Things changed after random female demon invaded their house and killed Akako❜s mother in front of her. Akako tried her best to help her mother, despite always wishing her death deep down. Akako was not saddened, but she felt intense fear, after stabbing her enemy with a knife multiple times and realizing that she was not a human.
Luckily for Akako, the sun had already risen and her enemy was not wise enough to keep her mouth shut, so Akako realized she could easily kill her by opening curtains.
Few seconds after Akako killed the invader, two young demon hunters stormed in, witnessing the demon❜s last struggles.
━━━━━━━━━━☙ᘝᘞ❀ᘡᘜ❧━━━━━━━━━━
She was not the type who sacrifices herself for strangers, either.
Akako initiated becoming a demon hunter, because she was fascinated by the creature she killed: Creature that did not need to fear injuries, sickness, bullying, aging and inevitable death that follows it.
Akako needed to become a demon hunter in order to track down more demons and learn the secret of immortality.
She spent two years experimenting on the weak demons she caught, trying to become one of them, while lying to headquarters that she was researching more weaknesses demons could have, in order to destroy them easier.
Of course their blood was not strong enough to turn anyone, so she never made any progress.
Akako became frustrated after countless failed experiments and gave up on her dream to become immortal, she continued hunting demons though, because she could not find more stable job, besides she felt envious rage when she was thinking about demons: If she could not have eternal life, neither would they.
━━━━━━━━━━☙ᘝᘞ❀ᘡᘜ❧━━━━━━━━━━
Noticing Akako’s interest in him, he subtly flirted back, in order to distract the opponent and catch her off guard. Somehow, the demon got too carried away with his plan to seduce his opponent and accidentally ended up taking a bit of interest in her.
Eventually, the demon realized she did not really mean threat and could be of use as well, so he agreed to meet her sometimes, if she would accept to become his spy.
The demon’s plan was to use his eccentric plaything for his deranged schemes and eat her when he would grow bored of having fun with her. Akako was aware of his malicious intentions, but she allowed him to manipulate her like a marionette, anyway. She could not help doing anything just to be around him.
In the end, it did not go as the demon had planned; instead of getting bored of his puppet, he grew more and more attached to Akako to the point that he began developing feelings for her, despite being in denial.
In public, Akako dated a human guy, who was merely there to drive her to her unlikely ally.
Akako kept meeting her demon lover secretly, until he was killed by other demon hunters. After learning that the man of her dreams was no longer alive, Akako tearfully attacked random demon hunters in a blind rage, revealing all of her secrets. She massacred most of her colleagues around, because they were caught off guard, not expecting attack from their ally. In the end Akako was left to die with multiple fatal injuries, they decided that the disgusting traitor like her did not deserve quick death.
Her body was found by the demon king, after her heart stopped beating, however, her brain was still functioning. He decided to save Akako’s life by turning her into a demon, thinking that her vengeful rage could be useful to get rid of their mutual enemies, thus, Ningyou was created.

Her most used method is immobilizing target with a poisoned darts arrow and advancing safely, before it can recover from pain.

Corset — Akako always wears corset under her uniform to regulate her breathing. Without it, she is incapable of using any breathing techniques; her lungs are very weak because she barely survived asthma as a child. It eventually leads her to mastering concentration breathing, without realizing its true power.
Arrows — She carries poisoned darts arrows in a small bag, attached to her belt. However, said arrows are not deadly, all they can do is paralyzing enemy for a few seconds, which helps Akako to catch up with enemy’s speed. Akako does not have any apothecary skills, she cannot concoct strong poisons, she merely crushes wisteria flowers and soaks her darts arrows in the liquid.
Locket (Hidden under her uniform) — Silver, ornate antique locket that emits strong demonic power if one’s senses are keen enough. If it is opened, one can see locks of soft, silky hair, some fading from black to crimson and some fading from black to teal.
Fragrance — A fragrance bottle she emptied, in order to fill with wisteria liquid and make a paralyzing spray, in case situation is too rough for using mere arrows.

Story
Suffering from continuous headaches and nightmares, Akako was convinced by her family member to visit the new doctor. Or, rather, Akako agreed, just so escape daily nagging about it, while she had very little faith in the experimental methods such as hypnotherapies.
Meeting the young, attractive doctor, however, immediately made her reconsider, saying she was willing to give sessions a try, though it was solely out of her desire to see Dr. Tamio again, rather than becoming less skeptical about his methods.
Observant by nature, she eventually learned that he was a scammer, however, that was not enough for Akako to reconsider her feelings for him, if anything, she was further emboldened, hoping that if he cared so little about working ethics, he might have also overlooked the fact that doctors could not date their patients.
Eventually the two grew closer.
Akako learned that she was carrying his child, however, the doctor disappeared mysteriously before she could tell him, which left the woman wondering. Was he harmed by a family member of one of the people he scammed? Arrested? Had he simply moved somewhere else without telling her, because he has grown bored of her? Perhaps he had heard about the baby somehow and decided to avoid responsibility. And there were also those ridiculous rumors - the rumors about demon attacks - and a stain of blood left not too far away from his workplace…
Since then, Akako has not stopped searching for her lost love, sworn that she will kill him herself if he deliberately abandoned her and their baby.
Akako will eventually join the DSC and likely end up turning into a demon at some point.
Appearance
Akako has large, dark brown eyes, which appear black in the shadows and chest length, slightly wavy hair, which is a shade darker than her eyes. She usually keeps her hair down. Her face is unmarred by any scars and she wears civilian attire in monochrome shades or red tones. Her body has slim and petite build. Her brows are thin, arched and somewhat pointed. Her skin tone is medium, neither pale nor tanned. Her lips are thin as well.

Akako❜s father left when his daughter was still little. He remarried another woman and never contacted his old family again. Akako experienced intense emotional abuse daily, mainly coming from her own mother. Despite her miserable living conditions, Akako was not thrilled by the idea of arranged marriage, unlike other women her age. Akako is not too weak to decapitate her opponent (when her sword is sharpened enough), but she is still far weaker and slower than an average demon hunter. She depends on her sneaky strategy and reflexes, if it fails.BATTLE DETAILS

Sword — Maroon Nichirin katana. She named it Kindness. You know why.TOOLS
Corset — Akako always wears corset under her uniform to regulate her breathing. Being an only daughter of a teacher, Akako was taught how to read and write, unlike majority of villagers of the Sengoku period.
Her knowledge however, was not the only thing that made her different: Akako always preferred hunting over typical activities one would expect from the women of her generation, which resulted her to become an outcast. Eventually, after painful years of loneliness, she grew used to solitude to the point of enjoying it and seeing it as an essential part of her life.
When her settlement was attacked by demons, she was the only one to defend herself long enough to be found alive by arriving group of demon exterminators. She was taken under their care, until she could recover.
While recovering, she observed their training and took interest in it, beginning to practice once she was feeling better. Eventually, she became skilled enough with her sword to part her way and earn money by hunting demons on her own, renting a new house after her own was destroyed, not wanting to stay with the strangers she hardly got along with and be a burden. Her desire for solitude was what saved her from the massacre. At some point, she came to notice increased swarming of demons in some areas, interrogating them only to hear about the jewel they were after and grow intrigued by it herself, obsessed with the thought of becoming immortal, even if her plan was to use stealth and deception for obtaining shards, rather than violence, if possible.

Backstory (Accidental Time Traveling)
One moment, Ogawa Akako - an average Tsuchinoe, was in the Taisho era, following a young oni known as Haku Usagi, the next, she was hit by Usagi’s time manipulating BDA and tossed approximately 400 years back in time, when she was about to behead her target.
As if getting lost with no hopes of returning was not bad enough, Akako was about to find out that local demons could not be careless about sunlight or wisteria and many of them hunted in groups too, put aside the nauseating appearances of the house-sized insects, her trusty blade, Kindness hardly cut through.
Akako managed to earn living by hunting, regardless - recent massacre of the exterminator clan left very few people in her line of work, which meant she never lacked customers. While in her time, a frail woman was often underestimated, here, the other remaining exterminators in the area were a teenage girl and her missing younger brother, which automatically made Akako - an adult woman, look more formidable and seasoned, in the eyes of the villagers.
A spark of hope to return in her time ignited in Akako’s heart, when she heard about the Jewel of the Four Souls, after which, she decided to collect the shards, alas, it proved to be a challenging task, more so in the cases when she chose to minimize violence, if possible.
Alternate backstory (Deliberate Time Traveling)
Bone-Eater’s Well has always been selective, regarding who it would allow to pass through the time passage.
And then, there was the Cursed Cave far away, shrouded in mystery. Those who entered it, were never to be seen again and at times, there have been sightings of strange creatures, passing through it.
Not a soul was certain of its secrets: Was it haunted? Did missing people fall victim to the strange, otherworldly beasts? Or did it hold portals to the other dimensions? The rumors had it, that it was cursed by a female yokai from the powerful clan, who was separated from her lover to marry someone else for politics. She escaped her fate by fleeing, her last traces found near the cave.
People from the nearby villages are fearful of the cave and avoid it, along its surrounding areas. Only a few braver ones sealed the entrance with logs long time ago, but the wood has been eaten by termites and beetles decades ago and hardly holds any resistance anymore.
This was the cave Akako passed through, pushing the log remnants aside. She can access Taisho era anytime, as well as Sengoku period, all thanks to the portal inside the cave.
At times, she uses history books to “predict” future, or she simply earns living by the methods she is used to, such as hunting. Other times, she gathers old artifacts to sell them in her time.
Did she adapt to the differences of local demons on her own, or did exterminator clan shared a few tips before the massacre? Who knows? In any case, the tragedy increased the amount of people, requesting her help against the demons.
Hearing about the Jewel of the Four Souls, Akako was fascinated by its potential to grant her immortality and set off to search for its fragments, which was of course a challenging task for her, considering that she had no way of sensing them. It was difficult to seize even the ones she tracked, due to her intention to minimize violence, if possible.

What if a there was a living woman stuck in Hell, forced to disguise herself as a demon to blend in, until she finds her way home? Perhaps she will stay at the free hotel in the meantime, what better to wish for, than a place free of charge, when you are in her situation? Eventually, she shall likely hear about Asmodeus crystal and try to obtain it.
As for how the Hell she even got there without dying? Pick your poison:

- D.H.O.R.K.S. agents have attempted invading Hell via extra-dimensional portal before. Perhaps, one of their newer recruits of a petite stature, was “luckier” to invade, only for the portal to close right behind her.
- Akako confroned an Oni with an ability to open portals in space and time, and she was told to quite literally go to Hell.
- Akako tracked one of the imps using Asmodeus crystal, chasing after him into the portal and getting stuck after it closed and she lost the sight of the said imp.
- Akako found an old grimoire, lost by one of many members of Ars Goetia and decided it was a good idea to fuck around with the spell. Alas, the portal opened directly under her feet, transporting her to Hell and closing right after. The grimoire? Left in the world of living. The spell? She forgot.
