Hello! I'm stonehand, one of many names I hold on the worldwide web. I came up with it on the spot when joining on this site, so I don't have much history to it, just felt right and sounded cool! x)
I've been roleplaying on and off since I was a kid, but took a long break and tried getting back into it on discord. It didn't last too long, though university life could have played a role in that. Now with COVID-19 making me stay indoors and isolated for awhile (my university has decided to do to online learning ((thankfully))), I thought I would give it a shot again. I've been having some trouble writing on my own lately, and I needed something to help fuel, boost, and improve that part of my creativity.
I love telling stories and building worlds. Roleplay offers such a great outlet for it because you can do it collaboratively. I love the complex art of storytelling from narrative arcs to character development, but sometimes it can be really limiting. It provides a way to just "go with the flow" with someone else and let the story be explored as you go. I do this on my own sometimes, but its can be exhausting trying to constantly figure out whats next or what would be better for the plot. I think this will be a great opportunity to learn on how others take their narratives and a good practice for me to solve complex situations. (i.e; a character overcoming an obstacle that the other player provided, figuring out how my character should react in a certain situation, etc.)
