Hi all! I’m back to partner hunting and have been having a specific craving for a little spy/espionage rp. I’m mainly looking for modern settings, but we can totally do something more historical as well!
This of course will be OCxOC and if any romance occurs I’d prefer MxF but we can have some form of platonic/found family vibe as well. As far as O/O, it depends on the character and the plot. Some are a little more controlling, others need to be controlled some, and then some are purely in the middle. Theme wise overall, we can go as light or as dark as we want. It can be more comedic, a little more dead dove, or somewhere in the middle.
I prefer slow-burn over instant attraction. You know the type of characters who are spending time breaking down each other’s walls without even realizing it. Allies who may not actually be allies, full on enemies, handlers who care a little too much, double agents, burned operatives, rivals, people trying to remain human while living inside machinery designed to destroy trust, etc.
Writing wise I only use third person past tense unless the scene requires anything else. I’m not a stickler for length, but I am multi-para and generally around 850+ words. I love collaboration! Characters, playlists, pinterest boards, memes, headcanons, and everything that comes with it! We don’t have to chat OOC all the time snd be best friends, but I do enjoy story related OOC even if it’s just sharing a song or a picture that gave you an idea.
I’m looking for stories that lean heavily into atmosphere and character psychology rather than nonstop action. Things that deal with the overall tradecraft, dead drops, coded radio broadcasts, embassy parties full of veiled threats, surveillance photographs spread across dingy safe house tables at 3 AM, fancy resorts, back alley deals, scouting out targets in seedy clubs, that sort of thing. It’s dark and gritty with high stakes but also doesn’t take itself too seriously when needed. You know, something that can go from James Bond to Spy vs Spy in the blink of an eye. We don’t have to go full dead dove but themes can be darker!
I have three characters in mind already and some come with plots and others don’t. We can use that to get the ball rolling or start completely over!
