Name: Selene Yvonne Proctor
Appearance: Selene is a lithe, petite little thing that looks like a moonbeam with fair skin and light blond hair. She has high cheekbones, dark green almond-shaped eyes, and dark eyebrows for someone who is so pale. Her bright blonde hair is a platinum shade that Marilyn Monroe would envy, but it's cropped close to her head with long straight bangs that are swept across her forehead.
Unlike her sister Selena, Selene has a beauty mark on her left cheek.
Selena is the one with the fashion sense, and she gave her sister the daring short haircut after she watched Roman Holiday. In fact, Selene is often a little doll for Selena to dress up. Selene has a minimalist chic look, preferring pencil skirts, Capri pants, low kitten heels, and simple flats. Selene also prefers boatneck shirts or blouses without buttons in the front. She'll wear a watch, but only if it has a soft leather strap. Despite not liking most jewelry, she does like wearing her mom's two sets of pearl earrings—a stud pair and a dangling pair.
Selena has all the same features, but she has her long platinum blond hair in perfect Hollywood pin curls. She's very much into fluffier skirts, jewelry, and pretty heels. Her favorite accessories are her mom's pearl bracelet and her wedding rings.
Personality: Selene is the quiet version of her sister. She's cordial and reserved, but she has quite a silver tongue. She's one of those silent ones that know much more than you think. She puts up a stone-faced front at times, but she's actually quite a softy and protective.
Selene is artistic in her own way, mostly in music and composing melodies that match the feeling of another person or spirit. Her sister Selena is a talented visual artist and painter.
Likes: Gardening, good pressings of vinyl records (especially of cello and piano music), radio dramas, cats, spicy food, tea, spending the afternoon with her sister, books in Braille (even though there aren't enough out there), having people trail their fingertips down her arms or running their fingers through her hair
Dislikes: Dry soil, splitting hairs on her cello bows, ableist behavior from others, vivid nightmares, taking naps, wearing jewelry, overly fluffy petticoats, strong cologne or perfume
Weaknesses: Loud sounds at high frequencies will disorient Selene, and her circadian rhythm is off so she may not always be sleepy when it's time for bed.
History: Selene and her twin sister Selena were born on a full moon to their mother Mary and father John. Their mother Mary was the member of a coven in Los Angeles and their father was a non-magic folk, but he valued the coven's abilities despite his lack of magical ability.
When Selene and Selena were ten, their mother died of an unknown disease that may have been caused by a curse. Their father, grandmother, and other members of the coven quickly packed up after she was buried to a town in New England, not giving the girls not much time to grieve before they had to leave their home. A year later, Selene was rapidly going blind by glaucoma that had no discernible cause. By then, their father was still grieving his wife while trying to cope with the irreversible blindness of one of his daughters. He managed the best he could, but it was the coven that stepped in in a lot of ways, especially in helping Selene use her magic abilities to her advantage.
Selene and Selena were always very close, especially when Selene became blind. The twins were both naturally protective of one another, and so Selena helped Selene in some ways while Selene helped her in others.
Their grandmother died when they turned 17 and then their father died when they turned 22. A townhouse was left to both of them, so they sold their father and grandmother's home to move into the townhouse full-time. Soon after however, Selena met a respectable young warlock named Roosevelt. Selena accidentally saw a snippet of their far off future together and Selene picked up good vibes from him, so Selena felt okay to pursue a relationship with him. Roosevelt was absolutely taken by Selena, and the two were married within a year.
Selene now lives in her house on her own, offering piano music lessons in her living room to children in the town. She spends time with Selena every other afternoon, and she goes to dinner at Selena and Roosevelt's house every Sunday.
Abilities: Selene is more empathic in the moment, feeling the intentions of others and the physical of her surroundings. She reads a lot into what people say and what they mean when they say it. She's also very skilled in her own charms, spells, and rituals, being able to draw out information that she wants.
Selena is somewhat the opposite. Unlike her sister, she's only able to see what has passed and what will become, like with past lives and divination. Selena is good with tea leaf reading and drawing charts with the stars.
Other things:
-Selene smells like rosewood and thyme with the sliiiightest hint of jasmine.
-She has a cat named Martin, who was once the cat of the neighbor that has passed away
-Selene is especially tidy, and she has a Braille label on almost anything.
-Selene plays the piano and cello
