I didn't know the history behind sanctum when I first started here, but I truly am grateful for its being here. I started on chat games, and eventually migrated to a plethora of forums it's most of which I cant even remember the names of.

However once I started on Sanctum I never looked again, I love the staff and community here.

I think my favorite memories here are from the friends ive made from here. No matter what happens down the road I'll always look fondly on the roleplays started from here, and the fact that were it not for here I would not have met the people I had.

My favourite memories includes the people I came across over here after fleeing from the Swedish poison-clouds that were the sites I frequently ended up in. Sure; nothing is perfect but I must say you come pretty close ;D Special thanks to @TheMoonAuthoress who was the one inviting me here after I was ready to toss in the towel :'D I don't regret giving writing a last chance at all, and my thanks goes out to her <3 And for the rest of the wonderful souls that are on here? YOU know who you are :* <3 Thanks sanctum! ^^
 
I remember when this site started; that's how long I've been around. The other sites were... Dramatic and definitely not for me. This felt more like a safe haven, back then. I've met some incredible people on here, and I hope to keep meeting great people.

My favorite memory? Hmm, I have no idea. I have so many of them. I'd have to really narrow it down to the events. Each one is different and unique in its own way, but extremely fun, regardless of what it's about.

Here's to another 10 years.
 
I am also new here, but I adore how friendly everyone is! I was so nervous about joining the site because I truly felt like a tiny guppy in the sea, but everyone here has been so incredibly sweet and truly has inspired me to write more often!
 
Put simply: I love this place. Have since the moment I clicked on it.

Honestly, I've always found the Sanctum to be easy on the eyes. It has such a homey feel to it. So rich. I've met wonderful people here, many of whom helped push me to become a better writer and story teller, and I will always be happy to call this place my writing home. Be it lurking, or scratching that writing itch.

I hope this place continues to thrive. But then, as you've said, you guys do such a fantastic job maintaining it that I'm confident the Sanctum will indeed.
 
I’ve only been here for a tenth of the sites existence but I cannot express how happy I am that Ceal found it for us to join. My muse was running on fumes because I didn’t have a creative outlet when Sanctum was stumbled upon.

Like most people, I was nervous at first. Didn’t know how to navigate the site, what to do about writing, etc. but once I figured it out and things got rolling, it was a breath of fresh air. Once I managed to get writing partners, I was finally able to feed my muse and in turn I got creativity.

It’s been a wonderful experience with great people (except you, James 🖕 ) and I hope for many more years on site!

Small edit: I completely forgot to mention my favorite memory (outside of just joining the site) but it has to be when I earned my first nickname of qwasan. Still love it to this day.

I can't speak too much to a favorite memory, since I've barely been in Sanctum that long, but after RPing for years on another site and losing all those works and conversations and connections coming here was a welcome adventure. I felt right at home immediately and found a theme that reminded me of the old site, and the thrill of finding new people to RP with has carried me through these past few weeks. I'm so glad to be a part of such a vivid and amazing community, and I hope to be here for the 20th birthday celebration too. 🫶
 
In the year and half I've been here, it has been some of the best time I've had on the internet, let alone in roleplay. I had taken a break from MMO's after nearly 7 years of playing the same character on XIV (longer if you include my time on WoW and those ancient characters) and really really wanted a change. And a challenge.

When I found this site, I knew I didn't need any others.

I've already got a lot of memories here, but I think the best of them are meeting certain people who have become some of my closest friends: @firefly, @Jumbled, and @CoupDeGrace147.

Almost every other memory is chat-related. Even when y'all are strange and I don't know what the hell you're saying, it's always fun being in chat. I love it and how supportive I've seen members be with one another.

I'd given up on writing for a long time. I'd had an awful experience on one forum that I left, so it was probably at least a full year where I never touched a writing site just to heal and keep away from all the toxicity. It was so hard to find like-minded writers the times I'd looked in the past, too. So I guess I'd given up there, too.

One day I randomly decided to do a google search for a new writing home where I could have a calm, fresh start, and I found my place. Some old faces recognized me immediately when I joined, and one of my favorite memories was when a friend noticed me join and posted this on my intro thread: "The site just grew ten times cooler today. Believe me, Jumbled will blow you all away. Welcome, Jumb!"

I came here expecting to stay invisible because of the rotten time I'd had in other places. What I realized only about a month or two in was I knew people that knew people- In other words, a person that knew me and knew of my hobbies told James to let me make site art. I didn't expect an admin to ever talk to me like I was just another human being; like a person, even an equal. That was never my experience previously. But there it was, a normal conversation.

After I turned in my art and sat here so soo sooo nervous, James comes back a week or so later talking about a dragon theme and I stared at it like, Does he know he's talking to me?? I genuinely thought he was confused or just telling me about something he was going to make until I stared at it long enough to realize he wanted me to keep doing art.

And so it began! Now I'm a monster. You're welcome.

I love Sanctum. This site is home, even when I don't have active stories. It's a good place. I've met so many great people, made so many friends. I am so thankful for all of it.

My favorite memories are just all of the amazing times I've had writing here, and the friends I've made along the way. I'm still kind of 'new', I guess, and haven't been active on the site for an incredibly long time, mostly getting really active at the tail end of 2025? But I have LOVED every roleplay I've begun, and met some wonderful writing partners. I'm excited to see where the site goes!!
 
I'm another relative newbie, coming up on my one-year anniversary at the end of the month. But my time here has flown by both quickly and delightfully :love: I'm so grateful to have gotten to read, write and interact with some brilliant writers on this site, and of all the forums I've frequented over the years (there have been so, so many 🙃) this one feels like home more than any other. I love having space not only for RP but for solo work and critique, and the Monthly Challenges have done wonders for my procrastination morale in helping me rebuild a portfolio of stories. I also love seeing the lively TTRPG community thriving, y'all are delightful to creep on ❤️

I don't remember when I joined inner sanctum, according to my profile it was 2023. Though as I frequently floated around many RP forums, I think I signed up and forgot about it all. That was until Black Dahlia RP shutdown last year, and that was when my true journey on Inner Sanctum began! And it's safe to say I've never loved a community of people more, though I don't message often in the chat I always creep on the messages in the general chat, and it gives me a good laugh! I wish I had actively used Inner Sanctum sooner, because I now know I was missing out!

Thank you to our wonderful founders, staff and the wonderful people that make up the place I call my safe space away from a world that can feel overwhelming :aquaheart:
 
My favorite memory is hard to choose with being here for 8 years. But at the top of the list has to be finding my first writing partner who now, 7 years later, is my husband. It was not meant to be any connection except friends/writing partners but apparently fate had others plans and I wouldn't have my life any other way then it is now <3

But secondly this site has become a legit second home to me, with everyone from the admins and mods and heralds to all the writing partners I've made along the way have made this site an amazing, welcoming place that always takes the number 1 spot for writing in my book. Thank you to all the admins (including James I guess), mods and heralds that keep this place running with fresh, new looks and keep it a safe place for all of us to write and have fun! If there was a way to send virtual cookies to y'all I'd send each of you a dozen ❤️

Aha! Well, one thing that stands out as ‘memorable’ for me was winning the Aug ‘24 monthly challenge. It was the last monthly challenge I planned on participating in, so it felt super lucky to win (or co-win, really.)

Timing wise, the win also came in not tooo long after I’d decided to try and collect as many badges as a non-staff user could.. What I hadn’t anticipated at the time was an additional 2 dozen <plus? I didn’t actually go count> badges being added 🫠😅 But the badges have also become a favored part of this site for me. They’re a super fun way to get people involved and I, for one, am hereee for it. …No, literally. I’m here, I’ve posted. Badge me bb!

My favorite memory is definitely my very first roleplay that I started on here when I joined back in 2022.
I had gotten SO deeply interested in the characters that I was drawing fanart of them, which I don't do often since I'm not very good at drawing men lol.

I take hiatus' very often because I burn out so quickly, but I absolutely love how I'm able to jump back onto here and be welcomed with such open arms. I adore how friendly everyone is, and also I'm loovvvvinnnnggg the themes too, that's a big thing that makes me so so happy when I come on. I stay on the princess theme, pink is my fav. :blush:
 
Y'all helped me get through the pandemic with at least half of my sanity intact, and for that I'm grateful 😹😹😹 love y'all and cant wait for the next ten years of duckery 🥳🥳🥳

That's not what I meant, but its too funny to change it back
