Character(s) The Archetypes

I'm making this thread as a kind of catalog of archetypes that I like to play. Note that these are not characters, as I cater each character I play to the RP I'm playing in. However, these are the basic personas I tend to return to again and again. The point of this thread is twofold:

1. For myself, to draw on when making a new character so that I may quickly create a new one for an RP.
   
   1. a. Either archetype can be used for entirely different genres, including fantasy, sci-fi, slice-of-life, historical, horror, romance, urban fantasy, and drama
2. So that future partners may look at these and maybe let me know what type of character they'd like to play up against.

Note that they are all males tailored for MxM-types roleplay, but they can be switched to other kinds of RP. The critical part is the personality, which can be applied to a number of varying sexual orientations and gender identities.

Appearance

Make-up, hair dye, lotions, surgery, virgin's blood, the primo uomo will stop at nothing to be the fairest of them all. As such, his appearance often changes, depending on the roleplay, always wanting to be the personification of beauty. Typically, he is featured with porcelain skin and striking green eyes like flowing venom. He will often have an eating disorder, which will be evident in his physique.

Personality

Fitting as the first entry in this catalog, the Primo Uomo symbolizes ultimate beauty. He has the beauty that would offend the gods, and he wears it like a weapon. The Primo Uomo is a very ambitious individual who is desperate for fame and wealth, and seems to barely care about anyone as he climbs his way to the top. He knows the power behind being lusted after but fails to understand how fickle that power is. As such, he quickly succumbs to jealousy, and his jealousy is murderous. Any threat to his power, he will eliminate or die trying. He is both blindingly charming, seductively passionate, and devastatingly vain. To be the object of his affections is to be truly spectacular. He enjoys being adored by the masses, but will only fall in love once someone lives up to his standards.

From the outside, the Primo Uomo appears to be calm, regal, and sophisticated, but he is also ruthless, jealous, and obsessive. But it will never be seen outright. He is more likely to poison one's food than strike them.

He will often find himself in positions of power that he has schemed himself into, whether as someone's secret lover, a rising superstar, or the king himself. Not only is he relentless in his pursuit, but he is also competent. It is hard to find a match to his wits, and even when confronted about his misdeeds, he seems to find a way to come out on top.

Beneath the Primo Uomo's self-absorbed exterior, there lies sorrow and dissatisfaction. Internally, the Primo Uomo is genuinely a miserable and lonely individual who lives a life of despair and fear. He had proved to continuously use materialism as a coping mechanism, leading to becoming a demanding and ultimately sad individual.

Appearance

Unaccustomed to the finer things in life, the Ascender's beauty comes from simplicity. With natural red hair and green eyes, he naturally draws stares. He dresses conservatively, albeit in a slightly effeminate manner. That is not to say that he is unfashionable, only that he aims for a more classic kind of beauty.

Personality

The Ascender's main objective is to be the picture of perfection. But more than just appearing perfect, the Ascender has an innate need to be perfect; the perfect partner, the perfect friend, the perfect sibling, the perfect son, and the perfect parent. He often comes from a poor background, with an absent mother, dropping out of school to take over his family's household. He is fiercely protective of those he loves and will make excuses for them when they misbehave.

Due to his limited education, he has very few skills outside of the home, but it will often be surrounding hospitality or baking if he needs a job. That is not to say that he doesn't have any skills. He is the glue that keeps his family together, and his natural charm and grace help him ascend the layers of society.

Unlike most other archetypes, the Ascender rarely possesses any magical powers or exerts any physical force. He strongly believes in maintaining grace and self-control. He is a quiet type who only speaks when he feels people will listen; content with observing as things unfold, he knows precisely when and how to strike. Though rarely used, perhaps his most extraordinary power is his silencing glare.

At his best, he is sincerely charming, but at his worst, his need to be perfect creates a neurotic and repressed character whose obsession with perfection comes out in self-harming ways.

Appearance

Having a love for the color black, the Thirteenth is only concerned with his appearance because he must. He is more interested in appearing authoritative than beautiful. That is not to say he doesn't have some very striking, statuesque features. He will most likely have black hair and pale skin with slightly pink lips. In some variants, he adopts the characteristics of a typical emo, while in others, he is much more conservative.

Personality

Hell hath no fury like the Thirteenth scorned. He is ruthless and devious and will do whatever it takes to achieve his goals. He is endlessly affectionate to those he holds dear, and he doesn't care who knows it. To him, affection is the entire point of socializing. He is confident to a fault, believing himself to be above most others. In addition to his deviousness, the Thirteenth is also very misleading in his personality. But underneath the mask of stoicism, the Thirteenth unleashes the full brunt of his wrath with a smile, relishing in the pain of others.

Owing to his misleading personality, he also expresses sarcasm, wielding every word like a blade. He tends to refer to his rivals and enemies with pseudo-affectionate pet names. The Thirteenth is soft-spoken, proper, and elegant in his demeanor, knowing full well he has more power in the joint of his little finger than most people will attain in their entire lives. He is as close to divinity as any mortal will ever be. As beautiful as he is wrathful.

Appearance

Striking and intriguing, the Shadow Beneath the Tides' appearance changes often. He is often given shapeshifting abilities, and so his beauty is a matter of his own imagination. Thusly, it changes to fit the situation, but he will often have a basis form of a well-sculpted, blonde, blue-eyed man. The question becomes whether this is really his true form or if this, too, is a form he dreamed up.

Personality

To this character, the law is merely a suggestion, and he is often found in unlawful professions, such as a thief. He isn't motivated by prestige or fame, but follows purely hedonistic attractions; he takes what he wants because he wants it, not because someone else tells him to want it. He's a very sensual character, and it's not easy to get him to settle down.

He's a very cool character, and it's hard to find anything that he actually cares about. That being said, he is very resourceful, and there's nothing he won't do in order to get what he wants. It can be very enchanting to be with someone so careless about everything, but it can also be a great turn-off. But if you're not charmed by him, he probably doesn't care.

With this carelessness also comes a lack of meaning, and so he is always looking for the next fix, the next thing to get him high, the next fuck, the next rush. The question becomes, will he ever be content?
