Age: 20-27
Appearance: Of average height and build for a Hunter, Ryuuko has red hair (usually kept in a ponytail) and green eyes, with a fair complexion. Though not absolutely necessary while out in the field, she does use glasses. She's collected a number of scars over the years, including one on her left eye that was given to her by her master when she finished training.
Sexual orientation: Lesbian
Personality: Ryuuko has a deep respect and fascination for the creatures in the world around her, from the tiniest Scalebat to the mighty Tigrex. She has a soft spot for "derpy" monsters (while in the New World, she was a devoted member of the Dodogama Fanclub), and finds them endearing. While she gets along very well with Palicoes, Palamutes, and other Lynians, she is somewhat awkward around her fellow humans, as well as Wyverians and Troverians. As such, she rarely goes on missions with other Hunters unless absolutely necessary.
On a side note, she has a thing for Wyverian women, and if they're particularly cute, she can become shy and flustered around them.
Backstory: Born and raised in the village of Bherna, Ryuuko's mother was a Hunter who specialized in using the Long Sword. She was always excited to see monsters captured out in the field brought back to the Wycademy for study. In time, she followed in her mother's footsteps, and trained as a Hunter in the Val Habar region, making occasional excursions to places like Yukumo and Moga. She was selected to join the Fifth Fleet, and for a time worked in the New World. Ryuuko fell in love with the New World, and when it came time for the Research Commission to leave the continent, she vowed to return one day. In the meantime, she's traveled to the Kamura region in order to hone her skills in iaido, and has come to love it almost as a second home.
Combat style: Ryuuko specializes in using the Long Sword, and specifically makes heavy use of Iai Spirit Slash while fighting monsters. Since coming to Kamura, she's also picked up Hunting Horn and Light Bowgun.
Hunting Partners: Taiga, Mr. Tumnus

About: Ryuuko's longtime friend and trusty hunting paw-tner, Taiga joined up with Ryuuko while she was training in Val Habar. The wily Felyne accompanied her to the New World, where he became close friends with the Grimalkyne tribe known as Plunderers. Unlike most Palicoes, he very rarely slips puns into his sentences, though he might occasionally do so by accident.
About: Ryuuko's newest ally since arriving in Kamura, Mr. Tumnus is a brave Canyne who, at one point, was too afraid to even challenge a Bombadgy. However, with help from Taiga and Ryuuko, he's become a Palamute among Palamutes, and is unflinchingly loyal to his friends (though he'll often snark at Taiga's expense).
Age: 20-28
Appearance: Of standard height and build for a Hunter, though his face makes him look a little chubby. He has brown hair and eyes, and has several scars on his face from encounters with monsters. He can't grow a full beard, and seems to always have a layer of stubble. He's blind without his glasses, so he wears them at all times.
Sexual orientation: Heterosexual
Personality: A young man who is happiest spending time with Palamutes and Palicoes, and can often be found spending time with them playing his music and singing for them. He's a bit socially awkward with humans/Wyverians/Troverians/etc., so he tends to remain quiet around them; that being said, he has a kind heart, and wants to help people however he can. His favorite thing to do when alone is read, and his shelves are filled with all kinds of books from around the world. He feels a kind of kinship with monsters, and does his best to learn about them however he can.
On a side note, he has a thing for Wyverian women, and if they're particularly cute, he can become shy and flustered around them.
Backstory: Born and raised in the village of Bherna, Andreas came to find himself fascinated with places like Kamura and Yukumo. He learned how to wield the Hunting Horn from a Hunter from Kamura, and began emulating his teacher. His career as a Hunter was never that remarkable, but he was happy with it, especially when he got to spend time with Buddies. He's wandered from region to region, but treats Bherna as his home base.
Combat style: Andreas utilizes the Hunting Horn to support his allies, but isn't afraid to jump in front of a monster and start bashing it in the head. Most of his Hunting Horns tend towards stringed instruments.
Hunting Partners: Tenko
About: In the past, Tenko was in the employ of the Hunter who would eventually be Andreas's teacher. When the man retired, Tenko yearned to continue his duties as a Palamute, and so became Andreas's partner. He's loyal, and always ready to hunt.

Personality: Like many Toa of Ice, Jobu tends to be quiet and aloof, though the reason for his behavior is somewhat different. His social skills are somewhat lacking-to the point of a certain level of awkwardness-- and he finds it difficult to speak with other beings. However, he feels comfortable around Rahi beasts, and has a fondness for them that often surprises others. Despite this, he is kindhearted, and, once comfortable with someone, prone to sarcasm.

Species: Agori

Personality: A polite, if standoffish, Agori who socializes little with others. He is content to go about his work barely interacting with other Agori or Glatorian, and can often be heard singing quietly to himself while mining. One of his hobbies stemming from his occupation is collecting fossils, and will offer discounts on what he mines if a buyer has bones that might be valuable additions to his collection.
Background: A young Agori working as a miner, Androxus is among the few on Bara Magna who are too young to remember the Core War. He rarely leaves the area around Iconox, where he mines for Exsidian. Unlike most residents of Bara Magna, he has little interest in the Arena system, preferring to spend his free time either alone reading or observing the creatures of the White Quartz Mountains. Due to the nature of Bara Magna, he was trained to defend himself, and is proficient enough with his chosen weapons to hold his own in battle.
