in faerie lore, there are 4 courts. one court for each season and each court is in like... eternal stagnation of that season. e.g. summer court always has summer, winter court always has winter etc.
also, the faeries vary in personality too according to their courts. summer court faeries are the nicest of faeries (which doesn't say much bc faeries are cunning lil bitches ), followed by spring, followed by autumn, then winter. each court has a high fae, that is the ruler.

now, let me go through what faeries are:
- they're believed to have the beauty of angels but the malice of demons
- they mostly resemble human beings, some have extraordinary features such as wings, horns, oddly colored-eyes or skin
- possess the unnatural abilities of swiftness, grace, and heightened senses of smell and hearing
- you're not supposed to tell your real name to a faerie, because then they can control you completely.
- faeries CANNOT touch iron. they WILL be hurt and if it goes on too long they WILL die. salt and holy water weakens them too. silver, lemon and lime too.
- faeries can never lie but that means they're experts at twisting the truth, telling half-truths etc. they're manipulative tricksters who know how to betray very well, without telling a lie.
- all faeries have the magic of glamours. glamours let them hide, change their appearances, disguise objects as other objects, create illusions out of thin air, etc.
- (this can be changed FOR SURE if we want) faeries' blood is really strong so if they have a child with another race the child WILL be a fae. no half-half, FULL fae.
- they're functionally immortal
- the High Fae is determined by bloodline OR if someone physically defeats the high fae they can take over too (this is especially true in 'darker' courts like the winter court)
- Faes in general are super unwelcoming to outsiders (but summer and spring court fairies are "fake nice" so they might even welcome outsiders just to toy with them)
- OH FAES HAVE REALLY SPECIAL BLOOD TOO THATS ACTUALLY COINCIDENTALLY LINKED TO VAMPIRES (THESE CAN BE CHANGED DONT WORRY):
- Intoxication: any vampire that drinks faerie's blood becomes intoxicated with it, going into a state humans would describe as "drunk". the amount of drunkness displayed by a vampire depends on the amount of fairy blood the vampire drank.
- Attraction: faerie blood smells very appealing to supernaturals, especially vampire. it increases the faerie's physical appeal to vampires.
- Sunlight: depending on the amount of blood drank, vampires grow immune to their weakness to sunlight after drinking faerie blood. the effects last shortly though!
- healing, telepathy, shapeshifting, etc. normal powers like these that all faeries have, some a greater extent.
