domain. When this year's choosing came round, Maren made certain it was her name called. Now she crosses the thorn-wall willingly, an old iron charm wrapped around her neck, intent on bringing Greer home. But what awaits her is an ancient court where time runs crooked and mortals are broken for sport. To reach Greer, Maren will have to last in place a intent on destroying her. She is safe as long as she holds the courts attention... unfortunately, it's occupants are easily bored. Potential character options but open to others: The Fallow King himself | Fallow Prince or Noble | The Forester - a possible mortal love interest who helps Maren prepare for the Tithe.
The bombs fell a generation ago, and what they didn't burn, the fallout poisoned. Most of the old world is dead land now, reduced to irradiated ruin where the ordinary folk sicken and die. Lark Kincade grew up there, a hunter and healer in one of the few scattered settlements outside of the hot zones. She'd thought herself ordinary until the Bloodfarmers came, the same way they once came for her mother. And she learned the truth they'd come for, that she is one of the rare few the fallout cannot touch, immune to the radiated world. In the north stands the Citadel, the last basion of the old world's order. The leaders there are bleeding the immune to create an army that can march through the fallout and take the wasteland whole. With no where left to run, Lark chances the toxic marshes and emerges on the other side unscathed. But what awaits her there is up to you... bountyhunter, raider, a bloodfarmer from the Citadel itself, whatever you envision. I recognise this story is quite high concept, but my intention would still be to keep it very grounded in nature.
A Robin Hood adajacent tale, set in the deep Greenwood of England, where the King is away at war and crueller men rule in his stead. The old faith is being driven from the wilderness by the Sheriff's men, who seek to put an end to witchcraft and heresy. Branwen is a seeress of the old ways, beholden to no lord. The hunters took her mother and now she runs, with nothing to her name but a prophecy she has never dared to speak aloud. She has seen that everything these men strive for will turn to ruin. The crown destroyed, the great lords at each others throats, and a foreign banner flying over english soil. The knight on her trail is low born and hungry, promised a land and a name of his own for eradicating all witch-kind from the King's land. The story introduces them as hunter and hunted, how it plays out is up to us. Perhaps a closeness growns in spite of everything standing between them, or maybe it's all betrayal and the hunt ends the only way a hunt can. Something for us to discover together! As with all of these, totally happy for you to take a different approach to character creation or introduce outlaw side/secondary characters in the woods.
So that's about it for me, please message if you have any plots you think might suit me or there's any of mine you'd like to try out. Always happy to receive a dm, so if you have any questions or you're not sure, don't hesitate to ask!
