I've had an idea for an rp, heavily inspired by the comic series SFSX by Tina Horn, a story about a group of sex workers who fight back against a hostile totalitarian government that controls the sex lives of its population. (The comic is very very good and worth a read!! It sets out the world much better than I will I'm sure
)
The idea is that censorship and ideas of 'purity' have become more and more prevalent in society, to the point that a dystopian government system has started governing the sex lives of their people. Sex is now meant only to repopulate - all 'unproductive' sex is not allowed, and those who try to partake in 'perverse' acts are taken by the government to be 'reeducated' - brainwashed into accepting the new regime. The world is bleak, all media is carefully curated to never show any sorts of corrupting messages. Porn, sex toys and hookers are all things of the past.
Our characters would be a series of sex workers, working in an underground club. The story would largely be about trying to survive and thrive in such an oppressive enviroment, and maybe eventually lead to themes of revolution and fighting back. This idea is very heavily influenced by the queer punk scene - being subversive and loud and refusing to stand down in the face of oppression, and the characters would be a wide array of genders and sexualities. While there's a big focus on sex as a theme, and I do imagine there'll be a fair amount of sexual content, I'm hoping for a more plot-heavy narrative, focusing on character relationships, the world, and the contention surrounding them.
