Hey hey!
Some of you might already know me, but for those of you who don't, I'm Lydia! I'm 28 (almost 29) and live in Australia, and I've been writing in general for two decades, with my foray into RP having started late into university. I've been writing on here for a few years now and wanted to see if anyone was interested in an RP idea I previously started that didn't quite get off the ground the first time.
A couple of notes to begin, before the text-dump.
1) The MC for this story can be any gender, queer-inclusive. They must, of course, be 18+, and should also be human for the purposes of the setting.
2) The plot idea as listed is ultimately just what ended up being hashed out with my partner OOC the first time around. Minor details are negotiable, but this request is specifically for the plot I have listed, so if you aren't interested in it as-written or close-to-as-written, please don't ask for a different story.
3) I understand that life happens, but I certainly appreciate and would ask for a solid line of communication. Anyone who wants to write this with me should reach out via DM, and should be willing to provide updates and read my messages. Inadvertent ghosting due to being off-site for extended period is not a problem but intentionally cutting off contact without any explanation is a big no-no. I would also ask that anyone who is not willing to continue writing this for a good stretch of time (multiple months or more) should probably hold off on volunteering, as I'm more interested in seeing where the story goes than just writing the same beginning over again.
4) All of my core characters in the story, aside from incidental NPCs and antagonists, will be F. This includes but is not limited to cis-fem. Any preferences regarding the harem element and the members therein should be discussed with me OOC prior to starting so neither of us are caught off-guard.
5) There will be romance/erotic scenes and while I enjoy writing those, I can get a bit bogged down if they start to crowd out the plot-progression or drag on for extended post-exchanges. Please be patient and understanding with me as I will much more often be able to reply within a non-adult scene than several posts into a smut-scene. Smut/Plot ratio is variable and negotiable, but I want there to be more story than smut because exploring cool story ideas is intellectually fulfilling for me and I find it easier to post in that vein, even if I do also enjoy writing smex.
With that out of the way, here is the text-dump for the plot:

General Setting: Medieval High Fantasy
Sci-Fi Element: Ancient Relics Precursor Civilization
Dynamics: Solo MC (Any) x F Harem Cast
Everyone is at a standard medieval high fantasy level, but there are ruins and relics of a long-dead civilization that developed incredibly advanced Relics: precursor tech from an ancient, vastly superior technological society.
The main interests guiding larger political endeavors would be to:
- Amass unexplored land and have it surveyed, reaping as many undiscovered relics as possible
- Provide support to contemporary efforts to recreate or hybridize defunct Relics using modern magic and engineering, to get as much power out of limited resources
- Try to invent or innovate new forms of magic that can rival Relic
- Use social, political, and ideological tools to create and leverage power disparities, amassing power in the form of surrendered or confiscated Relics, for either power or profit.
YC is a humble adventurer of as-yet-undetermined origin, who is currently working for a guild of exploration. The current commission they have been chartered for was a request by the new head of a prestigious family who had previously abstained rom playing the Relic proliferation game; this new family head wants to cement their current standing among their rivals by proactively finding any Relics within their demesne. YC would be one of a small number of low-ranking scouts who basically do the dirty work and risk their lives in exchange for the food, lodging, equipment, and protection offered by the Guild. Who then stumbles across an unprecedentedly powerful Relic, and has to both keep it hidden and figure out how to use it in order to save themselves from the consequences of inevitably being found to have it. -
This Relic in question is known as the Keystone, which is soul-bound and which possesses both sentience and sapience. YC becomes the sole administrator over the Keystone in the absence of any extant survivor from the precursor civilization it was created to serve. So no one else can claim its power unless YC authorizes them, or someone kills YC off to nullify the soul-bond.
The Keystone acts as a sort of Radar + Key + Power Source. As in, it could be used to (A) Perform long-range scans to determine the locations of other Relics (B) Grant Administrator Access to YC to control other Relics (C) Re-power any relics for which no suitable replacement power source has been found, or which has been separated from it. It wouldn't be able to do much on its own, though it manifests itself as a hard-light avatar that is capable of limited autonomous action to protect its soul-bound administrator from harm and serve their interests and requirements. - Relics operate on principles so much more advanced compared to modern magitech, that efforts to imitate them pale in comparison. Such imitations might require far too much spell-power, overheat quickly, be much harder to transport, or even explode if mishandled. So original Relics are far more reliable, even if they are somewhat enigmatic in terms of their full, hidden potential. Hence their desirability. Those relics that have been found, might already have been enshrined as the power-source for an entire research facility, or over-used to the point of losing their seemingly limitless, but ultimately limited power supply. So people are constantly searching for new relics to expand on the gains provided by existing ones, or replace ones that have become unusable.

Standard Scale
S: (Transcendent Relic) - vastly outshines any non-Precursor tech designed to achieve the same utility
A: (Grand Relic) - Modern technology cannot adequately recreate or replace the utility it provides, but future generations may be able to come close
B: (Greater Relic) - Modern technology can, with some care and difficulty, recreate or replace the utility it provides, but only as an imperfect copy (requires more input, may be volatile, harder to transport, requires frequent maintenance, etc.)
C: (Advanced Relic) - Modern technology can recreate or replace the utility it provides, but doing so could only be possible with the Relic on hand to study
D: (Basic Relic) - Modern technology, if left to its own course, may have taken far longer to achieve the same utility as provided by such a relic, but the possession of such a relic provides a stop-gap and ideal to guide development of a modern analogue
Non-Standard Scale
U: (Ultimate Relic) - Regardless of the inherent utility of the Relic itself, the contextual utility it provides is either limitless or immeasurable
N: (Null Relic) - Any relic whose utility cannot be ascertained adequately enough to assign it any standard rank, either due to an unknown activation mechanism, the context-dependent nature of its supposed effect, being depleted of its original power source, or otherwise damaged beyond the point where modern technology or other relics can restore it to its original functionality
(The relic YC finds would be a U-tier relic) - The main source of the harem aspect, beyond the Keystone Avatar, can be mix of former allies from the guild of exploration, as well as rogue explorers, researchers, rebels, dissidents, and refugees looking to YC as a source of aid, salvation, or hope that the limitless potential they have might bring about a greater revolution that would cut through the warmongering and profiteering, and restore the age of prosperity that the Precursors are supposed to have enjoyed. Some of them opportunists, some of them idealists, some of them simply having no better chance for assistance.
