The Star-Gazer’s Exposition

Steampunk set in a (low fantasy) Late Medieval Europe/Earth.
The Old World was set ablaze, invaded by the forces of the New World Empire, who sought to impose their rule over the industrialized nations and city-states of Europe. While there remains dissent and small pockets of rebellion all over these nations, major conflicts have ended with occupied nations now run by puppet governments and occupying forces as the major armies have moved on to further conquest.
The Star-Gazer’s Exposition is a traveling Carnival that moves from city to city bringing joy and happiness to people who might be feeling the weight of oppression. It is a collection of entertainers, from singers, dancers, acrobats, freaks, vendors of all sorts and a menagerie of strange creatures. They travel from city to city on board the Jubilee, a massive airship owned by a mysterious individual who is rarely seen in public.
In reality, the airship and Exposition are a front for a group of thieves, spies and saboteurs who are determined to undermine the occupying governments while slowly attempting to foment rebellion among the masses.
