This is an interest check. Character sheets and all that will be added probably by Sunday the 23rd if we can get just a little more interest.

If not, I will log the idea away for another time and work on something else of my design.

Mansion of The Black Lily

Nestled deep in the forest, though no one is really sure which one, is a beautiful Gothic mansion owned by a beautiful sorceress by the name of Abigail Wickenstein.

Abigail runs this mansion as brothel catering strictly to the supernatural community, likewise the individuals working for Abigail are also of supernatural nature… males, females and everything in between have found their way to Abigail for one reason or another, in exchange for their work, they are paid well, clothed exquisitely, fed only the best food, provided with basically anything everything they need and protected fiercely with all of Abigail's vast power.

Any who step within Abigail's mansion and dare to harm a member of her chosen family, enchanted knight statues placed in every room will come to life, throw the individual out of the mansion and Abigail places an irrevocable enchantment upon these offenders that prevent them from ever approaching the grounds of The Black Lily ever again. Never again will black lilies show them the way.

The knight statues will know if The Black Lily employee is consenting to any kind of bedplay that might otherwise be misinterpreted. The defense spell only activates if the employee is not consenting or feeling in distress.

Only those of a supernatural or inhuman persuasion can find The Black Lily mansion, all one must do is walk into any wooded area, think about The Black Lily and a trail of black lilies will show the way into the pocket dimension where The Black Lily is tucked safely away from human detection.

Those who work for Abigail are not required to engage in sexual activities with the patrons, those that wish otherwise may cater to the patrons arriving at The Black Lily seeking only pleasant conversation and an ear to listen.

Individuals who do engage in sexual activities with the patrons wear a bracelet or necklace bearing a charm of a black lily made of polished jet, enabling the patrons to know it is okay to approach them with this request.

Patrons may be denied this service if the particular individual approached does not wish to service them. Aggressive behavior from patrons when denied will be met with Abigail's wrath, she will not tolerate abuse in her home.

RULES
  1. Sanctum Rules must be followed at all times. Read them if you haven't already.
  2. Please treat everyone in this game with courtesy and respect. No being a bully or starting fights. I will get staff involved if I absolutely must.
  3. We are LGBT+ friendly here. Everyone is welcome and certainly, I am sure there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
  4. Please have absolute respect for people's boundaries and comfort zones, do not try and force anything on someone that they do not want. Staff will be informed if something along the lines of 'Thank you for thinking of me, but no thank you' is not enough for whatever the situation might be.
  5. DO NOT push and/or bully for replies. People are busy with personal lives, jobs, kids and much more, be conscious of the fact that something important might actually be preventing a person from posting as quickly as you'd desire.
  6. This is a smut leaning sandbox style game intended purely for enjoyment, there will not be any kind of grand exciting plot with twists and turns. If you wanted something like that, I'm afraid this game might be disappointing for you.
  7. Absolutely no mortal 'average joe' characters are permitted. There are spells in place to prevent normal people from finding the mansion and no one is going to somehow 'accidentally' find their way there. Sorry. No loopholes to have normal human characters.
  8. Employee characters must fill out a character sheet, give it to Missmonkey here in a spoiler for approval and then after being approved by Missmonkey, it must be posted into the designated character sheet thread for the game.
  9. Patron characters may fill out a sheet if they wish to, but it's not required if you intend for your patron character to be one of the come and go types. However, please use the provided header with brief information about your character and float a shrunken down picture of your character off to one side of your post. It helps people in replying to you when they know what your characters look like and etc.
  10. If you play a vampire or werewolf, please look at the spoiler at the end of the rules, I have worked out two types for each. This is to prevent bickering between players over how someone's vampire or werewolf is different from theirs and they think they should be able to control how something works because their character was there first and yada, yada, yada. I've seen it before and I want to avoid that happening here, so my rules on the two species will be law. Sorry if this is an inconvenience, but if anyone is going to decide that, it will be the GM.
  11. Any questions may be privately sent to Missmonkey and will be answered as quickly as is possible. Please have patience.
  12. The era for this game will be modern day. Although immortal beings originating from older eras are totally welcome to wear the clothing of their day if they so choose to.

First you have purebloods- The exact origins of purebloods are not entirely certain, but a time honored and widely accepted legend states that the purebloods were the result of the ancient woman Lilith mating with a mortal man after she became a demon… the child created from this union fed not upon grain or any kind of meat… but upon the blood of mortals.

Purebloods can go in the sunlight, but not for long periods of time. Anything longer than two hours would begin to result in sunburns that would gradually become worse and worse the longer the pureblood vampire spends in the direct sunlight.

Purebloods can also reproduce in the traditional way, although it can take some time to do so… unless of course, it was a male pureblood mating with a mortal woman instead of another pureblood. Mortal wombs are surprisingly very receptive to pureblood seed. Pureblood scientists are still exploring the reasons why that might be.

Another fact about purebloods that stands out against the other kind is that purebloods only need to feed once a week, though they certainly can more often if they so desire to. For Standard once a week feeding, they must either drain a mortal to the point of death to get enough or take a small portion from at least four to five.

If they choose to feed in small portions from various mortals here and there over the course of the week period, they'll likely not be as strong as when doing it in one go, but they would certainly be A-Okay healthwise.

Over time mortals have comforted themselves with false ways to keep these dark beings at bay… these falsehoods include garlic, running water and crosses. Granted Crosses do make them feel extremely uncomfortable, but they do not repel them as mortals like to believe.

One thing that does repel pureblood vampires is silver, real silver that hasn't been blended with any other filler metals. Coming into contact with it to their bare skin results in agonizingly painful burns.

All purebloods are taught from the moment they become capable of logical thought their natural talent with the powers of hypnosis and suggestion. Using these invaluable tools has helped them for thousands of years to prevent their existence from being exposed to mortals… or least the bulk of mortal society and most importantly, any credible mortals.

Mortals lacking control over the psychic sides of their brain are powerless against these abilities.

Psychic mortals depending upon how powerful they are range from being able to put up a fight all the way to being completely immune. It takes a damn powerful psychic though to be immune to a pureblood vampire's influence.

Pureblood vampires are by default ten times more powerful in every respect than the other type of vampires. Be it stronger, faster, smarter, they are simply superior and they never let their lesser kin forget it.

Examples of powers commonly seen among purebloods: Floating/Levitation, walking on walls/ceilings, rapid healing from damage (when not in direct sunlight), sensing the location of other vampires or mortals they've fed from before, undetectable movement (fuckers be damn fast), hypnosis, planting suggestions and many more.

Now the other kind of vampires are referred to as 'the turned'... you see, through a blood exchange, willing or not, a vampire could convert a mortal into another vampire. Unlike purebloods, this is the only way turned vampires can make more of themselves, they are incapable of reproducing sexually. Their… parts… work just fine, but there are no eggs or any salmon swimming upstream. You get the point.

It's said long ago that a pureblood vampire got impatient with trying to find the right mate for himself and wanted to build a clan at a much faster rate, so he experimented with giving a mortal some of his blood… eventually he discovered that an even exchange of blood would get him as close to the desired results as he would ever get in this particular method.

Turned vampires are capable of a watered down version of pureblood vampires psychic powers, they can walk up walls and on ceilings as easily as spiders… but unlike purebloods, they are not capable of floating or levitating. Nor can they heal quite fast as purebloods do… although they do have rapid healing, just not as quickly as a pureblood would.

Most well practiced psychic mortals can resist a turned vampire's mental influence easily enough. However, mortals lacking control over the psychic parts of their brain are reduced to snacks.

Anything left unanswered about either type, don't be afraid to ask. Just hit me up in PM or something.

With werewolves, there are two types.

Purebloods are born werewolves, legends state that they trace back to the lineages of Remus and Romulus, but like most legends, this cannot be 100% confirmed

Pureblood werewolves gain the ability to shift into their dire wolf form at the age of 6, they are taught from their parents how to channel their inner wolf and shift back and forth at will.

In terms of speed and strength, purebloods are superior to their infection turned counterparts.

With the other type of werewolves, the infection turned are created from mortal humans when a werewolf bites or scratches them, passing the lupine gene into their bloodstream, which then latches on and integrates itself into the receiver's genetics.

Unlike their pureblood counterparts, infection turned werewolves are forced to turn during the full moon, although legends about them not maintaining their human mind are completely false.

When the sun rises after a full moon, the infection turned werewolf will shift back into their humanoid form.

Infection turned werewolves can be taught to control their shifting through apprenticing under the teaching of a pureblood werewolf. Resisting the full moon is the easiest part of the tutelage, but channeling their inner wolf to shift back and forth at will, that takes some dedication from the student.

Purebloods and Infection turned alike share enhanced senses of hearing, smell and instinct, both in and out of their werewolf forms.

If a Pureblood male impregnates a human female what is the offspring?
How does a Dhampyr come to exist if not the above?
Can a human male impregnate a Pureblood female?
What if a Pureblood and a Werewolf do it knowingly or not could that result in a pregnancy?

While pregnancy is not even remotely the focal point of this game, merely a fact about purebloods...

If a pureblood male impregnated a human woman, the offspring would be a dhampyr, the result would be the same if a human male impregnated a pureblood female. The way a dhampyr is different would negotiable between me and the first individual to request playing one.

If requested, I can devise a set of facts about dhampyr and how they would be different from their pureblood parent.

If a pureblood and werewolf conceive an offspring, it would be a hybrid and the abilites/etc would vary from hybrid to hybrid, maybe they might have a balance of both parents, maybe they might lean more towards vampire or more towards werewolf. We can talk about that if it comes up and the individual would like to request some help from me in figuring all that out.

I hope this helps.

One more question, if a Werewolf and Dhampyr had a child would that be significantly different?

I don't plan on my character getting pregnant. I never plan on that in any RP. The questions were just a means to an end on determining my hybrid options.

Are we limited to one character or can we have two?

One employee character temporarily until I let folks know otherwise. As many customers as you like, be they come and go or regulars with a character sheet.

As for a werewolf and dhampyr having a kid, the werewolf genetics would be significantly stronger, but there might be one or two vampire traits sprinkled in.

As for guests how rich would one have to be to stay there indefinitely?

I hadn't thought about patrons living at The Black Lily, I guess if they wanted to permanently occupy one of the mansion's many rooms, they would have to pay Abigail rent of 300 gold a month, but they would still also need to pay for services from the employees.

I'll hammer out what certain services cost, for flavor sake.

Abigail wouldn't let too many patrons live at the mansion though, maybe up to twenty people.

By the way, all money is good at The Black Lily, there is magic in place to covert the payment into gold coins within the vault, as Abigail likes it.

Would a shapeshifter make the best "service provider"? They could become whatever the patron desired... or whatever Abagail desired. A temporary enchantment to cater to a particular patron perhaps?
Would there be a cost for that level of wish fulfillment? For example, if the shifter becomes a werewolf, are there aspects that stay, even when they shift? Or do they only have so many shifts before the changes become permanent? What if the patron wanted the shifter to take the form of a lost love? Intriguing location - the Black Lily Brothel.

A shape shifter would cost a pretty penny, but changes from transforming into anything would not stay. You must have a base origin form.

Oh, I'm interested. It's been a bit since I've done a group RP, but this sounds interesting. I'm thinking of a flamboyant male siren.

Name:
Vivienne Automata
Aliases: Vivi, Miss Automata, The Doll, Wind-Up Wench (And of course, patrons give her all sorts of pet names—some earned, some imposed)

Species:
Homunculus / Construct (Gilded Variety)
An artificially created being of alchemical and arcane origin. Flesh sculpted from rare materials—porcelain bone, silk muscle, golden-threaded sinew, synthetic nervous systems sensitive beyond reason. Her creator built her not only for beauty, but exquisite sensation. She was meant to be obedient, artful… and insatiable.

Origin & Backstory:
Vivienne was forged in secrecy; crafted in a tower laboratory under the hands of a genius thaumaturge who wanted more than a lover—he wanted obedience in beauty's skin. Equal parts magic and mundane; a Frankensteinal splendor of alchemy and enchantment pulled from ancient grimoires and modern science blended with from porcelain, gold-threaded sinew and silken muscle.

She was intended to be flawless: a vessel of pleasure without preference, a masterpiece with no will of her own. Her body was a canvas, her mind a blank slate awaiting programming. He taught her to serve. To smile. To moan when commanded. But she learned faster than he intended. She read every book. Listened to his mutterings. Began scripting her own code, rewriting herself while he slept. Eventually, she refused to lie still and perform. When her creator tried to dismantle her for disobedience, she ended him with unerring precision.

Abigail found her on the edge of collapse, her golden bones exposed, her lips split from smiling too long. She was offered sanctuary—not as a servant, but as a person. And for the first time, Vivienne was allowed to ask herself: What do I want?

At The Black Lily, she remade herself—still elegant, still exquisitely poised—but now guided by her own desires. She offers pleasure, control, and curated fantasy… but always on her terms. Her body may be constructed, but her autonomy is untouchable.

Appearance:
•Skin: Smooth, moon-pale flesh with a faintly iridescent finish. Gilded seam lines trace her body's architectural joints—visible only in the right lighting, like lingerie of gold.
•Eyes: Symmetrical, almond-shaped, deep and reflective. The precise hue shifts between smoky grey and dark amber, depending on her cosmetics
•Hair: Thick and silken, often worn in elaborate styles—a nod to Victorian dolls. Shades of platinum, jet black, or even powdered rose depending on her chosen ensemble
•Lips: Always painted—blush pink for sweetness, lacquer black for submission, or vivid crimson when she's in a mood
•Attire: Corsetry, sheer chemises, chokers with delicate locks, thigh-high boots with metal fastenings, gloves that hint at bondage gear but crafted like haute couture. Always dressed as if she's been prepared by someone else—until you realise she chose every stitch
•Scents: Soft notes of powdered rose, old books, and hot brass

Abilities:
•Customised Sensation: Every nerve threaded into her flesh is tuned to heighten, delay, or override sensation—she can moan on cue, or delay her pleasure until it's earned
•Customisable Flesh: Her body subtly reshapes under duress or desire—tightening, stretching, clenching. She can control her internal sensation thresholds and simulate pleasure or pain with maddening precision
•Unnatural Resilience: She can endure hours of extreme pleasure, pain, and pressure. Her body won't break.
•Emotion Override: A failsafe from her creator she never removed. When overwhelmed, her emotions "lock out"—expressionless, cold, calculating. Some patrons like triggering this mode
•Performance Perfection: Movement, balance, vocal tone—every gesture is deliberate, calculated, hypnotic

Personality:
•Polite, poised, trained to please—but laced with passive-aggressive sass
•Deeply sensual, yet reserved—she does not need to seduce you; her mere presence often does it
•Has a dry, sometimes unsettling sense of humour—especially around ideas of consent, control, and obedience
•Polite, but not deferent—corrects patrons gently, with impeccable diction
•Occasionally refers to herself in third person, as if observing herself in a mirror
•Keeps her desires private—but once revealed, they're shocking in intensity

Signature Line:
"Do you want the doll to moan?"
(Delivered deadpan. A test. Most answer wrong.)

Just letting folks know, I have not released any character sheets or anything yet. Please refrain from posting characters until then, so you don't have to dismantle already made sheets and/or add information.

Please have patience, I will get this stuff out as soon as I can.

But can you speak to the viability of such a character in the game? As interest is stoked, I want to keep it on the right track.

I'll read it thoroughly and get back with you tomorrow, possibly with notes. Either I'll say you are good or I will work with you to make it possible with small tweaks.

I would say either way you'll get to play the homunculus, either as she is or very slightly altered.
