Kovina is a woman of solitude, self-indulgent, calculated, and mischievous. Upon first meetings, she is reserved yet sociable and observant. She only engages superiors, co-workers, or targets. Once she is close with someone, she has a dark humour, is considerate, genuine, forthcoming, and gentle. When upset, she's callous, sullen, and detached.

History
Kovina was kidnapped from her parents before age ten while at carnival. Raised as a sleeper agent, Kovina went from a cushy, comfortable life to being raised in Needlepoint, Idaho, by a man and woman that she referred to as The Clones. For a long time, she didn't know what she was being trained for until her first mission at age 18. The blinders had been lifted, and she was finally asked to put her training to work. She didn't know what it would cost her. She certainly hadn't expected to cost everything. After 'graduating', Kovina attended college internationally while carrying out various missions for her handlers. Until an Interpol investigation caused the handlers to go silent. The last message she received was to remain on standby, but that was over a decade ago. She had always been told that getting out was never an option. That the only pink slip they had came with a toe tag, and so she waited. Living her life until she was called upon again. Or until it was her turn for a toe tag.

In her humanoid form, Ember has a jet black curly afro. Her power is stored in her eyes which is where her second form comes from. In her second form, her hair changes color to the same color as her hair, and fangs protrude. Her eyes glow from the fae blood she drinks and the intensity is controlled by the measure of her bloodlust.

Growing up in the Philippines, Grae was astutely aware that the status her father was raising them in was at odds with the life her friends lived in the neighborhood she grew up in. They'd always managed to afford the best education, the best clothes, and even the best presents around the holidays. Up until her mother's death before her 10th Birthday, Grae would have told anyone who asked that she'd had the best childhood but that all changed when she and her older brother moved to China to live with their father's aging mother.
With her mother's death came the stark reality of the difference in being raised by her versus her father. From the stricter expectations around schooling to her grandmother's traditional methods around disciplining young children & eugenicist ideals. The combination of her father and grandmother's traumatic child-development methods without the levity of her mother's presence & familiarity of her culture was enough to turn the once bubbly & outgoing child into a dissociated high achiever.
Her father's work in the underworld as a procurer of rare items brought danger to their family often but whomever his main employer was, they paid a hefty price to ensure her father was always able to deliver on his business contracts. With her brother off to college within the first few years of moving to Guangzhou, Grae survived the hazards of her father's business choices & abuses of his decompensating mother. Even when they'd almost cost her her life.
Fortunately for her, knowing how to speak more than one language along with her excellent academic track record had been her saving grace when it came time for college. Grae got a full scholarship and recieved a Bachelors and Masters in Economics with a minor in Diplomatic Relations. She started out wanting to help people and got her first job with the United Nations, but it became clear her skills were better suited elsewhere. During a tour in Rwanda, Grae saw how corruption and government-backed coups decimated people everywhere. The UN's neutrality seemed to bring more harm than good, leaving power vacuums that left countries in ruins.
It was then she found her current occupation by way of specialized education courses being offered to help UN workers better understand the territories they were working in. Instead of peacekeeping & getting there aggressive it was all said and done, she preferred to give those who wanted it the means to free themselves. What started as an endeavor to provide small countries with the means to protect their republics quickly grew into a business similar to what her father did except she made sure to establish herself as an independent contractor instead of beholding herself solely to underground organizations when there was more than enough money to be made legitimately. Despite being in its second decade of operation, Grae's business continues to flourish and steadily earn profit. Her work is mainly in EurAsia and Africa, but the war on terror has grown in scope since the Accords were signed. With new players entering the market while old ones diversify their sources, Grae's business stands to make a fortune off the delicate alliances being formed and broken as countries struggle to catch up to the quickly evolving technological Era. And should she have her way, she hopes to get out of the game before she meets an early grave. Though for now? The journey ahead for Nobara Holdings as a second-tier company in its industry is long and bright.

Other: Vitiligo patches on her left eye, forehead, chin, around her right eye, and on the left-hand side of her chest. She has no tattoos, but has a single lateral surgical scar hidden by her cleavage & high-neck blouses. Two beauty marks on her face.
