The following are my characters for Ziemia, ones that I would not consider NPCs and would use in a story setting.
Tadeusz Koziek
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Race: Human
Hometown: Outskirts of Walkaduma
Family:
Miecusz Koziek (Father, deceased)
Tarcusz Koziek (Brother, deceased)
Gini Sakusdy (Mother, estranged)
Appearance: Tadeusz stands at 5'9" with a somewhat toned build. He has a pale complexion and his features are hardened and rough, some naturally and some as a consequence of his upbringing. He has light brown hair that he tries to keep short, though has sometimes overgrown due to his travelling. He keeps a cleanly shaven face at all times unless it is physically not possible. He has a scald in the shape on the left side of his head from an accident.
Personality: Tadeusz has a curious mind, he's often hungry for clarity, which can cause him to be put at risk. Tadeusz is generally reserved around people he doesn't know, and although he's trusting of most strangers, he's always weary of his surroundings and what could happen. Taduesz has a very anti-stoic mindset, believing that he can change things even when he can't.
Weapons/Skills: Taduesz has no magical prowess, leaving him susceptible to those who do have magical abilities. Tadeusz absolutely struggles with most forms of ranged combat, especially the bow. The one exception to the rule is thrown weapons, which he excels with, otherwise Tadeusz is at his strongest in close quarters combat. He carries around a handaxe and several throwing knives at all times
Having grown up in a homestead-esque setting, Tadeusz has basic skills in self-sufficiency. He's participated in building log cabins and wooden fences, as well as working with knives and basic wooden structures. He's assisted in growing some types of crops and herding some sorts of animals. His father primarily focused on teaching him to scout, and instilled Walkaduma military know-how into him.
History:
Tadeusz was born in the capital of his county, Walkaduma, though it was short lived. He was born to a mother who oversaw wartime contingencies in Walkaduma's military and a father who had a long career in special infantry, most commonly deployed during battles during border skirmishes with Myrelord. Tadeusz's parents had careers that were seen as glorious by people in Walkaduma, but much of that glory would have a blanket thrown over it before Tadeusz was old enough to see it. When he was still a toddler, Tadeusz's father took his chance to retire after a particularly bad skirmish at the shared border of the two nations. The same week he took Taduesz and his older brother and left the capital, leaving behind his then-fiance to relocate outside the northwestern border of Walkaduma, only a marathon's length outside of the country.
His father relocated with a small group of his old military partners, about 15 adults counting both the men and women, and their children came with them. They brought with them only the essentials to start their own tiny civilization. Over the years, their small pile of tools and some blood, sweat, and tears turned into a dozen or so wooden cabins with a barn, a small crop field, and a scout's nest. What had been a life of chaos, panic, and war turned into a deaf-like silence. For most of them, this improvement was exactly what they wished for, and they settled into their new lives. For Miecusz, Tadeusz's father, the adjustment never set in right. The silence often left him feeling extremely paranoid, bringing forward panic, anger, and fear.
The years passed on, and Miecusz worked hard to provide what kind of a life he could for his sons. Aside from the occasional trip back into Walkaduma, Tadeusz grew up only having the few other kids his age to interact with, as a result, they were close knit not by choice, but by default. Tadeusz grew up happy, he learned to be grateful for the victories that him and his community could create. But with each passing day, his father's mental health declined more and more. This would result in occasional spells of yelling and acting out, some more aggressive than others.
Nobody ever quite understood or knew what to do. Tadeusz's brother, Tarcusz, always did better at bringing his father out of his spells than anyone else. They continued to live as a community, and a family, albeit not a functional one. Tadeusz, like the rest of their people, didn't know what to do, and vastly lived in denial of the problem. Most days still were good for Tadeusz, but his father only declined more and more. Any loud noises would set him off into a sharp panic, and his father would only decline into a deeper sickness. This would ultimately result in a deadly consequence one day.
When Tadeusz was 22 he would embark on a trip up north with his father and brother to hunt for rare game, an annual trip they made, but this one would be different. A "hunting accident" would leave his father and brother dead, and Tadeusz with a heavy burden of regret.

Onyx Unryth
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Race: Human
Hometown: Arcaneus, Kousleny
Family:
Ileus Unryth (Father, estranged)
Lynnorah Unryth (Mother, estranged)
Lapis Unryth (Brother, estranged)
Jade Unryth (Sister, estranged)
Opal Unryth (Sister, estranged)
Appearance: Onyx has an olive skin tone with overgrown black hair. He stands at 5'10" and has a firm build. His facial hair tends to be grown out, as he doesn't have a steady enough hand to cut it himself. His features are squared and rough. Ironically enough, despite having no magical affinity, his eyes are emerald green.
Personality: Onyx tends to have a pessimistic view of the world, an unfortunate consequence of his upbringing. His views of the governments of Ziemia are typically negative, but he has a fair amount of confidence. Onyx has an extreme tendency to overthink any given situation, but he also has a will of iron and sets his mind to his goals. He works extremely well with others, albeit is often paranoid while he's with others.
Weapons/Skills:
Onyx has little weapons experience, knowing only what he was taught by The Equalists. He always carries a large coil of tanglevine with him, tucked underneath a coat if possible. He is able to effectively use it as a parrying tool and constraint I'm combat. Other than that, Onyx carries a concealable mace and a short sword, both of which he has had moderate training with. He carries around a couple knives, mostly for tools or emergencies, but has no combat experience with them. Onyx severely lacks in wilderness survival, and tends to thrive more in urban
History:
Onyx had a pretty standard upbringing for someone in one of the developed countries, at least for the first stage of his life. He was born as the third child in what would be a family with four children. Onyx's father, Ileus, was an agent of one of the members of the Council of Five. His primary task was to ensure that members of the general population with promising magical affinity were given express access to the tools Kousleny had to offer them.
The problem in Onyx's life was that him and his sister, Jade, were not born with any magical affinity, something that is seen as a deadly sin in Kousleny. Their parents waited and waited for them to any trace of the most minor magical capabilities, but that moment came. Onyx watched his sister be kicked out when she was a teenager, and then he was forced to follow just a few years later.
Onyx performed very poorly once he hit the border out of Kousleny. His parents granted him no knowledge on wilderness survival, nor did he have any material possessions when he left. He would have died on the road had he not been taken in by a branch of The Equalists who had been scouting the border of Kousleny. Onyx had lived this long hearing only terrible things about these people, but having no other place to turn to, he accepted their invite and joined their ranks. He followed them back to the wilderness that night after watching them snatch and grab nearly a dozen travelers who were leaving the border, each bound with tanglevine.
They spent nearly two months on their journey back to Zainsik, where The Equalists had a hideout. Onyx spent the next handful of years performing tasks for The Equalists, most non-violent. He trained with them on defense against the magically gifted and they gave him some sort of a home with them. But deep down Onyx has always been left with a deep conflict, is his home with The Equalists or is it back with his old family in Kousleny?

Aaron Uriel
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Race: Demigod - Human
Hometown: Bethrem, Moyakon - A city settlement hosted in the northern border of Moyakon, high in the mountains.
Family:
Simon Uriel (Father, aged 58) - Simon is an excellent hunter that came from a long line of Moyakon hunters. The Uriel family hosts many soft legacies within the hunting community, and a long line of secrets. Simon was strongly involved with city leadership, having a place in the heart of the politicians and people, though he never held any actual office.
Lovec - Goddess of Hunting (Mother, estranged) - Lovec is known and worshipped in mostly human communities and Walkaduma, given her human form. She's a fierce hunter with dozens of ancient tales and folklore written about her. Her traits significantly contributed to Aaron compared to his father.
Appearance:
Aaron hosts features that don't suggest aging or stress as pronounced as other men who grew up hunting on the north side of Moyakon. He attributes these somewhat softer features due to his mother's gene pool hosting dominance compared to his father. In order to compensate for these more gentle features, Aaron tends to shave less and promote a more shaggy face and hairstyle.
Aaron has a very light-colored complexion, almost as if his skin was designed to have a camouflaged effect in the snow. He has dim blue eyes and blonde hair. He stands at 6'1" and has a lean frame, clearly built to travel rough terrain versus interfere with it.
Abilities and Proficiencies:
Hunting Experience - Aaron's entire upbringing was based around integrating him with hunting, as has been tradition in his family for generations. He's proficient with bows, crossbows, spears, snares, and other traps. Aaron also has proficiency in improvised camouflage and an extremely thick layer of patience.
Gifts of Lovec - Passed down to him from his mother, Aaron holds some traits that are inhuman. His sense of smell, sight, and hearing are significantly more capable than his human counterparts, more closely rivaling or sometimes surpassing other races who have superiority in basic senses. He also has a strong natural bond and ken with wild animals, although seemingly not with domesticated animals.
Jade Company - His few years in Jade Company have forced him to change his hunting prowess to an entirely different angle, sometimes utilizing entirely different weapons and methods to hunt in a more urban setting. Beyond a stronger sense of urban survival skills, Jade Company has also instilled Aaron with a sense of secondary brotherhood.
History:
Aaron's family line has long been associated as one of hunters. In Bethrem, elves and humans participate in hunting, meaning that humans who desired to hunt had to relentlessly work hard at it. Elves had stronger senses, and therefore a natural advantage. Nonetheless, the Uriel line was entirely human and had seen success in the locally virtuous labor of hunting. So much so that Aaron's father one night found "blessing" in the disguise of a woman, who little did he know, was so much more.
When Aaron was born, his mother left him with his father in Bethrem, and left them both, as is usual with godly interference in mortal life. Aaron grew up with a very loving father and community, though the chilling cold of northern Moyakon made life tough for everyone who lived there, even during the best of times. Aaron was instilled with values similar to his father's, along with the same aptitude for hunting. Occasionally, he would witness his dad make moral decisions and try to hold influence over others.
Many in Bethrem found it to be their duty to take in refugees who came from Kousleny, almost always exiled when they were born without magical gifts. These individuals were cast out, or sometimes outright killed, for their lack of magical ability. This left a consistent output of refugees with no place to go, especially if they were humans, as Myrelord would take hostility to strange humans near their borders. Simon took a strong stance against the precedent, arguing that enabling immigration towards the northern mountains of Moyakon would be perilous for young refugees. Moyakon was home to bitter cold and dangerous predators, as well as the capital of dragons. This led to a conflict in their city that lasted months, hearing passionate arguments from many individuals.
Ultimately, precedent was set that they would take in any and all refugees from Kousleny who claimed they were victims of hostile policies. When Simon requested intervention from King Abraham, the king declined, citing that it was the choice of the city, and not his to make. Simon took no further steps to protest, and while it became somewhat more common to see refugees come from Kousleny, it was entirely common to hear of treacherous tales from their journey to Moyakon. It was assumed that many were lost to the freezing snow or deadly predators.
Early into Aaron's twenties, his father presented him with a copper sundial, studded with jades. He told Aaron that he'd mastered hunting the prey and predators of Moyakon, and that it was time to move on to something more advanced. The stories of Jade Company in Zainsik were entirely contrasting to Moyakon, despite Jade Company's roots. Zainsik was full of degenerate and antagonistic communities, contrasted to Moyakon which was sometimes zealous in their religious pursuit. But, as per his father's wishes, Aaron made the journey to Zainsik. He has carried out contracts for Jade Company ever since.
