Hello Sanctum Dwellers!!
The good (or bad, up to you) news is that this will likely be the last time for some while you have an alert about new additions and changes. Minor tweaks might still occur, but for now, we have no further major additions planned to the site. I will be making a few more threads in the next couple of days to store information on badges, donations and others. Those links will be added here for convenience.
So what have we added and changed?
1. Chat:
After some discussion, we have decided to consolidate our chatrooms somewhat. General chat will remain for, well, general chat. The Sanctum Confessional will be used for any rants or topics inappropriate for General. The Forbidden Sanctum will be discontinued and roleplay of any kind (being defined as more than three "action" posts in a row) is no longer allowed in chat
2. Badges:
We announced our badge system last week, but this week brings two noteworthy additions, also courtesy of the magnificent @Rose for the Hunter
We are now offering our "Confirmed responsible adult" badge for any user who completes an age verification. As part of that, we are now allowing users to voluntarily age verify. Please message any mod or admin to do so. It will require a picture of yourself holding a photo ID with your date of birth visible. All other information can be covered (and we encourage doing so). The image can be deleted after verification.
Secondly, we are offering the "Sanctum Messanger" badge for people who help promote the site. Just send a mod or admin a screenshot or link to a Tweet, Facebook or Reddit post (other sites might be accepted, just ask!) where you promote the site. Use your referral link and you can earn Corrupting Influence at the same time
Edit: Additionally, a system to help new users build their profiles and get settled has been installed. As this system is tied to the "Welcome to the Sanctum" medal, any user who has already completed it will be getting that medal over the next few days
3. Threadmarks:
An old feature finally makes a return, as you can now add labels to your posts within a roleplay, which also adds them to an index for easy access. Mark worldbuilding posts for easy reference, give your story chapters or just make it easy to find a post you are proud of.
4. Watched thread filtering:
Managing your roleplay threads is easier than ever. With the addition of filtering to your watched threads section, you can now easily find all unread threads, all threads in a particular forum, all threads with a particular prefix and even by threadmarks.
5. Notepad:
A small new feature, you can now access a personal notepad under your user menu. Use it at your leisure to store all your idle brainstorming or just things you need to remember!!
6. BBCode:
We have installed a large number of new options for BBCode. This includes, amongst other things, the ability to create tabs and unique types of tables. Rather than explain them all, I will instead link the site BBCode help page, which includes both examples and the code you will need. Many (though not all) of these codes have also been worked into the large editor, which will appear on most desktops.
7. Smilies:
Last, but far from least, we are bidding farewell to our "Retro" smilies that have populated the chat since 2016.
In their place, @Peachy00Keen has created a new set. Sanctum, I would like you to meet Rawr, our new source for Smilies of all types:
