Hello Visitor,

Welcome to my Compendium of some of my Characters. I have so many, and I thought I'd try to display some of my more developed and well-loved ones. It's been a while since I've made a good detailed character sheet, and many of the older sheets need updating, but it'll at least give some insight into the characters. Let me know if you'd like to chat about one, or would like to roleplay with one. If they have backstories, I do not adhere to those very strictly at all for roleplays. Just some of my more developed OCs have "Canon Stories."

Overview

He is about 5 feet 10 inches with a slim build, and he has a medium to light skin tone. He is pretty slim and is about 130 pounds. He has slightly wider shoulders and his torso gently tapers to his thinner waist. He is so skinny that no one notices his muscles through his clothes, however, when he wears short sleeves the muscles in his arms are decently defined because he is skinny and keeps in shape. His skin is pretty smooth. He normally tries to stay out of the sun, so unless there is a scar his skin is fairly even without the sun damage that many fair skinned outdoor laborers have. He has many scars on his hands and forearms from practicing sparring to become competent at the many weapons and skills when he trained to become an assassin. He is ambidextrous, but he leans more toward his right. This has helped his muscles, so they aren't as lop-sided like some people who have competence with weapons. Because not everyone that he comes across knows that he is ambidextrous, he likes to keep that as an ace up his sleeve.

He wears basic colors that everyone wears: greens, browns, grays, blacks, or whites. He likes to wear blue for nicer occasions. The other colors are more basic and better for being less noticeable or helping with camouflage. He wears soft-soled leather ankle-high boots. The soft soles help him to walk quietly. His clothes are very plain and common. There is no decoration on them. He likes to wear comfortable linen or cotton clothing. He always wears pants preferably thick cotton pants. He wears different length-sleeved shirts depending on the season. If he is not on the job he enjoys going barefoot.

He has a chiseled face. He has a sharp jawline and a pointed chin. He keeps his face clean-shaven most of the time, but sometimes he lets his face start to grow stubble because it takes a decent amount of effort to shave. He doesn't like facial hair because he finds that it pricks him. He has a medium nose bridge and his nose is small. He has bushy brows that have to be plucked to be kept tamed and decent looking. Underneath his wide-set brows are his light grey, blue-green eyes. He has thick eyelashes, that people often comment on if they get close to him. He has medium-sized lips that are pinkish nude. He has a concave-convex profile and his forehead is wide enough that he pulls some of his hair slightly over to make it seem less wide. He has thick straight black hair with lighter strands mixed in. It often gets tangled and gnarled if he lets it grow too long. He doesn't like to take the time to groom it properly. It is thick, healthy, and shiny. He gets bored and likes to change his hairstyle, hairdo, and even hair color. Sometimes he grows it out and keeps it tied in a ponytail. At the moment it is short and about the same length all over. It is still short and spikes in clumps all over. He has ears on the larger side, but as long as he keeps his hair long enough to slightly cover them it isn't too noticeable.

His hands are smaller than the average male, and his fingers are long and slender reminiscent of an artist's hand. He keeps his fingernails fairly short, so they don't get in the way, but he still has a nail because sometimes it is handy to be able to pick at something. The callouses and scars tell you that these hands have been exposed to a lot of hard labor. He has medium-sized feet for his size. While his legs are muscular they are not any great size. They just aren't flabby with disuse. He has dark brown hair on his arms and legs and chest.

He is a bit quiet and aloof. Most situations are dangerous, and it isn't wise to reveal too much information. No matter how good he is at something, people will still get more information out of him if he is talking than if he kept his mouth shut. He likes to be quiet and listen to what is going on around him. He learns important information that sometimes helps him to avoid people such as where they will be and their patterns and likes and dislikes. He is pretty smooth, and he's a fast thinker. He has managed to get out of punishments that way using his brain. He has a quiet confidence and he isn't one to quail from fear. He can be bold and he does what needs to be done. At first glance, he is respectful and polite. He certainly doesn't want to get too involved nor does he care what is going on. He may be quiet, but he seems nice. He knows how to smile and acknowledge someone so that he gains a good first impression. It's easier to do his job when people like him and don't want to get in his way. He tries to please, and he's helpful. He's a smooth talker.

He's not afraid of conflict, and often he's the cause of it. He normally remains fairly even-tempered. He is not easy to provoke to anger. He would prefer to hold the grudge for an eternity until they have let their guard down all the meanwhile plotting their downfall. He does not get anxious easily. Arguments don't phase him, and he isn't too worried about pain or dying. He is very good at persevering because he continues to work at something until he succeeds. He's patient, and he is fine with taking a long time to accomplish something. He's not one for taking unnecessary risks, so he often takes a long time. He likes to upset things hoping that he can take advantage of the moment. He's a natural loner and prefers not to have to deal with other people. He normally finds their problems rather silly, particularly the well-off ones. He is sly and intelligent, so it's hard to catch him in the act. He's naturally sneaky and he has a talent for lying. He is good at keeping his facts straight and mixing in enough truth at the right time for it to be believable. He has an excellent memory and an eye for detail. He is good at keeping things to himself. He doesn't like to depend on others, so he's not good at teamwork.

He is very observant and he has a quick wit. If someone is slower than him, which is often, he can be annoying and condescending. He is quick to react to changes, and he is highly adaptable. If he wasn't so quick-witted he might not be nearly as annoying, and as good at manipulating. He has a long memory, and he holds long grudges. He knows how to be sophisticated, and to fit in with social graces, as there have been times he needs to blend in with all different types of people. He knows how to have a sense of humor, but he often doesn't bother with laughing unless he is trying to blend in. He is good at making himself look older or younger, depending on the situation.

While he can be arrogant and likes others to appreciate his intelligence and skill, he is not particularly cruel. Unfortunately, the only people who can truly appreciate his intelligence are his targets. They are also the only ones he can gloat about it too, because if he does his job successfully hopefully no one else will know what happened to them so he remains safe from law enforcement. He doesn't enjoy hurting others, but he does enjoy a well-executed plan. Although he doesn't enjoy hurting others, it doesn't bother him if it benefits him. He doesn't get easily attached, but he does keep his word. He knows that many would consider him a dangerous weapon, and he is already unpredictable, so he has to do what he says he is going to do. If someone hires him, they have to know that they are going to get the results they want. If someone hasn't hired him for a current job, he doesn't have to tell them the truth. He is very judgmental, and he is normally right. When he isn't keeping his mouth shut, he enjoys pointing out others' flaws. He is very callous and inconsiderate when he isn't trying to win favor.

Pandora desperately wants a connection with others but tests them making sure they won't run out on her. She can be quite cynical. Since she is normally one of the best trained, someone is always wanting something from her. Intrigue is not her forte. She much prefers to deal with things straightforwardly. She prefers to be honest, and blunt with each other. She doesn't really know how to stave off others from using her, so she has come to stop trying to fight. She can be easily manipulated.

She's a seether. When she gets angry, many can see her tense and try not to snap. She has a lot of pent-up emotions, but she has been told that she can't let it loose because it's unprofessional. She's often around those that it would be a very big mistake to lose control. She has been trained to not let emotions affect her decisions. Normally, she tends to be aloof and reserved. She has been told that being too friendly is a distraction. She uses sarcasm as a barrier to her real emotions. She doesn't want people to know the full extent to what they do and says affects her. She is also lonely because she hasn't let anyone get close to her and she hasn't gotten close to anyone.

She seems harsh. She has high standards that she holds herself to and sometimes holds others unfairly. She is hard on herself when she fails. If she has a job at hand, she can put her disappointment to the side, but she will save it to beat herself later. She is a hard worker and willing to do whatever it takes to get it done. She is relationally awkward. She is average at communicating when it comes to making plans and executing them, but she doesn't know when to communicate, how to communicate, or what to communicate her feelings with friendships and other relationships. She prefers staying out of the spotlight.

She gives off a cocky confident exterior. Knowing that women are considered tougher, she feels the need to project that confidence to everyone she encounters. She can become detailed oriented, and she forgets to look for the big picture. She can be self-centered and concentrates on herself too much when she should be keeping an eye on her principal. She hates any form of failure, and witnesses are the worst. This fear of failure is a very large motivation in her life. She maintains a frosty impassive, cutting exterior.

She is very pragmatic, not allowing herself to dwell on what-ifs for too long. She doesn't think too far ahead, because it stresses her out dealing with only one thing at a time. She does try to plan ahead, but it normally doesn't work out. She is willing to do what is needed to be done. She pays very close attention to people, so she expects the same scrutiny in her direction, which makes her worried about how others view her. She works hard because she wants to have something to depend on. She is really smart and hard-working.

Even when she doesn't feel like it, she completes jobs, chores, etc. that she has been assigned. She often makes goals for herself and completes them. She has a really low tolerance for stupidity. She has a quick sharp tongue and she isn't afraid to use it. She does have self-control and doesn't criticize out loud half of the things she thinks. She has been working on her negative outlook on most things, feeling that she is spiraling helplessly out of control. She expects the best out of everyone and everything. She can be very critical and gets annoyed easily.

She's come to find others disappointing. She is very rigorous with her discipline and finds it astonishing that others do not hold themselves in the same regard. They often don't hold themselves to as rigorous a standard and are therefore less reliable. While she may appear very put together on the outside, often she has no idea what she is doing or where she is going next. She only has her routines to give her some continuity. She works too hard on containing herself and not showing any part of herself, that she doesn't have the time or energy for anything else.

Background

it all started when...

Pandora was born to Lavrentios and Evdokia Aurothos. Three years later her younger brother Gavriil was born. Pandora's history has caused her to be very cynical. She has had to fight every day of her life for a crumb of respect from those around her. The Authoros family immigrated to Sythlus. While they were allowed to live there, they were not given the privilege and rights of citizenship. Her family continued to look for an opportunities to become citizens.

Her father, Lavrentios, governed an ill-disciplined household that barely made ends meet during his life and went bankrupt under the leadership of her younger brother Gavriil after Lavrentios' death. Pandora was sixteen when her father died. Pandora and her mother, Evdokia, worked quietly trying to slow their descent into bankruptcy by raising their own funds, hiding some of the household income to pay off debts and buy food, and inventing short term money raising schemes such as selling assets or advising Gavriil's spending.

Gavriil was too untrained and unskilled. He also had a proclivity for spending excess money, so he began to turn to alternative ways to make money such as marrying his sister off in a beneficial alliance, or selling her as a slave, to a brothel, or to whomever offered the highest price. Her mother, Evdokia, did not have the strongest personality and did not protest, perhaps seeing it as a necessary evil or the only option left. Even so, there was nothing that she could legally do if Gavriil got it into his mind that he would do it.
Pandora quickly figured out her options. Nobody wanted to marry a sinking family, so Pandora had no hope of pretending to have an honorable life once she was sent away from her family. She refused to become a slave or work in a brothel. Eventually, she learned that the army was willing to enlist women, particularly during that time because of unrest and tensions. She would prefer to die in the military than the alternatives she was given. She saw no other way to preserve her autonomy and have some grain of self-respect, as she figured her brother would find her and bring her back if she tried to work any other way. Her brother's plans did not come to fruition, because she joined the army around a year after her father's death at eighteen years old. She reminds herself what the alternative lifestyles are, and that she has the chance to become a citizen of Sythlus this way. At the very least she has income and her basic needs met.

The training was tough, but she lasted seven years there before her contingent was stationed near the Arena, a place known for forcing creatures to fight each other in order to survive. It was also a convenient place to send those who had committed crimes. They provided amusement and were punished, killing two birds with one stone. She learned how to use weapons well in the army, and she is known for her excellent technique. She has found a place teaching new recruits. While she is not a tiny woman, she is considerably weaker than many of the men. She learned that there is a lot of opportunity to make money fighting in the Arena, and she has the advantage of actually having been trained. She tries to sneak out of the camp every so often to participate in a fight hoping that if she becomes wounded it quickly kills her instead of her superior in the army punishing her or the managers of the Arena doing something about her.

Her childhood did not inspire a lot of familial love in Pandora. While there is resentment toward Evdokia, she would be willing to contact her mother again, but she wants nothing to do with Gavriil. She is afraid to reach out for fear that Gavriil will find her and take away her autonomy.

Finn holds himself with confidence. Although he is barely an adult, many will treat him like one because of the way he carries himself and treats others. He has a skinny lithe fairly muscular build. It is still lanky and boyish. He stands at around 5' 11." He has a wider shoulders and it tapers to a narrow waist, because he is skinny and he has an averagely wide frame. He does not have a lot of excess fat on him. His arms have defined ropy muscles. While he does not have a protruding belly, and it is clear that he is active and fit, his abdomen muscles are not nearly defined as his arms. His legs are slightly longer than his torso and are on the thinner side. He has large hands and large feet. His fingers are long and skinny, and his palms are wide. He has two scars on his right shoulder that are side by side. They are pinkish and slightly raised. They extend downward toward his chest. He also has a scar on his right arm slightly above the bend of his elbow. He has a fourth scar extending from the right side of his belly upward toward the center of his abdomen. He has lighter skin, but for his skin tone he has some tan.

Finn has long messy tangled blond hair that falls a little past his shoulders but not quite to his arm pits. It is often greasy and has very uneven lengths. He needs a good hair cut and straightening out of his appearance. His hair is mostly straight and kinda wavy. He does not know how to deal with it and often leaves it alone which means it gathers twigs and random bits of dust and hair oil. The individual hair strands are thicker and more coarse. He has long messy bangs that can fall to the tip of his nose. His bangs often block his vision unless he ties them back. It is not uncommon to see him constantly push his hair out of his eyes with his hands or comb it out. He has a lock of his hair, which has something green wrapped around it. He normally prefers leather because it lasts longer, is more suitable for the job, and looks more masculine, but he has been known to use other things from vines to ribbons offered to him.

He has blue eyes with almost a purple tinge which makes them look deeper than most. His eyes are such a pure blue that it is obvious they are blue from a bit of a distance away. His eyes are slightly set into his skull. His eye brows are blond but thick enough and dark enough where they are kinda bushy and obvious, making it noticeable that he does have eyebrows so he does not look odd. He has a long skinny neck which connects his head to his bony shoulders. His face is still boyish and smooth. He does not have the harder lines or bigger protrubances of a man. He has a narrow pointy chin and wide cheeks. Although his cheeks protrude and he is skinny, his cheeks remain rounded while his cheekbones are still evident. He has a medium forehead and is on the shorter side. The profile of his face is concave and convex. His forehead does not protrude out in a noticeable way, especially compared to his lower face which juts out. His nose and mouth stick further out. His nose is skinny and slightly pointed at the tip. He has a more shallow nose bridge than would be expected. He has thin lips and a wide mouth. They are very nude in color and are often hard to see in comparison to the skin on his face. He keeps his face clean-shaven as he cannot grow a decent amount of facial hair. He also likes the way his face feels better without facial hair.

His clothing is patchy and mismatched. He has had to make his own clothes out of the leather of many different animals. He has been known to trap small animals and does not necessarily have the best skills to hunt a predator or large hoofed mammal. He prefers wearing boots that are around ankle-high. It protects his feet, makes it easier to bend his ankles, and allows him to tromp through prickly undergrowth without concern for thorns and maybe even some snakes. He prefers to wear pants as they are more suited to a rougher country. Leather pants protect his legs, although they are not the best for keeping the temperature moderated. Admittedly, especially when he was younger Finn does like to not wear a shirt. It makes him feel more...manly? However, that's one of the reasons he has ended up with so many scars on his abdomen, so he has become more willing to wear a shirt for protection and he has become slightly more aware of decorum.

Personality

He has a naturally friendly face, and he stands straight with confidence. He is quick to approach others and initiate pleasantries. He is a decisive person who does not vacillate. He trusts his gut and makes a choice promptly. He is a bit of an adrenaline junkie and tends to get dangerous ideas and implements them immediately before he considers the consequences. It has led him to have a high physical pain tolerance. His brain does not register danger and fear as strongly. When he is doing something dangerous he forgets that he can die.

He can be a bit of a know-it-all. Once he starts talking he is like a relentless flood of words, and he will interrupt and tell you things you already know or did not know and did not want to know and anything in between. He talks like his opinion is the only one that is right. While he will concede things if you push back against him, he will be back at spouting the same opinion not long after. He is capable of seeing when his opinions will cause a constant fight and tension and he is capable of keeping his mouth shut and being amiable. There are few people that hang out with him regularly and willingly that are confrontational to push back against his statements constantly because it would result in a friendship that is constantly with tension. Admittedly, he is normally not completely wrong.

He will accept help if it is offered, particularly if he can tell someone is just trying to be friendly. He bridles at someone thinking he needs their help, and he rarely asks for help. He normally figures something out. He enjoys being with people and not feeling alone. He likes to do things with his hands and keeping his mind busy. He prefers hands on work and getting things done. He is working on being mellow and tries to convince everyone else he is mellow. He does not worry about problems springing up because he figures they will either work out in the end or it won't be his problem anymore. He goes quiet when he is annoyed, tired, sad, or grumpy. He can be a little snappy when he is angry, but he normally covers it up with silence or niceness.

While he tries to get a lot done, he isn't the biggest planner. He does not pay a lot of attention to the time preferring to take a polychronic approach to time. He is often late and it doesn't worry him too much. As long as he is doing something productive, it will get done when it needs to be done. Due to his impulsiveness and sense of time, he is spontaneous with his plans. It is easy to convince him to go do something fun or ask him to help with some type of work. He does enjoy being useful. He normally has a smile on his face and he walks more proud after he has helped someone. He hates not having the answers and leaving someone in the lurch.

Independence + Problem Solving

He is very independent which has resulted in him being excellent at talking himself out of or physically getting himself out of a mistake. He is not the quickest to accept help, and he rarely asks for help even though it could make the solution easier.

Intuition + Confidence + Impulsiveness

His gut is normally reliable, particularly in regards to judging people. However he often lets his gut drive other decisions which can cause a few problems such as when he has time to think and his feelings and instincts do not line up with the facts, or he trusts his gut and he does something impulsive and dangerous [such as jumping off of a cliff into water without checking how deep the pool is at the bottom] without further consideration for a better plan.

Know-it-all + Arrogance

He knows a lot about a lot and can keep a conversation going even one-sided indefinitely, particularly if he gets on a tangent about something he is passionate about. It also means that he has the ability to talk with a lot of different people, and he has the people skills to be engaging and a good conversationalist. He can be annoying correcting other people, but he can also impress some with his knowledge. He is not the most open-minded person, because he is confident that he is right.

Observant

He is observant and watches people closely for danger. He also likes being in tune with nature through tracking. Being observant makes him a better protector and better hunter.

He enjoys doing things particularly with physical risk to his life. He enjoys facing physical challenges.

He enjoys tracking and hunting because it is a challenge and makes him feel in tune with nature and more aware and observant.

She is approximately 5' 3" and weighs 110 pounds, but she may have an inch left in her. She has a curvy hourglass figure, and she has a longer leg to torso ratio. She has a medium bust, and she has rounded legs and hips. She is pretty slim and fit. There is no obvious excess fat. She diets and exercises to keep her body and mind in tip top shape. Her hands and feet are small and delicate appearing.

Think hawaiian. She has dark brown waist length hair. It has little waves in it. It is smooth, healthy, and shiny. It frames her small delicate round shaped face. Her face is rounder than average, and she has a small wide flat nose. She has a small sprinkle of freckles across her nose. Many times she prefers to leave her hair down, so that it softly frames her face. Sometimes she has small strands in the front of her face pulled back and tied in the back or those strands are braided and pulled back. She prefers hairstyles that keep her hair down. When she is excerising or there is hot whether it is more common for her to braid her hair or put it in a pony tail.

She has medium lips, and a small dainty nose. She has dark brown eyes, and medium eyelashes. She has slightly darker colored arching eyebrows, which are shaped to be neat, but still appear natural. Her eyes are large and round, giving her an innocent appearance. Her eyelashes are thick and long.

She has obvious smile lines, because it is a common facial expression for her. Her features give her a happy impish appearance. Her lips are full and a light pink color. They often curve up slightly as if in a hidden smile. Her cheeks are a healthy rosy hue. Her skin is smooth and wrinkle free, and her face has a few spots of acne every now and then.

Personality

She is very kindhearted and is quick to come to anyone's help who is in need. She is well known for her effort to engage everyone and treat them with fairness. She has an outgoing personality, and she tries to make sure that everyone is comfortable and feels at home. She tries to unite people from different backgrounds and perspectives, and she is humble enough to realize that she does not know everything, so she is quick to listen. She enjoys listening and feels useful when people are willing to confide in her.

With her friends and those who are willing to put up with it, she is quick to show the side that enjoys being spontaneous, goofy, and having fun. She is playful and has a wide range of humor that she'll laugh at. She has a quick wit and good timing when she does make jokes. She can be a light flirt rarely meaning anything serious about it. She is not known for being subtle. Either she mentions it up front or she does not say anything. She can be shy, timid, and quiet. She has her people. Although she is willing to reach out to new people, she prefers time with her people to be set aside and separate and special.

Backstory

Her first story involved her being a mindreader and meeting a boy in high school where they became best friends, which is why she tends to be empathetic.
Later, I decided that the mind reading was too distracting and unnecessary. As an emotional teenager, she had enough anxiety and depressive symptoms without adding the burden of reading everyone's thoughts.

Her Canon Story, I call Imaginary Friend, because it involves her little dragon friend that is small enough to fit on her shoulder. Since he is an imaginary friend, no one else can seem him. I haven't figured it all out. She's a princess of the kingdom, and everyone loves her, but she hides dark secrets behind her smile.*

Third AU, she is a princess, and she is best friends with a noble's son who falls out of favor and becomes her guard. Of course now, there is no chance to marry, but she decides to take a big leap and run away with him. The end was inspired by Brave, because there is a lot of bear symbolism and consequences for using magic to solve their problems. (This AU has not gotten past the noble's son falling out of favor)

*Kailey has a darker backstory/Canon Story than I ever show in roleplays. I'm afraid I wouldn't portray her struggles well, and I don't want to have to look more closely at the rules to make sure it falls within the rules. Vixen has grown sullen as her darling older sister and younger sisters have always gotten the attention for being pretty and charming. Maybe, she should have come out of her corner more often during social events. Maybe, she should have tried being actually nice or acknowledging that other people existed first, but she preferred to sulk in the corner or amuse herself with a book or drawing in her notebook. She is resentful that her parents leave her to do her thing. Her mother has carefully groomed her sisters to get married and be helpful managers and ears for their husbands.

Frankly, thus far, Vixen has found the human race to be tiring and vexing. She would prefer not to deal with them and has not found anyone she particularly wants to spend time around. She hates being disturbed during designated alone time, which is basically all of the time, and it is no wonder her parents finally began to leave her alone. Especially, because she is resentful of authority, especially her parents. (She particularly does not like the idea of an arranged marriage. She knows that her father would marry her off to someone who would increase his own influence, wealth, and power.) If anyone can't tell already and it needs to be stated in express words, Vixen is very selfish and thinks a lot of herself. She is very dedicated and disciplined for her needs but there are very few people she would lift a finger for and mainly because they would compel her or helping them would help her such as them owing her a favor in the future.

She does try to feign humbleness to some extent. At least she's not telling everyone that she is really tough or really smart, but she does go around bulling people over while she demonstrates her accomplishments. (She had one servant stand still with an apple on her head, while she tried to shoot it off with her bow and arrow. Luckily, her brother, Gilbert saw it and intervened.) She has been known to gossip about what she observes in the court showing off her observation and interpretation skills, which led to the Syndicate's interest in her and her father finally paying attention to her at dinner, which she decided she didn't like. She stopped gossiping after that between the unwanted attention and the Syndicate's orders.

She has not grown out of correcting people when they are imprecise or their information is wrong even when she was not a part of the conversation. She is not a wishy washy person, and acts when she is certain that it is the right thing to do. She also has earned her reputation for being smart and educated (albeit astonishingly annoying) because of her constant reading and correcting others and always being right. She has been called a know-it-all more than once.

She has had training in ettiquette of course, and after she was recruited by the Syndicate, she started to pay attention on how people interacted and charmed each other. She does not like being nice and would prefer to say or do what comes to mind, but she does know how to be nice enough to get what she wants. She is not the most patient person, but she can keep it under control long enough to finish a goal.

She is secretive and does not trust others easily. She does not talk about her feelings and she rather avoids sentimental attachments. Several older matronly women have been known to ask if there was something wrong with her because she didn't gossip and giggle about the more eligible handsome bachelor lords at parties. She gives out the least information she can and does not continue to answer a question further than the necessary answer unless she is trying to appear amiable.

She is capable of geeking out about mathematics, admiring a well made outfit, debating the best way to feed an army, and even discuss the most effecient way to hang someone. (Interviewing their executioner was quite an enlightening experience. Apparently, he keeps a logbook of the measurements of the criminals he executes and has it down to a science.) She is a person of various useful interests, which she choses by what would be useful and what she is capable of learning to the point of competency.

Appearance

Vixen grew up used to sitting in the corner with a face full of acne at important social events. She had trouble controlling her acne and it left scars on her cheeks and forehead that looked pockmarked. Her skin was pale and made acne and scars stand out. They have faded some as she's grown older and she can normally easily hide it with her hair. She often had a book or a notebook near her, and she gave up on socializing after being told repeatedly that she needed to do something to be pretty or that it would take too much effort to make her look nice. She did note that it was important to store information about others because it gives leverage and power over them from her own very political parents.

She was a plain child and for her not tall height was stringy and lanky in build without any discernable figure. She still views herself as unattractive and plain, but growing up further has given her some noticeable curves although she still has a long thin build. Her posture had been terrible and it was obvious that she was trying to make herself small and unnoticeable. However, with a lot of her sitting studying, drawing, and reading activities, she has found that she needs to sit up straight and not crane her neck downwards for too long or she will start cramping. With the training of the Syndicate, she has started to be more confident and more intentional with her body language, and she has become more relaxed and able to stand up straight with good posture without having to think about it. She is not clumsy and can walk with grace. She likes to practice sneaking around the castle whether in broad daylight or at night. However, because she is allowed to be anywhere in the castle she rarely gets odd looks so its hard for her to be able to tell how successful she is.

She has an oval face shape and the profile of her face curves outward slightly. Her face cheeks have thinned from childhood and lost their baby fat. She has a sprinkling of freckles across her nose and cheeks. She has a wide mouth but thin lips. Her eyes are slightly set into her face and are clearly green. Her nose is thin and slightly prominent. She has dimples in the corners of her mouth when she smiles. Her lips are full but her mouth is not very wide. She has waist-length dark auburn hair, which she used to hide behind. She still has fair skin and it scars and burns easily. She has short slender fingers and her hands have large palms in proportion.

Strengths:

Court Skills - After seven years of Syndicate training, she has become very observant and much more subtle. She has become better at discerning what information is important and what gossip and tidbits are accurate. She has very good hearing and reasonably keen eyesight. (She wouldn't need glasses if she were modern.) Due to her parents, life at court, and Syndicate training, she has learned how to control her body language, acting/manipulation for real-life scenarios

Practical - She does very few things for pleasure and does most things for a purpose. She tries to learn things that will be relevant and useful. She is quite educated and with her position has access to the finest education women receive.

Disciplined - Her constant search for useful information has led her to be dedicated even for some physical activity so that she can try some things that require a modicum of strength.

Weaknesses:

Unable to physically protect herself - She has not been trained to fight, and if she were to ask her father if she could be trained to fight it would raise eyebrows. It is common for noble women to do archery, so she has settled for that. She's no Robin Hood, but she doesn't miss the bales anymore.

Lacking purpose and affection - Her parents have been busy with other things. She never got on particularly well with any of her siblings (her own fault, though she would never admit it or see it). She wants to be of use or important to an organization, cause, or number one in a person's life.

Pride - She is arrogant and is used to being right and thinks she knows best. She has a hard time submitting to authority or letting someone else's error pass by without a remark.

Selfishness - it makes her hard to work with and goes along with pride. She doesn't care to work with anyone else unless it clearly benefits her. She normally has no desire to be kind.

Her birth name is Angel Jane Howard a daughter of a powerful noble. She was recruited around the age of 14 years old to the Syndicate. She was young and they did not trust her beyond giving them information and gossip about the court. When she became an acolyte she chose the name Vixen Nightshade believing her old name to be boring, plain, and goody-two-shoes and wanting to step into her new identity within the mysterious, daring, and dangerous Syndicate. She was given special permission to retain her position and continue to act normally because her position is what makes her useful to the Syndicate.

The Syndicate generally keeps her far away from their base of operations, and she has no idea how many of them there are. Normally, "her handler" will drop by for fairly regular reports. There was one time period where she went longer than usual without contact from the Syndicate. She doesn't know what happened to the man who recruited her, but Draven is now the main source of contact. She has met the leader before and some others but she doesn't know if they are still around.

He is tall and skinny. He has a rectangular build. He is one straight lean stick with no curves. He tends to stand rather straight. His hair is a very light blond and medium thickness. He keeps his hair short on the sides, and longer on the top. It is pretty straight and flat without any body, and often flops limply. He never does anything with it, because he doesn't care about his appearance. He has a thin angular face. His face is a diamond shape, and high prominent cheek bones. He has a light sprinkle of freckles over his nose and cheeks.

He has light skin, which often reddens and burns in the sunlight. He has a high thin bridge with a bit of an aquiline appearance, and his nose is on the small side. His eyebrows are oblong and medium. Since they are a light color, they do not stand out well from the rest of his face. Above his brows his forehead is beginning to collect wrinkles from frowning and worrying. His face profile is pretty flat and straight, but it curves outward slightly. His eyes are placed in a moderate place and not bulging out of his head or set in deeply. They are a light gray blue color.

His face tends to be grim, and shows off disgust or annoyance the best. Alongside his mouth are the beginnings of lines, which are supposed to be smile lines. His mouth his medium, but his lips are thin. He has long spidery fingers. He keeps his fingernails short and clean. His ears are medium in size, but they slightly stick out. He has long skinny bony feet. He has a long leg to torso ratio, and his arms dangle by his sides. He is used to keeping clean. He has a medium to not much hair on his legs and arms. Since they are light blond, they are hard to see, and not very apparent.

Personality

He has a very solemn, severe, harsh demeanor. He uses it to hide his emotions under a very very very deep covering. As a logical person, emotions have no place, and they mess logic up. It confuses him, when he thinks one way, but his emotions tell him to do another. He seems to be calm, because he normally maintains a very quiet and still posture. However, his temper bursts forth, and is quite violent comparing to other people. He can go from tranquil to almost tearing people's heads off. He is quite intelligent, and he has the ability to be acerbic. He is very out of place in a group setting. He can begin to feel overwhelmed.

He often settles in to become quiet and harshly judges everyone who comes by. He doesn't think that he's a very nice person, so he's suspicious of anyone who is nice to him. He expects that everyone is trying to make him look bad, and he hates being humiliated. He doesn't like to be nice to others, so he doesn't understand why someone would want to be nice, especially to him. He almost never tries to get involved unless someone makes him, or he is desperately bored.

As a healer, everyone else must come first. Sometimes he is a little resentful, because he wonders what would happen, if something happened to him, but most of the time, he doesn't argue with the way it works. He realizes that not everyone is thinking about him. He is intelligent, even if he is a slow methodical thinker, and not the fastest on his toes. He doesn't care about what others think, including most loved ones, as long as it doesn't restrict where he is allowed to be. He understands societies defintion of justice, but unless something unjust happens to him, he doesn't care about enforcing it.

If you gain his respect, you gain his loyalty. He's not afraid to be challenging, and he's in the habit of being argumentative. He prefers to be by himself, so he doesn't have to deal with everyone's stupidity, and he doesn't have to pretend to be a nice or polite. Normally, he keeps his thoughts and opinions to himself, but they can be unleashed, if he is given any opening, or loses any control. He holds nothing back until he gets a grip on himself. It's normally all or nothing.

Belseleth is only impulsive, when he has an unusual excess of emotions. It makes him become unpredictable. This is one of the reasons he keeps his emotions tampered down. When he's not explosive, he's good at planning. Howl likes predictabilty, and knowing what's going to happen. He isn't good at analzying motives, because he would have to understand emotion. Emotion confuses him, and he doesn't know how to deal with it, or understand it.

Emotions give information away about himself, and he doesn't like that. Emotions also cause him to mess up on the field. It causes him to get nervous, if he has lost one person, and he moves on to someone else who needs him. He wants to maintain information which gives power to himself. Howl prefers to be passive, and let things pass by without acting. He doesn't understand why he would want to get involved in something that is not his problem. However, his work demands action, and he doesn't want to waste his skill, even though he often uses his position to experiment. He avoids asking for help, because he prefers to be independent, and he doesn't trust others. Howl is more curious than he appears, but he tries not to give any hint. Howl is very persistent, and once you get him to commit, it's easy. It is hard to pin him down, because he often doesn't think people are worth his time.

Likes

Belseleth wouldn't mind being a hermit. He thrives on being alone, and recharges. When he is alone he doesn't have to struggle with violent extremes of emotion. He does very well in the cold, and needs cold to survive. He has a strong mind, and he is good at thinking. He prefers to be logical. He doesn't like being out of control, and one of the best ways to combat that is to be prepared. He tries to be observant, so he can make conclusions, and plan ahead. He likes to study everyone in an attempt to understand them. He doesn't allow others to push him around, nor do his feelings get hurt easily. He likes his mind to be sharp crisp and clear. Only coldness can do that. He enjoys looking around at nature, and appreciating it, since he doesn't like people. He has really strong concentration, and he accidentally blocks everyone else out.

Dislikes

He is afraid that others will be able to control him. He appreciates independence. He knows that knowledge gives others power over him. He doesn't grasp emotions very well. They are confusing things outside of logic. He finds the bond with his rider frightening, and not comforting since he prerfers to stand alone. They are some random entity who can intrude into his personal feelings and thoughts, whenever they wish. He can tell that they aren't completely dependable, even if they are the other half of him. His emotions can explode unexpectedly. He puts a lot of stress on himself, and he hates failure. He is the one who gives the most goals for himself, and he is the harshest judge.

Being sick causes Belseleth to act like a bratty baby. He loses a lot of self control, and he complains loudly, whines, and makes a general nuissance of himself.

He is known to awkwardly stare, as he tries to figure out what the person is like. When he gets in the zone, he doesn't treat others like people beings, and he treats them more like unstable experiments.

Howl has excellent control over his emotions, as it is a matter of life or death, when he is healing someone or on the battle field. However, emotions are really hard to control, so the harder they are pushed away, the more violent they are, when they finally pop out.

Team work

He's observant, but he often interprets what he sees wrong, or he doesn't understand at all.

Backstory

During a raid, when he was a baby, he was taken from his homeland. His new home was a dry hot desert where he learned how to survive. A healer took him under their wing and raised them, and eventually encouraged him to join the army and help keep soldiers alive. They began a war with a kingdom that had lots of fertile land with access to water. This odd kingdom was called Sythlus. It is very religious and many religions coexist there. However, one of the more popular religions believes that only gods are allowed to see the inside of someone's body and to change their fate. Thus, only priest can be surgeons and healers have to be careful about what treatments they give. Belseleth gets captured again. He has learned how to do trauma care in war, and he won't leave someone to die, but his methods go against his captor's beliefs.

He has an aura about him that causes men to want to follow him and believe that he will win whatever fight he has set his mind to. It could be because of his height, his girth, or the way he confidently carries himself, never not making eye contact and never backing down once he makes a stand. He stands over most men at 6' 4," and he has a powerful endomorphic thick-set build. His girth is not invisible, because he is thick and dense with muscle. He also retains more fat than other builds. He has a rounder softer torso, not a chiseled muscular build. He has shorter arms and a longer torso. He has large meaty hands and wide feet. His legs are as big around as small tree trunks.

He has shaggy dark brown hair that is kind of wavy but short. It brushes the top of his brow in a jagged messy line. It is still long enough to tickle the back of his neck and ears. On casual formal occassions he wears a simple circlet set on his head. He has a heavy iron crown to wear to make a point, and a rich golden alloy crown with jewels for the most special of occassions such as his coronation. He has a more rectangular/square face. His forehead is beginning to form wrinkle lines. His jaw line is covered in a full beard softening the edge. The beard is full, and roughly cut short. He has deep set green grey eyes with some golden flecks that sometimes make his eyes look hazel. He has wide bushy brows above his eyes. He has a low nose bridge, but a bulbous end to his nose. He has lighter skin that has a weathered tan from all of the campaigns he has carried out.

He prefers to wear more plain practical clothing. It rarely has embelleshments such as embroidery, and it is made out of more common durable material such as cotton, linen, or wool instead of silk or brocade. If it weren't for his reputation more people would have a tendency to mistake him for a general instead of the king. From the way he carries himself and treats others, he is clearly used to leading. He does have more extravagant clothing for important events and meeting dignitaries from foreign kingdoms, but he rarely deigns to pull them out, preferring to save his money for other things. He generally wears, blues, greys, greens, browns, and blacks. A few of his outfits are red, and if his clothing has an accent color it is often gold. He may have one outfit that is purple.

Personality

He is a soldier-king well known for his skill in battle and ruthlessness to enemies and traitors. He has been known to wipe out whole houses that have stood against him. Generally, executions are quick unless it is for a traitor, then all bets are off. He values loyalty and trust. If he can find someone who will be loyal to him through any of his ups and downs, then he is very forgiving of their inability to carry out his commands perfectly. He does not take betrayal lightly. It would be better to have been his outright enemy, and he is not kind to his enemies.

He is known to be extremely stubborn, and he prefers to take the most direct route. He has a reputation for a short temper, and being a direct communicator. He is known to be a blunt force who batters others into submission instead of manipulating or gently influencing someone to get his way. He acts with bullheaded confidence as that generally serves to get him his way. Many who serve him do not see the subtle ways he gets people to do his bidding underneath his fearsome surface. One aspect of him that may surprise people is his ability to sweet talk someone into doing something. He also has many loyal to him serving him who help him manipulate people into states of minds that are more agreeable to him. It is not unusual for him to yell in anger or throw an object that will shatter. He loves to smash a glass to demonstrate his approval. He has large emotions and he displays them conspicuously.

He can be spiteful if he is told no or it is impossible, and he will spend years planning on how to make it happen such as a certain tribal people refusing to be conquered. He enjoys watching people and learning more about them from a distance without them learning the same amount of information about him. He keeps track of a lot of people's habits, so that he will be aware if he should be concerned if someone's habits change.
