Oh, good, you're here. Well, then, let me spin you a tale! The tale of Hell!

Now, as you know, things started pretty simply; Hell was nothing but an empty hole until God created Adam and Lilith, and asked the angels to bow before them, insulting Samael's pride in the process. Samael and a third of the legions of heaven then turned upon God and his creations, and were cast down to Hell for their troubles after a few epic battles that - while delightful to regurgitate - matter little in the grand scheme of things. Samael became Shaytan, Satan, or Lucifer - if you prefer - and in a prison of ice at the very depths of Hell, his seething rage and burning pride excited the flames which rose above. So came eternal fire and damnation.

Meanwhile, Lilith refused to bow down to authority much like himself, especially that of Adam who was to be her equal but yet God demanded she obey for reasons he refused to elaborate upon - male ego, am I right? So when she refused to obey Adam and he came to God for help she was cast down like the fallen angels for her troubles, falling so hard she ruptured the ice prison of Samael and fell in love at first sight with the man who was - after all - the most handsome of the angels, fallen or otherwise. God, meanwhile, omnipotent though he may be, acted blissfully unaware and birthed another woman from Adam's rib in the form of Eve. Samael - now going by Lucifer, Satan, Shaytan and all those other wonderful names - wounded that God would dare replace the woman he had made his own with a mere rib, rekindled his jealousy, and returned to Earth to seduce the rib woman into partaking of the forbidden fruit. He was cast away anew for his troubles, alongside the humans whom had disobeyed God, and the garden of Eden was shut forevermore.

Okay, that much is set in stone, its common enough lore, you didn't need me to blab on about that, but I had to set the scene.

While Lucifer and Lilith amassed ranks in Hell and accepted all the sinners' souls to whom God refused entry in Heaven for being lemon-stealing whor- what? Where is it written that it was an apple? Don't interrupt. Where was I? Oh right, so while Lucifer and Lilith amassed their armies, the world moved forward, and occasionally wars between the forces of Heaven and that of Hell would take place, often involving Earth as an unwilling third party, and this went on for eons until one day... Heaven won.

Well, it's not like Hell is doomed or gone, it was a Pyrrhic victory, but all the big demons, the princes, kings, dukes, and rulers, of Hell along with their forces all fell in battle, leaving Heaven too weak in turn to finish eradicating all of demonkind. God, whom had used the last of his "supposed omnipotence" - yes, we've been over this, the dude wasn't anymore perfect than anyone else, just very very powerful and creative, stop interrupting - to smite Lucifer for good, evaporated, his power having finally dwindled to nothing. A stalemate had finally been reached. But while the large fall, the small are still at large. Hell has lost, but is far from gone, and with the debauchery of mortals, it is only a matter of time until its ranks are made anew. What's more, without the authority of the long-lived, modernization is on the horizon, and Hell - ironically - never looked better. Unfortunately, much like Hell, Heaven too is bolstering its strength anew, and it's only a matter of time until - once again - the realms are at war. Now, between collecting souls, staking new claims and securing dominions for themselves now that the circles are free, and sticking it to the forces of good; demons have their hands full. You are one of these demons. What will you do?
