Quick idea I had a while back but wasn't sure what to do with (i.e. solo writing, 1x1 RP, or group)

This is mostly an interest check, so please message me if you would be down to participate in this story, so I know whether to turn it into a proper Group RP or just pursue it as a 1x1.

The basic idea for this RP is that it takes place in a world where out of nowhere, various organs, digits, and other body-parts started raining randomly from the sky. Not in huge number, but every few months, a new one might be discovered.

Eating these organs turns animals into monsters, and by the same token, it was found that if a human ingests them, they gain immense powers, which follow a loose logic based on the organ and 'god' it came from.

For example, eating an Eye would grant True-Sight, eating a heart would grant regenerative powers and immortality, eating a brain would grant telekinesis and mind-reading powers. And so forth.

It isn't known exactly where they come from, but the general consensus is that they are from higher-level beings, such as gods or demons, who are in a constant war, and slowly, the rended parts from their conflict fall to earth.

This has led to a sort of de-facto idea of a proxy war, where every kingdom, fiefdom, region, empire, and theocracy wants to have their own Organ-Bearer (or more than one). But due to both the unpredictability and instability of the powers granted by consuming a Divine Organ, many who have taken on the mantle of demi-godhood have died prematurely, and so there is demand to keep proliferating to prevent a power vacuum from forming.

Mostly looking for folks who want to RP was Organ Bearers, but other roles are possible. Such as supervisory roles that are appointed by each lord of a domain to monitor and support their own Organ-Bearer, to make sure they don't turn their power against their leader, or grow too unstable to risk losing their only deterrent against rivals sending their own Organ-Bearers after them.

Powers are free to craft as BYO but I will be monitoring the suggestions to make sure things aren't too unbalanced or overpowered, so brainstorming will probably happen.

I'm of course interested! A couple questions:

1. I take it from the mention of kingdoms and fiefdoms that this is set in a RPG-verse type of setting? Or is this more modern?

2. Are there any inherent downsides to being an Organ-Bearer? You mentioned instability and sort of "losing control"—is that in the emotional/geopolitical sense or in the personal, physical sense?

This is a medium-fantasy setting. Magic, as such, does not formally exist, but it is a medieval setting where powers suddenly emerge in the form of Divine Organs, giving rise to the first proper Monsters as well as Organ-Bearers, who are the first 'wielders of power' in this setting.

Instability and losing control, are on the personal level. Like Mao from Code Geass, if that reference tracks. The powers that you get from being an Organ-Bearer can have unforseen downsides and risks that are virtually impossible to mitigate, as magic does not exist. Medicines might be made to allay the symptoms of such downsides, but not outright treat or cure the underlying cause. Madness, sudden changes in personality, violent episodes, and even total erasure of the self, are all noted. In most such cases, the Organ-Bearers are executed before they can deal collateral to the civilians around them.
