This world is filled with darkness and things that go bump in the night. Unknown to humans there are many things that inhabit this world. Fay, Vampires, Werewolves, Mages, Hunters, and Even Demons can exist here. The only universal rule that all these creatures who mostly despise one another have in common is that humans cannot know of their existence. Other than this the world is very much the same world we live in today. The most notable of these rule breakers used to be the demons however this stopped when the church and true believers started dealing with them. There are stories of werewolves and vampires and ghosts and more but most of these stories are created by the creatures themselves to provide false information and keep it as fictional as possible in the human's minds.
This story takes place in Colorado and the surrounding areas.
PACK!
Marock - Leader of all packs across the United States.
Alpha - Leader of a pack.
2nd - Takes place of Alpha and is second in command.
3rd - etc. self-explanatory, what's important after this is position. They would not tell the 2nd what to do but would tell everyone under them what to do.

OMEGA - An Omega, is the lowest in the pack but typically has a calming ability. They are so weak that they cause others to actively want to protect them. Additionally, they have such a calming effect on others that they can calm down wolves who are about to snap. They are typically used for new wolves to help keep them calm, and wolves who are losing control.
Women - Some packs accept women as equals. Most packs are not so open-minded and women are treated as breeding stock and protected. (This could be a reason why your character jumped packs.)
Note (The Marock controls all packs, his dominance can bring the strongest wolf to their knees and he typically has sheriffs to enforce his will. (Abusing females, forcefully turning wolves) would invoke a very dangerous sheriff to come to deal out punishment and change the pack dynamics.
Nomads - Wolves that are packless slowly tend to go a bit insane (Or wild) They start losing control of their humanity. Often they are hunted down and captured or forced into a pack. Because they are dangerous. More animal than human and they tend to turn others by wild attacks.
Wolves - In general, Werewolves consider their wolf part of them but also not part of them. Some will refer to it as their wolf. Think of it almost like a split personality. Both sides communicate with one another but also have some independence. The reason this is important at all is because of nomads. They allow their wolf to take more control than their human side. So they behave more animal-like and spend more time in animal form. Wolves are aggressive typically, territorial, etc. They don't like being told what to do by weaker things including weaker wolves. It's pretty basic but you should get the idea.
Werewolf Forms - There are two forms, though only the strongest or those closest to their wolf can take on both forms
War Form - Basically your typical half-man half-wolf, your general photos, etc of werewolves. (Not everyone can take this form. It requires a closeness to their wolf and strength because one or the other is in control.)
Wolf Form - Put simply this is a wolf form only much bigger. Normally in this form the human while aware will give more control to their wolf. Hunting running etc. Think, twilight if you must, big wolves.
Becoming a werewolf is pretty simple, the most common way is to be born one, this can happen by a werewolf breeding with a human giving a 50/50 chance or two wolves coming together 100% chance.
Bitten - This isn't just a simple bite, being turned by a bite requires the attack to be so vicious the human should almost die from it or does die in most cases. Just at the last second when they are about to die the wolf kicks in and begins to heal them. (This should be extremely dramatic, new personality, new abilities, trying to fight for control over the wolf who is also fighting for control. etc.)

The format used for NPCs will be universal and any and all NPCs presented are welcome to be incorporated into other stories.
