Heya all! I'm out looking for some new RP partners, have a read below and shoot me a message if any of this strikes your fancy!

About me
I'm a marine bio student in the UK, as well as marine mammal medic, trained SCUBA diver and kickboxer, and have been roleplaying since 2015.
  • I usually write anywhere from 150 to 500 words.
  • I write in the third person, past tense.
  • I'm in GMT+0 (GMT+1 in summer time).
  • I usually respond every 1-3 days. Sometimes I get busy with uni, or forget—if I haven't mentioned I'll be busy and unable to respond please don't feel bad about getting in contact with me me to remind me! I'm ADHD and forgetful, so please don't assume I've lost interest!
  • I don't do NSFW/sexual content. Anything like that will be a fade-to-black for me. Romance stuff is totally fine, though.

What I'm looking for
  • Someone who can write a minimum of 100 ish words. I'm not too strict on this, though, especially when we're roleplaying quick-fire conversation.
  • More importantly than post length, I'd love good quality writing. Nothing against things like chatrp or one liner RP, I just personally prefer full prose, with some detail in it.
  • Someone who replies at a similar speed to me. I don't do quickfire, but I do get excited for a post after I've made one, so do like to get one back at least once a week.
  • Ideally, a friend! I'm into all sorts; DnD, anything marine-related, witchy and spiritual stuff, kickboxing or other combat sports, cosplay, theatre and probably lots more I've forgotten.

Plots
★☆☆ I will do this plot, but it's not at the top of my list right now and I might not accept offers unless they're super compelling.
★★☆ I actively want to do this plot.
★★★ I REALLY want to do this plot and have plenty of ideas!
Falcombe ★★★
Modern fantasy | Dark fantasy | Celtic mythology | Retro vibe | Witch x Witch hunter
Hook
In the Celtic town of Falcombe, not everything is as it seems. To the humans, anyway. Among them in their sleepy rural tourist town live the supernaturals; witches, merfolk, fae, and many more. Since the witch trials, supernaturals have managed to slip under the radar, convincing humans that witches aren't real and werewolves roaming the hills were just old wives tales. Falcombe began as a supernatural village. A safe haven for them. As humans began to move there, once again, they became hidden among the populace. However, as humans began to realise just who, or what, was hiding amongst them, hunts began. Witches burned at the stake, beastbloods hunted, merfolk ensnared in nets. Having returned to their relative peace since the trials, the supernaturals would do anything to keep their secrets. How long can they manage it?

Characters
Meet Ferne Keeling, proprietor of Silverwood Arcana, Falcombe's own metaphysical shop. She's also a witch. The daughter of the local coven's High Priestess, to be exact. With big boots to fill as she learns her craft and begins to take on more responsibility as a young adult, she's juggling a lot—running her shop, learning to lead a coven, trying to navigate adulthood.

Who will you play? I'd love to do an MxF witch hunter x witch romance between Ferne and your character. Her type is usually the golden retriever type guy, but first and foremost I'd love for him to be from a family descended from supernatural hunters from the time of the witch trials. His family begin to rediscover their ancestors' knowledge, and begin to realise it might actually be real as things start to get weird in Falcombe. Your character becomes involved as his family convinces him that supernaturals are not only real, but to be feared and dealt with, and at some point discovers that the woman he's interested in, or maybe even already dating, is a witch. How does he react when what he's been taught about supernaturals is challenged? Which side does he choose?

You are also welcome to play multiple characters! I likely will be, using Ferne and Ketania as main characters with an emphasis on Ferne, and Kenna as a sort of side character. You can find all three in my characters thread—check out my signature for the link!

Setting info
This setting will involve dark themes. No sexual content, but expect violence and potential gore or body horror (though nothing quite mortal kombat level), bad language, themes of oppression, themes of religious persecution. Witch hunters very famously burned their victims at the stake and drowned them in rivers, after all.

While modern technology will exist and this is set in the present day, it'll have a bit of a retro vibe, about 70s/80s. Small rural Celtic town, everyone knows each other, the high street is thriving with plenty of quaint little shops, a bit like shows like Sex Education where they're set in modern day but the cars, the colours etc. all seem a bit anachronistic. You'd find local green grocers, butchers and sweet shops instead of supermarkets, for example.

Info regarding the supernatural races, magic, etc. can be found in this world info post!

High Fantasy Pirate Adventure ★
Medieval fantasy | High fantasy | Pirates | Platonic, romance if FxF
Hook
It's a bold move, commandeering a ship. Much more so with the wanted posters plastered all over the port town you find yourself in, after the run-in with a royal ship you only narrowly escaped. With only a husk of a ship left, you and your crew need something new, and fast. As it turns out the perfect vessel sits bobbing in the harbour as a crew unloads its cargo. As you stage a takeover, the expected shouts from the guards reach your ears, crying out for you to stop, woman- woman?

You glance over. Just as your crew unfurl the sails and raise the anchor, the wind filling the ship with life and the sails with air, a figure leaps from the pier, hurtling through the air, and lands with a thud on the wooden deck. A woman. She's only just made the jump. She's also nude. Clutching a gnarled driftwood staff and a bundled-up grey animal skin, she stands. In response to your puzzlement, she speaks. "You are pirates, seekers of treasures? I too seek a treasure. Perhaps we can help each other."

Characters
Tehi stands out in a crowd, both physically and in regard to her demeanour. Tall, with long dark grey hair and patches of grey mottling her skin, she is a strange sight for almost everyone. The seal pelt she often wears as a cloak or cape doesn't help her blend in either. A selkie from a reclusive tribe, she seeks a lost relic of her people, and in return, brings with her a great knowledge of the sea, the winds, the tides, and magic. While she has not mastered her abilities by any means, she clearly holds great potential. Moreover, she could prove to be a highly useful asset to a down-on-their-luck pirate captain, with her powers able to fill sails, turn tides, and heal the injured and the sick. This naive yet powerful druid wants something and you may just be uniquely qualified to help. For a price, of course.

Who are you? A pirate captain of some sort, preferably not the most infamous captain on the seas, but rather one who could do with a bit of magic and wisdom to aid them. Any gender is fine, though I would love to play against a capable, strong female captain character. As Tehi is a lesbian, there's also the potential for romance if they gel together. Perhaps someone who underestimates Tehi for a while, and makes this clear, but as she hones her powers and begins to show the true force she is capable of, they begin to see that she isn't simply a pretty face and a pelt to steal.

Setting info
This setting will involve dark or adult themes. No sex/star content, but expect violence and potential gore (though nothing quite mortal kombat level), bad language, and non-sexual nudity—google some selkie myths. They're not fans of clothes, it seems.

I have a loose setting we could use, however I'm open to developing one with you if you'd like to worldbuild!

As the roar of the Alliance army's cheers and cries filled the air, Erysa watched Safrym preen herself for a moment, and did not have to be bonded with her to know that despite the chaos around them, she was loving the attention and the good reception of her little speech. Though she wasn't quite a year old yet, and couldn't compare in size to some of the far older dragons, that did little to dampen the spirits of those closest to her in the ranks. Having a dragon close enough to touch gave them hope. The soldiers gave Safrym a wide berth, but some of those around her gazed at her as if she were a deity of war come to bless them. Perhaps she was.

Erysa turned back to her work. Her palm held over another soldier's badly broken leg—she'd opened her mind to him to better find the worst injury and he appeared to have been trampled in the rush to avoid the incoming fire—she muttered the words for the spell and felt for the ends of the bone she was to knit back together. Soon enough, a crack sounded, and the soldier gripped her shoulder with a strength that would've made her cry out before she became a Rider as he screamed. Before long though, his grip eased. "I'm sorry, I can't tend the rest of your wounds, I must save my energy for wards, but I hope I've eased your pain." She gave the man a smile, and he returned it in kind as she helped him to his feet and helped him take his first few shaky steps towards the back lines to have his wounds treated.

After spending a few moments making sure he could walk far enough, she turned and jogged back to Safrym's side through the army ranks, the green dragon watching her out of one teal eye.

"Come, we must go." Safrym's voice echoed in her mind with an assertiveness Erysa knew to be impatience to get among the fray. She offered her a foreleg to climb up on out of routine.

Erysa hoisted herself up onto her dragon's side and then into the saddle. Below her, some of the soldiers looked on in awe. She hadn't been around those unfamiliar with dragons for over half a year now, and the astonishment in their eyes as she so easily threw herself into the saddle made her a tad uncomfortable. They'd probably all trained for far longer than her. It seemed so strange and foreign to be one they looked up to. "I hope they'll be alright."

"They're soldiers. You cannot save them all."

"Are they not worth the effort to try? They are people just as you and I, and we have the strength to hold them up and the ability to return them to good health. Many of them will be fathers."
She quipped back, bristling a little.

Safrym didn't respond, but Erysa felt the pulses of emotions as her dragon contemplated what she'd said. She wasn't sure if a dragon would fully understand her point of view—while they were a great match for one another, human and dragon were still different in their perspectives often enough—but as she sensed dismissal and a pragmatic rationality she assumed was Safrym's more logical way of thinking and the notion they truly couldn't save everyone, she also picked out a hearty few waves of empathy. To drive her point home, Erysa shared what the soldier had felt through their bond, and heard a deep rumble from within Safrym's chest.

"You've made your point. Strap in, our help is needed more elsewhere." Safrym tensed under her, a cat ready to pounce and a bird of prey preparing for flight all at once. Erysa slipped her legs into the leather straps on either side and buckled them tight around her thighs and calves.

"Let's fly."

And the pair were away. Safrym leapt up into the air, gaining as much height as possible to avoid smacking any stray soldiers as she brought her wings down. She ignored their surprised cries as she ascended from amongst them. Now to pick their target.

Not many customers passed by on Monday mornings, most off to work after the weekend, but that didn't mean Ferne herself wasn't busy. She spent most of the quiet morning stocking shelves, after the large delivery which arrived as she opened up, organising books on the shelves and various incenses and candles to their own spots. As the monotonous noise of the price sticker gun began to get to her, she took a moment to put a playlist on through her little speaker sat on the shop's counter.

Finally, after an hour, almost all the boxes lay empty and squished flat behind the till. The last few sat beside her as she knelt on the floor sorting their contents onto some of the lower display shelves of one of the large wooden units. Her stomach rumbled. Ah, right. Her breakfast panini sat on the counter, uneaten. She sighed. Maybe she'd need to leave Faun to keep an eye on the shop to head back upstairs to her flat and reheat it in the microwave.

Wonderful plot ideas, Falcombe sounds like a great idea for a novel, i imagine something like Fable but with celtic mythology instead of fairy tales.

Anyways, i'd love to rp this with you, i'm interested in Falcombe primarily but if you'd rather play the pirate plot, i'd be interested as well.

I had a cool idea for the male lead character where he actually has some witch blood in him. One of his ancestors would have had a witch wife and some of the magic still flows through his blood, however his family and clan were murdered by an evil coven of witches and so he has a hatred for witchking and became a hunter, so perhaps Ferne will have to change his viewpoint and show him not all witches are evil.

If you'd like to rp let me know, thanks.

Hey! Thanks for your interest, its good to see there's so much activity here and I can get responses to ads quickly here :) in terms of that plot, I'm more looking for someone to play a full human, and there's less "some witches are groups of evildoers" and a more "these people are all just normal people, maligned by 'regular' society" sort of thing.
