Caine is extremely withdrawn, yet still enjoys seldom social interaction. Many would consider him to be 'cold' or 'uncaring', but he is not the type to publicly wear his heart on his sleeve. In group settings (where he is not bonded with anyone), he is argumentative and somewhat impulsive. Superficially, he seems burdened by stress, unwilling to relax, delegate or accept help from others. He is a devoted soldier and protector -- often the first to run into danger to stave off threats. Due to his training as commander of his battalion, he is remarkably unshakable. If one were lucky enough to get to know Caine, they would find that his devotion runs deeper into the people he loves. He's somewhat possessive behind closed doors, yet still biting in person. One could forever assume that Caine dislikes them, never fully realizing the depths at which his undying love ran.
With some lovers, he is flamboyantly romantic. However, he prefers isolated moments together: listening to his storms rage overhead, watching snow collect in windows, enjoying firelight and its warmth soothing battle-worn muscles. Some conquests receive a different side of Caine. The overtly flirtatious, imbibing and sarcastic soldier sometimes likes to seek solace with various people he meets through his journeys. These people, though infrequent, are met with acidic humor and playful aggression.

When young, prior to his devotion to his deity, Caine displayed pale, unmarred skin and notably innocent features. Originally, his eyes were a lively, warm brown. His hair was shoulder-length and inky, worn in an unkempt knot often during combat. He was lithe, and not necessarily heavily built. His smile is beaming and wrinkles deep up to his eyes, exposing dimples and slight crow's feet. Once Caine devoted himself to Talos, the soldier's features were forever weathered. Once kind, brown eyes were now a piercing, unnatural duo. One remained untouched, a reminder of his past, yet the other changed into a piercing, unnatural gold. When under Talos' will, the gold eye glows strikingly -- painfully. Scars adorn his face now, one over his lips and another on the brow above his affected eye. Caine, being insecure in his new position, chooses to constantly paint the top half of his face (hairline to nose bridge) in a deep black soot. This marking acts as pseudo-camouflage, altering anyone's ability to see his most human features. His hair is longer now, mostly worn undone and down his back. Caine, still being a devoted soldier, wears dark leather armor over navy underclothes. In colder weather, the cleric wears gloves and a large, counseling black cloak. He does bear Talos' symbol, hidden on a belt at his waist.
